The more I think about it the more I like the idea of Jonah & Goyer forming this new DCU world.

Those guys can make some serious magic. Christopher Nolan's main interest was with Batman so I doubt he'd really want to deal with all these other characters as I'm sure he has other projects aside from comic book adaptations in mind. The most I could see Nolan doing is contracting/suggesting the talent that should be involved based on what his brother and Goyer recommend depending on the character/story.

Jonah & Goyer however can spearhead a magnificent age for DC films.

I agree. They are both crucial. Goyer has excellent ideas on how to execute things and has a very very good knowledge of the back story of a character and what makes it work.

Jonah does best what Goyer lacks. He makes the script and dialogue tight and its clear when you see his influence from BB to TDK. Jonah is also a major comic book fan. I was reading the introduction to a superman/batman TPB the other day that jonah wrote and he talks about the differences between superman and batman and I felt like yeah this guy has a passion for the characters and that is what is needed.

Jamie and Showtime should go through that article, and pick out what's true and what's not. But David Yates directing a JL movie seems like a director WB is comfortable with, considering his four HP films grossed a collective $4B worldwide for the studio.

And he seems like the kind of director that wouldn't mind working with Nolan or whatever.

It would be interesting if all that turned out to be true but I doubt it's accurate. Either way I wish DC/WB the best and I will be there opening night for all there DC movie releases.

So we're supposed to believe that the second film in their fancy new shared universe is Lobo? C'mon.

Why even bother making that at that particular time? They should concentrate on getting a JL-related movie out. Perhaps they should even launch the Batman reboot then instead of Lobo. They'll do Lobo, but he's not even part of the bigger plan, so it's a waste of a slot.

Batman shouldn't be after JL, otherwise it won't really feel like Superman is teaming up with a Batman we're familiar with. That's why, if they changed their minds, it would be much better for the Batman of this shared universe to be Christian Bale. We've already lived through his character and watched him grow. The new Batman of JL would be a blank slate.

I have zero issues with bringing BatBale into this and in fact it's something I'd love to see. It would be fun to watch him come to grips with his suddenly-not-quite-so-realistic world.

Also maybe we'd get to see him punch Ryan Reynolds. :D

I mean it's a love-hate thing for me. Bale's still, in my opinion, in my top two cast choices for Batman in a JL film and I'm not settled on the other one. I'd like to see a new take, but Bale won't necessarily approach the role the same either. New film, even with Nolan's money, is going to have it's own vision and they'll probably be tweaking characters just like Avengers did a bit. Joss definitely did his own thing with the dialogue (and it was great).

Meh most of that sounds like BS and I don't really buy it. Plus the Green Lantern movie flopped.

In my defense, the font is kinda little.

I was just posting my opinion which I thought it was similar to yours. I don't think a superhero movie has to be "dark" in order to be successful. It worked for Batman, which more than dark, I saw it as more mature and with verisimilitude. And I quote myself:

When I say that Warner Brothers should find some director that could do for The Flash what Nolan did for Batman, do you really think I mean that a Flash adaption should be in the same style as the current Batman trilogy? Or what do I actually mean?

That's why I hope Nolan can suggest Duncan Jones to WB when the time comes, since he was considered at one point for Man of Steel.

Duncan Jones would be great for Flash.

And I wouldn't mind Nolan godfathering things. Though of course he probably won't want to just work with superheroes so he won't be putting his full time in them. It's more quality control than influencing things creatively which I don't see Nolan doing. If anything he'll work in the same capacity as he did with MOS and that's it. Maybe less so.

Jonah seems like a more realistic guy to handle things though and be more involved. Him and Goyer I wouldn't mind seeing. Goyer is pretty much the unsing hero of Nolan's Batman films, as he's a great idea man. And him and Jonah seem to have a good understanding of the characters. And they're comic book fans so that helps.

If this Variety article is true, it makes me feel a bit better about things. Though the true test will for for MOS.

That was me you quoted not protocida.

If that list is true? We could be seeing Avengers 2 in May 2015, and JLA in July 2015.

*Gets a new pair of shorts*

Justice League and The Avengers 2 in the same year?

BTW there's a new Justice League section on the board. Seems a bit early for that personally when there's nothing concrete, but I just thought I'd mention it anyway.

Congrats to those who fell for that.

Cosmicbook News has no credibility and posts complete BS.

It's all false.

It's all false.

Pretty much.

This is a fans vision... not WB. Anyone of us could have wrote that.

It's been said before, but every CBN article should begin with "wouldn't it be cool if..."

Because the site never actually breaks news.

Why are you bastards paying so much attention to the obviously false CBN article when there's another totally truly article with Mark Millar commenting on the JL script?

There is no way Chris Nolan will allow his movies to be connected into any type of shared DC Universe.

No one said they were going to be.

I swear, VO, it seems like you're having a conversation more with yourself than anyone else most of the time.

You know, it would be great if Nolan's movies were intergrated, just so I could stop reading those comments.

Leave Nolan's movies alone. Leave Bale's Batman alone.

New material FTW
