Anyone else see the news about the King Kong vs. Godzilla Blu-ray release on April 1st? Looking forward to it for sure. One of my favorite movies as a kid.

Odd, segmented Godzilla figure

Spines are definitely bigger and more jagged on this one.

That's either fake or a placeholder image. More likely fake. Either way, this isn't a real figure.

Take a look. That figure on the bottom is just a photoshopped version of the old concept piece.

Batman, ‘Godzilla,’ ‘The Hobbit’ Ready to Play at Toy Fairs for Warner Bros.

For “Godzilla,” produced by Legendary Pictures, WBCP has lined up Bandai America Inc. to serve as the film’s master toy partner. JAKKS Pacific will also create large-scale figures and toys tied to “King of the Monsters,” while Rubie’s will design Godzilla costumes; NECA will have novelty toys; and Sideshow Collectibles will produce detailed statues. Film stomps into theaters May 16.

Images of “Godzilla” products are only being shown in behind-closed-door meetings, Warner Bros. said.

Except maybe to continue hiding some monster designs, in general I don't understand the point of being super secretive at a trade show, or taking trailers off of youtube and such. That is the opposite of marketing.

Ironically its the same approach the crappy 98 movie took with not sowing him at all til the movie was released. I see both sides of the argument being secretive and all but it is what is. I personally love looking at all the toys for upcoming movies and collectible's.

Trailer Report: 'Godzilla' Teaser Outpaces New Previews for '300: Rise of an Empire,' 'Maleficent'
The second spot for the "The Raid 2" was the only other new coming attraction in a top ten that otherwise featured returning favorites.

The first teaser for the new Godzilla update was the most-viewed coming attraction on YouTube for the week ending Jan. 26.

The trailer recorded 4.8 million views on YouTube, according to technology company Zefr, which tracks the numbers. The flame-throwing monster's preview has notched 27.8 million total views since its release on Dec. 10. The movie starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen opens May 16.

Nice to see the demand is there. As much as I disliked Pacific Rim I think it served a good purpose is getting the "big monster" vibe back out there to the masses. I really hope the next trailer has the full airport chain reaction shot and the eyes reveal from the comic con footage. Gave me chills.

I just hope that it does well enough for a sequel that and that it makes studios release decent special editions of the classics but I'm not holding much hope for that

I pray this does well and I have faith that it will, hearing Edwards talk about what he would do with a Destroy All Monsters type of sequel is enough to make any fan cream their pants.

just watched the 1954 original this weekend.
within the context of the period it was made, the movie is really well done.
the social and political themes brought up in it are still pretty relevant today.
loved the sense of dread and tension in it.
and now looking forward to this new godzilla!

Find the Japanese version of Godzilla '84. It returns to the tone of the first film quite a bit and I think it is an interesting reflection of the time period, Japan caught in the middle of the US and the USSR.
