Like I said, I'm quite surprised that we got news of WW's casting BEFORE Lex.

I'll be the one to say it...Wondy is second tier, which is why she has a second tier actor playing her. IMO, Lex's casting will likely be the last major casting announced and he will likely be A-list.

Hate to disillusion you, but I assure you in the eyes of WB/DCE she is most certainly second-tier. Just consider for the last film, SR, they got an Oscar-winning actor to play Lex Luthor. He will get that same treatment again. Yet for Wondy...she gets some girl nobody really knows. Second tier...

JP is a great talent, no doubt... I would accept him, but until I saw him in the part... Let's just say I really had a different type in mind.

However, it’s very early in the process and even if Warners offers Phoenix a role, it’s not clear he would accept as the actor has steered clear of big-budget pics in the past few years, leaning towards movies with a more prestige feel.

Regardless of whether Phoenix accepts or not this proves what some people were in denial about, WB is going after a respected big name movie actor, not a T.V star. Maybe Amy Adams can talk him into it.

Hmm... How long ago was GLADIATOR? It has been a quite a few years since he's done anything even approaching a summer tentpole film.
