If only Grant Morrison could act Luthor as well as he can write him.

We'd have to see his American accent :funny:

But then, it means that there could be another potential writer to clean up after Goyer (who hopefully won't make too many missteps this time around) :yay:

:csad:

I like that suggestion. Good actor, looks good bald, and looks like he could be a nice guy :)

He's a a decent actor haven't seen him in a long time in a movie last one was I think The Time Traveler's Wife and he's good in Munich.

He was the villain in the 2009 Star Trek movie. The character was simply mediocre, but Bana's performance was good.

He is, but that means he plays boring roles strangely well, hence Hector in Troy.

I thought his performance in Munich was good. I don't really care for him in anything else, though.

I went to a Q&A event with Morrison where someone asked him about playing Lex Luthor, and he joked about how he could play the part, saying in a decent American accent:

"You're f***ed now! Superman, I put Kryptonite on your toilet seat!"

And thanks for the spoilery image from the HOMELAND finale. It seems the Lex Luthor Casting Thread is THE place to go to get all my American TV spoiler needs.

I don't want to get into specifics that may spoil it for other people, but...

The penultimate episode, which aired in the UK last night, set up Damian Lewis' character in an inescapable situation where it seemed utterly impossible for him to get out of it alive. Your picture, which due to factors I won't go into could only come from the finale - which doesn't air in the UK until Sunday - shows that he escaped from said situation.

A name that just popped in my head. Could a guy like Colin Farrell pull off Lex?

No, he's only good at playing idiots. Funny that.

His one shot at playing a megalomaniac- Alexander- was dreadful.

While I usually like your suggestions, I'm not sure about this one. I've never found him to be that good of an actor. He seems to get goofy when he tries to be intense/angry.

We need to keep away from the Daredevil connection. :o

I still believe in Batffleck.

That's true with the Daredevil connection. I don't think I ever saw Colin Farrell mentioned before and think he would be a "out of the box" choice when it comes to more of a bad-boy look that has that look in his eye. True, Lex may be out of his league with his acting skills but I thought he was worth mentioning.

As for Batfleck, everyday that goes by I truly do believe Affleck is going nail it. I think he's going to truly be a great Bruce Wayne/Batman and put enough of his spin on it to make an impressive impact.

The only thing I really liked Colin Farrell in is Phone Booth.

Farrell was also pretty good in Minority Report.

He's also got a cool American accent. It's got a nice grit.
