Arrow Laurel is going to die

Unless they want Riots on the street, Felicity is not going to die. She's too much of a fan favorite to kill.

Game of thrones, breaking bad, the walking dead, and the wire.Killed some fan favorite characters.

Game of thrones
Well it has to stay mostly true to the books or i'm sure the book readers would be throwing internet fits.

breaking bad
There were only a few fan favorite deaths and they happened mostly in the final season.

the walking dead
Isn't that one of the hooks of the show? That anyone could die.

Well just look at what the show was about.

And yet people died and those shows ratings were not affected.

Agreed. In a choice between either Felicity or Laurel being killed off. I would choose Laurel to be killed off.

Well no-one is saying ratings would be affected. All that is being said is that the backlash from fans, mostly Felicity fan boys and girls would be insane.

What's all this stuff about "the producers are lying" and "They said the same thing about Tommy." Is that just balderdash or are there some examples of these guys lying about their contracts to 'throw off audiences?'

I think the point trying to be made is that producers and actors are not going to spoil a major death so they act as if the person is still part and a future part of the show until after the episode airs.

Also, they're not above changing "the plan".Tommy wasn't going to die, until they altered their plans for the finale.

Laurel is not going to die and Felicity sure isn't. Even Sara, I think maybe she's safe and just has to leave with de LoA in the end, as some part of a deal to save the city.

I don't think the writers are willing to take risks that big. But I would be surprised and glad if they did... Even if they killed Felicity, that I like, I think I would respect them a little bit more.

When you have big ensemble casts you can kill some characters like they did with Lost, but even they left the leads till the last season. As for Walking Dead, you know from the comics that if
Lori
can die, everyone but Rick (and maybe his kid) is at risk. The same for GoT. And none of those are CW. :woot:

I think in the last episode they telegraphed Sara's journey just beginning so I'm pretty sure she's safe. Besides, it would be redundant to see her parents and Laurel grieve over her all over again.

Likely candidates are Laurel or Felicity.

I also think Sara is safe, because you can't have her die for Laurel. In Season 1, Tommy died saving Laurel. In Season 2, you'd have Sara die to save Laurel. It'd be redundant. People would ask themselves who'll be killed off in Season 3 to save Laurel.

Ya it will start to become that "women in the fridge" pilot device territory

I doubt anyone is going to die in the finale. Oliver couldn't save his mother so I will assume that he will be able to save the person that Slade wants to kill in the finale. Laurel will 99% become the next DA of the city.

The only reason I think Felicity might go is because of that twitter post that the actor who plays Roy posted a while ago saying goodbye to Emily Rickards.

This tweet?

Miss this lil lady already! @EmilyBett . Wrapped season 2 and packed gifts in the back of her jeep… http://t.co/5A0XYiczDq

Wouldn't read anything into that other than that filming had wrapped and they probably won't see each other for 2 months.

It's kind of like two college friends/roommates from different states going home for the summer.

Ahh, you're probably right JC00. Good, you've eased my worries about that then. So, who knows, maybe no one will bite it in the finale then.

Y'know, if they're doing a Birds of Prey type set up, Felicity would be killed (explaining why she got a bunch of gifts for just wrapping for the year - did everyone get gifts or something??), Sara would get crippled, and she'd basically take over for Felicity and be "Oracle" as Laurel started becoming the Black Canary.

It's hard to imagine them killing Felicity, they like her too much. I don't think they have that much chutzpah.

I agree with that point, but most people don't intentionally lie to do so because it destroys their credibility. Did Arrow do this?

Also, they're not above changing "the plan".Tommy wasn't going to die, until they altered their plans for the finale.

Total agreement, but I think when the actor is talking about the plans for next season after the finale has been filmed is a totally unrelated to them changing plans for the finale before the finale is filmed.

I really, really hope they won't do it like this, if they ever want to have a chance at a Birds of Prey spin-off succeeding.

Killing the fan favorite tech expert, crippling the kickass ex-assassin, and putting her on tech support duty, even though she might be more comfortable in the field of biology, have her amateur sister take over as the Canary, watching her get killed nearly every episode, because she lacks the training, and possibly being accompanied by the Huntress, who is nothing like her comic counterpart, and probably the least likable female after Laurel.

I hope nobody dies for Dinah Laurel as that would be a repeat of last season.

Wouldn't surprise me if Felicity dies.

Lol I think we should change the title of this thread.

It's not uncommon for actors and crew to buy each other end of season gifts.
