BvS Likely Deductions About Who'll Be Cast as the Next Batman

Yep, none of us should be taking rumors to heart. Older Batman isn't 100% legit until Warners/Snyder says so.

So I read on Batman on Film that he has some reliable sources that Batman is going to be an older more seasoned guy in his 40's. So looks like Hamm, Urban, Affleck, Caviezel, and others are back in the mix. Younger guys are out

I dunno, man... Batman on Film was a bang-on, reliable source for news in 2004. By 2007 their credibility was becoming increasingly tenuous after a series of bad reports. By 2010 they were widely regarded as a joke. I fear referring to them for news scoops in 2013 is about on par with referring to a folded-up piece of paper you found lying on the sidewalk.

Agree to disagree but to buy a new actor as an established Batman is a little and to take, the new reboot Batman should be in the early years of his career.
If theyre making solo movies for sure, but we don't know if they will. They may not want to do that yet. Jett is saying the actor who will be chosen for this will be older and wont be doing solo movies. So maybe he does a couple of team-ups then they recast a younger actor for the solos, going back in time like 10 years prior, showing Bats in his prime.

High IQ yes but when he anticipates every single thing it just becomes boring. I guess it's how extreme it is. It annoyed me in the JL cartoons how he just knew everything and he made Superman look an idiot at times.
I agree.

No arguments there.

It seems like ElMayimbe is thinking Bale is coming back but he is somebody who wants Jon Hamm for Batman too.

Jett thinks it's a reboot and theyre casting older actors in their 40s.

Tbh I think Jett should give it u, have you read his reviews on there, he never says how good anything us, he just drops his lines about the Dark Knight films been the best thing ever then rambles some crap about not revealing spoilers.

Scrawny? How is that?
I remember being surprised by it when watching "Town". I say surprised because he always seemed to have a lot of presence in "Mad Men". Perhaps "Town" had a cast of giants?

Only if you knew the words on that piece of paper were written by an idiot.

At least both seem to be indirectly confirming that WB wants to go older with the role.

Hard to deny for an older Batman

As I said before though he's said before he isn't interested in superhero films

As time goes by, my número uno choice for Bruce/the Bat (Michael Fassbender) seems not just unlikely but impossible ..Damn you X-Men movies!! :exp:
[What a shame. He would have been excellent in the role IMO] So I am now officially jumping back on the Anson Mount bandwagon and hoping for the best!

@ansonmount: Whoa. Article didnt mean I've been offered. Just about internet chatter.RT @Loki_Poe: will soon become #BATMAN!

Not quite. Here's what he said:

"My name has come up in a lot of superhero discussions. It’s a tough thing, you know? It’s a tough game to get into. I have mad, crazy respect for the people that can pull it off because it’s something that can be done poorly so easily. But, you know, it’s a big commitment and it’s probably something that, unless it’s the right thing, it’s probably not so much my jam.”

If indeed WB is looking for an older Batman then Hamm is my numero uno (dream come true) choice.

Exactly. Hamm will do it if it's perfect. This Batman probably calls for an older take, with a director he's worked with, when his schedule is free, etc. This may change Hamm's mind.

Oh right I'd read something else but it was around the time when he was rumoured for Superman.

Well, if they are indeed looking for an older Batman, then my picks are Jon Hamm, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Karl Urban, in that order.

No thanks to Jim Caviezel.

If its older then Brolin would be a good choice.

I just watched Men in Black 3 today and I thought it was really good, infact Brolin was fantastic in it.

I don't watch Mad Men, so I've been doing just a little catch up on youtube. Hamm sort of looks the part, but I just feel like he lacks a certain quality. Even though Bruce Wayne is a hero and essentially a good person, there's a terrible something that was born in him the moment he realized his parents were gone forever. I could be wrong, but I just don't see Hamm as being able to convey that ever so subtle hint of darkness that Batman, in my opinion, requires. His voice is also very raspy, and we know Bruce Wayne would never even get close to a ciggy. My thoughts.

A lot of clips on youtube don't show his darkness apparently. I don't follow the show but ive heard things.

I personally don't see them going for a Batman in his 40s. All the evidence of the recent trend in superhero movie casting, combined with the recent trend towards de-aging all the heroes in the comics, mixed in with the practical consideration of likely wanting an actor who can play this highly physical role for many years to come, makes me think it's most likely they'll skew young for Batman. I'm expecting someone within the age range of late 20s to mid 30s.
