I mean there are guys who are getting close like RDJ, almost a decade. But still, it's something really special.

Trailer breakdown from Mangold. I always appreciate Jim's insight, as he's quite the eloquent guy. Singer not so much in these interviews.

Also that Cash song may have a bit more significance than we originally thought.

Can't imagine how great it must feel for Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost to see their creation on the big screen.

What a beautiful trailer and a stunning looking film.

Looks like it will be the send-off "Old Man" Logan deserves.

Man this doesn't look like an X-Men or comic movie at all. I hope they don't mess it up bc I'm intrigued

I mean, if you don't at least feel something warm inside looking at that, idk man.

Love that comparison.

Visually, the last two Wolverine films have been pretty great.

In Days of Future Past, they mentioned sending Logan back fifty years to 1973, meaning the future was set in 2023. Supposedly Logan the movie takes place in 2024. So there's nothing more incredulous about Charles being alive in Logan than being alive in DOFP.

Also, as others have pointed out, Charles seems very old and frail and on his way out in Logan.

My question....what timeline is this? Is this a dark alternate timeline like the Sentinels in DOFP, or this the one true way that the future ends up for mutants and the X-Men?

If so....well, that's depressing.

Sentinels from DOFP after Logan go back in time dont exist. That timeline was erased. And my guess that future in 2023 never happens. That doesnt mean Sentinels didnt exist somewhere before or after. Just that same future with advanced Sentinels isnt there anymore and those events dont exist.

And something similar goes for x-mens and mutants. Just cause events with Sentinels are erased doesnt mean something in the future, some kind of different event happens which erases all mutants. My guess is some kind of virus.

Also this is something pretty important in all this. Time is like a river, you can change the flow of the river, but it always finds its way to correct itself.

Best looking Wolverine movie yet.

Supposedly 2024.

That's pretty damn sad then. :funny:

I've never been a big proponent of an R rated Wolverine film, but what the ****, this could be something we could get once and it looks like it could work. I just don't want gratuitous violence.

I actually can't stop watching the trailer, this has shot up my anticipated list. I have said fir a while though Mangold is an under rated director. I hope Marvel or WB can nab him for another CBM down the line.

Also, I just realised something, the moment towards the end of the trailer where X23 has glasses on and comes to hold Logan's hand, he is in a wooded area with [BLACKOUT]a spade in his hands, I think he has just buried a dead Xavier[/BLACKOUT]. If so, that will kill me so much.

So this is the new timeline right? The one in which Logan wakes up at the end of Days of Future past? If so then what the hell happened again? I know that dark futures are the X-Men's thing but jeez.

Thanks for the link.

Probably Pierce/Essex curtailing the mutant population Children of Men style. Wouldn't put too much stock in that part though, all that matters is Pierce/Essex are doing genetic manipulation/creating mutant weapons/mutates etc. etc. Mangold did confirm it takes place after the ending of DOFP though.

At this point, everyone should probably just save themselves the headache

"The X-Men movies are all standalone films with no continuity"

Best way to view them

My theory on why Wolverine looks old (and Xavier isn't dead yet):
- Some kind of virus broke out that killed most mutants
- Wolvies healing factor goes into overdrive mode to combat said virus
--> Accelerated aging and scar tissues cause the healing factor can't keep up/cope with the aggressive virus (-> failing healing factor)
- The girl is immune to said virus (?) (Children of Men style)
- After credits scene sees Cable (and Deadpool) show up to start another time travel adventure (potentially with Laura).

Fox at it again.

Wait that doesn't explain why Xavier is still alive if the virus is deadly for mutants... maybe the virus does just try to suppress the powers?

I really hope it's some kind of virus because I can't accept the fact that Wolvies healing factor just suddenly fails and has him age like that AND Xavier is still alive and kicking (although looking like he is about to say bye).

Yea, way to make that "everyone is alive again" happy ending of DOFP depressing as ****.

Yup. So happy for Craig Kyle and Chris Yost. Its the same for Bruce Timm and Dini. Finally seeing their creation appear in Suicide Squad. Firestar is the only cartoon to comics character left that I want to see on the big screen.

Honestly, this movie would make a lot of sense if they were rebooting everything. The end of the singer x-men saga.

Yet they let singer direct an entirely new cast with an appearance from Hugh's wolverine. Fox is so confusing lol. They really should just use Deadpool as the starting point for the rebooted x-men universe with x-force and new mutants on.
