Yeah I have a feeling they've already found their Lex, and it's a big name.

A villain or group of villains who pose a great threat would have to bring Superman and Batman, along with other heroes together.

Yeah, Hamm would be good. There really are plenty of actors who could do the role justice, though I'm sure whoever they cast will infuriate some people 'round these parts.

Hamm's my second pick, right behind Michael C. Hall.

If Jon Hamm is Lex i want a scene with him drinking and Old Fashined while smoking Lucky Strike. Just a reference !

Leo, Denzel, Whalberg, Cruise, Pitt, Hanks, Clooney, Damon, Gosling, Cooper, Bale, Jackman, RDJ

Can't think of many more BIG name actors in or around the right age range of that list many can be scratched off for various reasons - the only viable option I see is Leo and that would be interesting. I suspect it may not be a big name. I do think they already have it locked down, and I'm fairly certain it will be beytter than any Lex we've had in the past.

would be kinda hard to not top the previous Lex's, Hackman was a joke, and Spacey, despite being good casting, was basically just a slightly more intimidating, but completely unispired version of Hackman's Lex. I still say Jon Hamm for Lex.

I don't think he's going for Lex, he looks like he would be like Metallo.

Yeah... I was assuming they'd go for an Oscar-caliber actor again for the villain, but the budget for this thing must already be so big.

Or never mind that ^. There's still Lex, I'm sure he'll be an Oscar guy.

Well Variety is reporting that Callan Mulvey is in the running for the main villan but they are not saying if its Lex.

WHERE are you people getting Doomsday from?

How does Doomsday make any sense THIS early in Superman's career?

There have been rumors from a semi reliable source that Doomsday will be in this movie.

I sincerely doubt he is.

The right thing to do is introduce Lex, set him up, and bring in a villain Lex can "create" and control.

Namely Metallo. He also cements Lex's and Superman's hate for each other as well as Kryptonite itself.

Doomsday was created for one thing and one thing only: killing Superman. They will not kill Superman THIS early.

Comic books and Hollywood don't go hand in hand nor do they represent one type of story-arc or go by the book on how a certain villain is portrayed. If Doomsday will be used, he will be treated no different. The concept of Doomsday will be treated fairly for what he is meant to represent, which is a Kryptonian lab-rat that is an indestructible killing machine that can give Supes a run for his money in threatening to injure him to a point where no other being in this galaxy can even dream of doing. He would be a mindless terror with one purpose and one purpose only, but his concepts can be manipulate through other sub-plots and/or origin that doesn't necc. have to end in the Death of Superman. He will hold more substance than that if he will make it onscreen in this complicated universe Snyder is creating.

Superman killed zod by snapping his neck

I have seen it. That is true. Zod's threat to Supes still won't match what Doomsday will bring. Doomsday is a mass of nothing. A mixture of failed genetic particles that is reborn time and time again. Zod was actually a living creature and Superman's equal in comparison. Doomsday is basically a genetically engineered killing machine that will take a LITTLE BIT more than the twisting of the neck to kill. True, Supes and Doomsday both died by brute force but again, not everything needs to follow the comic books line for line in transitioning from paper to the big screen.

Doomsday's only purpose is to kill Superman.

If he doesn't do that, he's literally nothing other than a dumber Solomon Grundy.

Just a big brutish hulk.

Metallo with Lex pulling his strings is infinitely better for the second movie in this franchise.
