He IS Jim Gordon. I wouldn't mind him as Lex, but he's is the possibly the perfect actor to succeed Gary Oldman in the role of Jim Gordon.

I don't want Cranston at all for this. He really is the best fit for Gordon.

Cranston needs to be Jim Gordon if anyone at all.

Not right for Lex cuz of age, IMO.

That's the mentality of almost all CBM fan-casts sadly. "This person is a certain height and has a certain eye-color so they should be cast as this character!"

That's exactly why I'm terrified of WB and Marvel and any studio watching boards like this closely. 'Cause some clueless fanboys might actually have even 2% of a chance to ruin a movie.

Still 200% against Bryan as Lex. He'd give one hell of a performance for an interpretation that would leave me cold.

I remember the dark days of people wanting Triple H as Thor.

Pretty sure Cranston wont end up as Lex. I dont get why all the sites report this as fact.

Also sick of the same sites that keep calling this a MOS-sequel when it really isnt and hasnt been called it officially.

Has Cranston been chosen for the gig? A swedish news-site claims he has but I haven't heard anything about it here.

just a rumor started by Cosmicbooknews, an extremely unreliable source of information. If Cranston is Luthor I won't be surprised, but CBN's report is in all likelihood based on pretty much nothing. I wish someone from WB would just come out and say whether or not Cranston is Luthor, because this is getting annoying.

Nobody from WB is denying Cranston is Lex, because Cranston is Lex and they are only going to announce it after Breaking Bad has finished airing.

i'm watching breaking bad, and all the walter white comparisons to luthor on this forum don't make sense. if anyone on breaking bad is like luthor it's gustavo fring. that's how lex should be played. cold calculating, always a step ahead of everyone, and to the general public a revered legitimate business man. cranston being bald just makes him the fan choice just like zane as lex was for the past 10 years.

But Cranston isn't playing Lex in Breaking Bad. Cranson's Walter White character however has shown glimpses of cold and calculating ferocity, probably for sequences of about 10 seconds at a time. If you look carefully enough you can see that if he increases that from 10 seconds to 100 minutes, then you have the perfect Lex. In fact, ferocity is not a difficult trait to portray, however intelligence is very difficult to portray, and that is why Cranson is Lex. Nobody portrays intelligence better than Cranston.

^This.

Yeah but to be fair that was before people knew Chris Hemsworth existed.

Which is precisely why people keep making ridiculous nominations like Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio, et al. It's easy to throw out big names when you have a limited knowledge base. Whereas Hollwood-types have incredible resources to locate and choose an actor for a role from a much broader spectrum, including those that we, as the public, "don't know exist."

who's the biggest star right now? that's who's gonna play lex.

i have a feeling this cranston business might just be a red herring to throw off el mayimbe and everyone snooping around.
dont know about biggest star but like affleck ,Mcconaughey has had a career resurgence with films like

Killer Joe
Mud
Magic Mike
Lincoln Lawyer
upcoming HBO Mini-Series True Detective's with Woody Harrelson
Scorsese's The Wolf of Wallstreet
The Dallas Buyers Club
Chris Nolan's Interstellar

i would love him as lex he is same age range as affleck too where he is older but doesn't look too old

Well Lex is open to a much larger range of actor's than Thor. Studio's usually won't go unknown for a role this big unless the physical requirements are so specific that no other working actor could pull off the role, e.g. Thor. Luthor will be an actor we have heard of, I guarantee it.

I'm well aware that Lex will be played by an actor we've heard of, but, I'll see your guarantee with another - Luthor won't be played by Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio, or any of there other "mega stars" that some people insist on discussing daily.

Right now, I believe that the biggest "star" you might get is Matt Damon, followed by Matthew McConaughey, and then downward from there.

I still think it's going to be Cranston.

McConaughey would be awesome

This may seem like an asinine question but do you guys think they'll even make Lex bald in the movie? Maybe they'll take the S:TM approach and he'll have hair?

I remember the dark days of people wanting Triple H as Thor.

Fans actually wanted Triple H'?

"I am the Godahhhh of Thuderahhhh. Don't you like my actingahhhh? David Goyerahhhh said I'm a starahhhh."

I no longer think Cranston will be Luthor. Id dig it but since cosmicbook started this ****, it's probably false. Im thinking Lex will be Affleck's age, maybe mid 40s. I don't think it's Mark Strong either.

Ill say Affleck chooses Cranston to be Gordon once the solo movie hits.

Lex Luthor will be anyone from Michael C Hall to Matthew McConaughay to Leo Dicaprio to Brad Pitt to Matt Damon (hehe).

Josh Brolin or even Ryan Gosling may get the spot too, since these things happen sometimes when 2 people WB want for the good guy role don't pan out, then they're cast as the other villain.

Remember what Snyder said about Lex 2 months ago. He'll be casting a big name actor on the level of Russell Crowe/Kevin Costner/Amy Adams and he'll be a multi billionaire version of Brad Pitt. So he'll be a handsome man to the people. Is it actually Brad Pitt? I doubt it. But im thinking Gosling, Dicaprio, Damon, McConaughay are the 4 that have the best chance at this. Leo is taking a break and so is Gosling but Ryan is probably returning to acting before him, so maybe.

I just have a hard time thinking of Lex with an accent. Whether that's McConaughay or Pitt, I just don't hear that voice for Lex.

Now, could that change? Yeah, if WB or Affleck forces Cranston on Lex then Zack's wish of a dream Luthor goes out the window. But ill say Bryan doesn't get cast.

They don't care or look at fanboys casting. These movies are for the general audience first and foremost not the fans. Otherwise Affleck wouldn't even be considered in the first place.

Id love Cranston as Luthor, but im getting so sick of hearing of this false rumor to the point where id be happier if he's Gordon.
