Is anyone concerned about his (Cranston's) age at all? Isn't he older than Kevin Spacey?

How old were Hackman and Spacey when they played the part? Just curious...

I'm more concerned about his hands, you know, the more important issue. :o

:cwink:

I'd be more than happy if he was cast. I would be even happier if Phoenix got cast. And I'm cool with Denzel too. Most of these Lex rumors don't bother me at all, because mostly tremendous actors have been rumored for the role.

Same here. To me it's more about the writing than the age. My preference is to not have the old and funny Lex. Should Cranston be cast, he won't be playing that guy. Not if they were targeting the likes of Phoenix.

He is too old to play the character in the way that many people professed to want. I'm less fussy. Evil businessmen come in all ages.

True...I'm just wondering how it would be. Like he'd be twice the age of Cavill's Superman.

Aaron Paul for Barry Flash.

You can't tell me if Aaron Paul was Flash you would prefer the Glee CW Flash over him.

It was a joke, it would just be funny to look up on the screen and see Walter & Jessie causing trouble for Superman hahaha

I think Cranston is a bit old for Lex, but if he's cast I won't complain at all. Fantastic actor...guy has a lot of range.

I think Cranston's age would be fine - it gives him experience and almost a father-figure type look - even though I know he won't be giving Superman and caring advice, but that dynamic could be interesting. Also, an older Lex may give the illusion of trustworthiness more than some sharp, young Lex.

Hackman was 48 and Spacey 47.

If Cranston gets the role of Lex - simply put: BRING IT!

The more and more I see of Cranston, the more and more I literally do think he's perfect for the role. Of course a cast like Phenoix is huge, but I think Cranston has more range when it comes to portraying the bad guy and is more open to accepting these types of roles that would give the studio a more positive vibe than JP's unwillingness or unpredictability.

What he says at 1:31-1:44 is one of the things that has me excited that if Cranston is our Lex, that he would outright understand where Lex is coming from and can morph into this character with EASE.

I have it in good authority that Brian Cranston will be announced as Lex Luthor very soon. I mean there is no reason to trust me, but I know someone that knows someone...but I'm sure others have heard this as well.

Where is the Cranston rumour coming from? Not that I dislike it since I love watching Bryan Cranston. My only problem is that I don't want Lex Luthor to be Heisenberg v.2.0, I'd like for him to have his own unique identity.

Not sure if you're being serious.

Cranston can sound like a genius quite easily, as well. The way he talks has an intelligent vibe to it.

I won't complain if he's cast personally. Guy is fantastic and is so versatile.

Are we still on Cranston as lex or are there new rumors?
Im not against it, but I feel like there are other options.

I think whoever they cast will do a fine job because the role is so perfect to just eat up scenery with.

However, if it isn't Phoenix after those rumors started, I'll be a little let down.

He would add such a sense of "importance" to the role and a gravitas. You need someone like that to go against friggin Batman AND Superman at the same time.

You got to take it with a grain of salt and try not to be too involved in how you react to certain rumors. I'm seatbelted in and going along for the ride but I won't allow myself to latch on emotionally to a rumor like Phenoix because there's a ton going on behind the scenes that will never, ever make it out to the public and most rumors are falsities so I'll allow myself to entertain the idea but never fully trust in a rumor for the sake of being let down.

From what I hear, it's all but officially announced. Again, I'm not an insider, but I've closed my Lex Luthor speculation book with plans of not opening it again.
