I want to see Vandal Savage as the main villain!! The Justice League vs. The Illuminati; that would capture my imaginations like no other. They could call it "The Light" as they do in Young Justice, but I personally think "Illuminati" is way more bad ass and scary.

I feel like that's as realistic as you can get with a JL movie. In a world where there's a single cabal of individuals who have been controlling the events of human history (Savage being the leader), it makes sense for a band of superheroes to join forces to stop him. There's something about the Justice League that just lends itself to conspiracy theories - I hope conspiracies become a big part of this film series.

I say save the alien invasion for the final film.

This is a perfect approach and idea for a Justice League film to differentiate itself from Avengers. Love this idea.

How soon into the film would you reveal that Vandal Savage is immortal?

I would reveal it somewhere in the third act right after a 20 minute ****-worthy action sequence showcasing the abilities of all the heroes...we're talking Flash and Green Lantern team-up moves, Batman using all sorts of weapons including smoke bombs, freeze pellets, batarangs, with Arkham City style fighting, Wonder Woman doing some brutal UFC type sh-t along with fancy lasso moves, and Superman using all his powers to wipe out large groups of soldiers. Yeah! Just imagine that sh-t, and enjoy it!

Back to the point. It would happen in a confrontation between Superman and Vandal Savage after that big fight (while others are still going at it). Vandal would go on with a monologue with clips of history and fictional atrocities (terrorist attacks on Metropolis and other sick sh-t like that). This sequence would imply his immortality (pretty obviously), but never actually stated. [this would most definitely get SHH posters debating on whether he's actually immortal or not]. He would then try to convince Superman to join his cause, and in way where we (the audience) are sort of agreeing with him (a mind-f-ck if you will). Superman would ultimately decline, have his schpeel, show off his moral integrity, and get the audience back on his side of justice.

It just seems right for a JL movie to have a deep conversation about morality and justice between the two strongest men in the world; one who's practically the ruler of it (Savage), and the other who's an alien fighting to protect it (Supes). May the religious connotations begin!!

I mean we can have our cake with glorious fight scenes, but I think the core message of the movie should be defining what true justice is.

Meh, I'm no visionary director, but that's what I'd like to see in a JL film. Thoughts?

Hmm makes sense. My problem with this though is that Vandal savage is playing a very lex luthor type role in your story

I've never seen "the invasion" with nicole kidman and daniel craig, just the trailer, but that's what I'd like the first jl to be something like that with braniac being responsible for "the invasion".

Vandal Savage and The Illuminati faking an invasion to manipulate the public. :hmm

This is such a cool idea and very different to what everyone would expect. Especially the Avengers crowd. But the discussions between Vandal and Superman would be a little too much like Ras Al ghuls in Batman Begins.

The immortality route i dont mind at all because it's not like we ever got that Ras/JL movie or like Nolan ever made Liam Neeson immortal like the comics. So its great but the monologue bit would have to be a little different unless it's done as a parallel ..Vandal/Clark - Ras/Bruce.

The clips of history would be a way to do it.

I have a hard time believing WB will do something like this though. I still think we're getting some sort of an alien threat lol.

They cant possibly be that Stupid.Stay the eff away from Alien Invasions. For the Love of God.We dont need more Avengers knockoff

lol at "more avengers knockoff". because prior to the avengers alien invasions weren't ever depicted on screen. ever. and what's been knocked off from the avengers before for their to be "more" to knockoff exactly?

i guess that means no darkseid in the future either then.

honestly if they re-write what the Miller-JLA script was, we'd be good. I just don't like the Maxwell lord villain.

Frankly, I think going hardcore "Avengers knockoff" would be their *best* move. Yes, it makes it look like a knockoff... but "Like Avengers, but with Superman and Batman" is *marketable*. Look at it like this: even if it only made half as much as Avengers, if they kept the budget under 250M, it'd still be a pretty big success.

Yeah maybe commercially, but i can care less how much this movie makes, i want to see a good movie that's different. It'll be a success no matter what because it's Batman and Superman teaming up.

I'd much rather take a Ben Affeck picture than an Avengers knockoff.

They can get half as much doing something different.

Dang it! You saw right through me man. That's exactly what I did - I took the Bruce/Ra's conflict from Begins and translated it into terms of Superman and a bigger threat. I still think it would be bad ass though, even if Batman already did something like that in a different movie.

Anyway, I actually wouldn't mind an alien invasion from the get-go, but it wouldn't make it an "Avengers knock-off" like some of you silly gooses are saying - it would simply make it cliche, just like Avengers was cliche. That said, with good enough writing, you can take any cliche, turn it on its a--, and make it into something incredible. I'd love to see Darkseid! (But like I mentioned before, I think the alien threat should be saved for last) - we should keep it smaller and close to home before we go outworldly. I want to see Batman be able to keep up as much as possible before he's just up in the Watchtower telling people what to do.

Alien invasion? Been there done that.

They could do it differently. Same way I imagine A2/3 will almost inevitably will be Thanos vs Avengers.

If WB really wanted to be different they could do a two parter film. Preferably based off JLA: Rock Of Ages and Final Crisis, with a few introductory cues taken from Justice League v5 #1-6.

I'm not saying the alien invasion hasn't been done, cause its been overdone, but they're going to do some alien invasion type **** at some point, might as well do it differently, and get it out of the way right now. that's my point.

Get it out of the way right now? What kind of threat could possibly be more threatening than an alien invasion? After you do that, you can't really get any bigger unless you're going to bring in even more aliens. I'd much rather have them save the aliens for last - there's still a lot of evil to be done by Earthlings alone. There's a bunch of aliens in the League anyway - aliens should be seen as saviors first so the eventual alien invasion would antagonize the League later on.

Either they make only one JLA movie with alien invasions and all that mess, or they take it slow and save the invasion for last film. I feel if you do it first, it makes it easier to mess up the next films.

If it were up to me (Thank heavens it's not), I'd want them to do JLA (sans alien threat), then Batman and the Outsiders (also sans alien threat), and then JLI (alien threat..with a worse, but more fun version of the League :D )...Of coarse Batman being the only one to show up in all three, haha.

JL has enough really bad ass earth based villians to stay away from the cliche alien attack. Vandal Savage is good one, however so is Aries, Aquaman, Circe, Felix Faust, Morgan le fey, lex luthor, and Gorrila grodd to name a few. Darkseid should make an appearance at some point in any trilogy but he's the kind of character that be built up because it's in his nature to send others first.

paradox1: Aquaman being a villain???
