That's people like Cruise and Dicaprio.
That's the mentality of almost all CBM fan-casts sadly. "This person is a certain height and has a certain eye-color so they should be cast as this character!"

I remember the dark days of people wanting Triple H as Thor.
Has Cranston been chosen for the gig? A swedish news-site claims he has but I haven't heard anything about it here.
i'm watching breaking bad, and all the walter white comparisons to luthor on this forum don't make sense. if anyone on breaking bad is like luthor it's gustavo fring. that's how lex should be played. cold calculating, always a step ahead of everyone, and to the general public a revered legitimate business man. cranston being bald just makes him the fan choice just like zane as lex was for the past 10 years.
But Cranston isn't playing Lex in Breaking Bad. Cranson's Walter White character however has shown glimpses of cold and calculating ferocity, probably for sequences of about 10 seconds at a time. If you look carefully enough you can see that if he increases that from 10 seconds to 100 minutes, then you have the perfect Lex. In fact, ferocity is not a difficult trait to portray, however intelligence is very difficult to portray, and that is why Cranson is Lex. Nobody portrays intelligence better than Cranston.
Yeah but to be fair that was before people knew Chris Hemsworth existed.
dont know about biggest star but like affleck ,Mcconaughey has had a career resurgence with films likewho's the biggest star right now? that's who's gonna play lex.
i have a feeling this cranston business might just be a red herring to throw off el mayimbe and everyone snooping around.
Which is precisely why people keep making ridiculous nominations like Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio, et al. It's easy to throw out big names when you have a limited knowledge base. Whereas Hollwood-types have incredible resources to locate and choose an actor for a role from a much broader spectrum, including those that we, as the public, "don't know exist."
Well Lex is open to a much larger range of actor's than Thor. Studio's usually won't go unknown for a role this big unless the physical requirements are so specific that no other working actor could pull off the role, e.g. Thor. Luthor will be an actor we have heard of, I guarantee it.
I'm well aware that Lex will be played by an actor we've heard of, but, I'll see your guarantee with another - Luthor won't be played by Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Tom Hanks, Leonardo DiCaprio, or any of there other "mega stars" that some people insist on discussing daily.
Right now, I believe that the biggest "star" you might get is Matt Damon, followed by Matthew McConaughey, and then downward from there.
McConaughey would be awesomedont know about biggest star but like affleck ,Mcconaughey has had a career resurgence with films like
Killer Joe
Mud
Magic Mike
Lincoln Lawyer
upcoming HBO Mini-Series True Detective's with Woody Harrelson
Scorsese's The Wolf of Wallstreet
The Dallas Buyers Club
Chris Nolan's Interstellar
i would love him as lex he is same age range as affleck too where he is older but doesn't look too old

They don't care or look at fanboys casting. These movies are for the general audience first and foremost not the fans. Otherwise Affleck wouldn't even be considered in the first place. That's exactly why I'm terrified of WB and Marvel and any studio watching boards like this closely. 'Cause some clueless fanboys might actually have even 2% of a chance to ruin a movie.
Still 200% against Bryan as Lex. He'd give one hell of a performance for an interpretation that would leave me cold.
