Sooooo she probably killed in the audition. Add the fact that she is gorgeous and she is a better singer than most actresses. I think her audition most have been money. Disney is literally courting controversy for her.

Krypton star Cameron Cuffe and Joanh Hauer-King are reportedly in the running for the coveted role of Prince Eric in Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid. Cameron Cuffe and Jonah Hauer-King both tested Monday for director Rob Marshall in London at the legendary Pinewood Studios.

Harry Styles recently passed on the role after being in talks, Shazam! star Asher Angel revealed back in July that he had auditioned, but from what we’ve heard he isn’t the studios ideal choice due to his age. 13 Reasons Why actor Christian Navarro also had an audition but Disney passed. Names we had also heard that may also get an audition or approached about the role include Jordan Fisher, Jacob Elordi, Timothee Chalamet, Cole Sprouse, and Niall Horan. But those names have yet to pop-up as of today.

Alan Menken (Aladdin) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (Moana) will be remastering the music from the original film, while also adding brand new songs, which would include one a new solo for Prince Eric… that’s what we hear that is.

To be honest, here comes my spicy take. I would like prince Eric to be even more of a generic love interest. As in he doesn’t need to be the one that saves the day in the end, that should be Ariel.

Well, might effect the entire theme of her wanting to explore beyond the ocean. I always loved that part of Ariel, I suppose as a gay man, because I love that she wasn’t happy where she was so she craved moving somewhere more tolerant so she could be loved and be happy.

but yeah maybe it could end with her and Eric deciding to travel together rather than just with a big wedding number. Or maybe even working it out so she can travel between the oceans and the earth. Maybe she and Eric can decide to travel to educate people to live with the ocean instead of ruthlessly pillaging it? That would be cool

She doesn’t necessarily need Eric to travel. She can just decide the world is bigger than just some dude and go off on her own. He’s what gets her to originally want legs and be human, but she grows out of it by the end.

He was the lead on the Krypton Tv show. His character was dull as dishwater but his acting was fine. Should be sufficient for Eric, lol.
