solo movies leading to the event movie isn't the only way to do things. DC can have the event movie and then use that to lead into solo movies. Take Hulk for example. Before Avengers only a handful of people wanted to see a solo Hulk movie. After Avengers the character has a lot of hype and could hold a solo movie if Marvel wanted to go that route.

Exactly.

Solo movies leading into a team movie is a perfectly good strategy, but it's hardly the only strategy. The lack of creativity and open mindedness with people around here is staggering.

the perfect way to do this and not draw comparisons to Marvel is to do it differently

Yup.

And if Mark Millar is to be believed, the treatment is quite different from TA as well.

its comic book fans...they only believe in one way of doing things...the most popular...when TDK was popular everyone was talking about making every movie like TDK

Yup.

I would hope so...but then again I don't believe Millar

The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the Internet Mark Millar knew what the Hell he was talking about.

Well, compared to how the Internet believes a bunch of random people who write into no lame movie websites at random, Mark Millar is a viritable Deep Throat.

:hehe:

But, seriously though, why is he talking as if he's an authority on anything whatsoever?

Um, he was merely talking as if he knew the guy who's writing the script.

Which is possible, however unlikely.

Difference is Millar has proven to be a liar. He's actually fessed up to making crap up in the past.

At this point, I'd take the word of Comic-Book Movie over him. He's that bad.

Please don't follow up my clever post filled with fancy words like "viritable" and outdated pop culture references like "Deep Throat" just to reiterate a point you already made. :o

I would trust Mephisto over Millar

And he said the Dark Knight Rises villain was a character that peaked in popularity during his childhood. Then the villain announced didn't debut until he was in his 20s. :oldrazz:

to be fair the way he writes he's still in his childhood

Yup.

People don't seem to get how the Justice League dynamic works when they get together. There's very little in the leaguer's solo stories that cannot be introduced in the JLA film as needed. Yes, Avengers did it another way, but where was the benefit, other than that people knew Iron Man and Thor existed and there were some simple connections between films? It's not like The Avengers was heavily tied to the solo films of the characters, or that there was much in the way of character development in the movie. The insistence that somehow it's "cheating" to make a few solo hero films and then a JLA movie is getting annoying. There are many ways to make a DC filmverse happen.

The JUSTICE LEAGUE characters, who have pretty simple powers and backgrounds at their outset, will interact with each other...much the same as they did in THE AVENGERS. Well, hopefully better, and with more depth.

I wouldn't dismiss Millar's statements so quickly.

Bane DID peak in popularity when Millar was in his twenties. Mark Millar was born in 1969. That makes him in his early twenties when Bane was created and showcased in KNIGHTFALL during 1993. I don't think Bane has ever been that popular after that, save for during his time with Ra's circa 1996/1997, which would have also happened when Milliar was in his twenties, as would have BATMAN & ROBIN. So he pretty clearly wasn't lying about that.

The man's a professional comic book and movie writer. Odds are he DOES know professional writers working on other projects.

It's when he talks about being involved in projects himself that you should take it with a truckload of salt.

Millar is a actually a pretty funny guy in person. I think he probably stretches the truth just for the attention though.

I agree wholeheartedly.

I'd say. He's always been quite the sensationalist.

I think they only Characters who need to be established in the Justice League-World are Batman and Superman. Those are the 2 main guys in the group, give them each 1 solo movie before JL, having WonderWoman, GL, and Flash cameos in the Batman and Superman movies. everything works out.

I don't think anyone needs to be established before JL movie

Agreed. I'm in the team "no need for solo movies before the JLA movie".

He does everything for attention.

Frankly I prefer the League movie not be a movie about the League's origins. I'd prefer they already be established.
