oh also, can't believe Jackman was younger than me in the first X-Men

What have I done with my life?!

At this point, everyone should probably just save themselves the headache

"The X-Men movies are all standalone films with no continuity"

Best way to view them

X-Men: Apocalypse apparently forgot that it was Mystique who had Wolverine at the end of DOFP, not the real Stryker.

something mangold said in interview that i didn't notice was that the actor playing Caliban is 6'7 did'nt know he was that big much more different than the one in XMA

Stephen Merchant is extremely tall, yes. And the recasting is yet another confusing continuity issue making it unclear if they're supposed to be the "same" Caliban.

Stil don't get why people have an issue with this, it was shown in apocalypse she was going around saving mutants and she saved wolverine so technically we found out what that was about and since it was 10 years later why would she still have him? because the end of DOFP felt like a cliff hanger? it is a weird one that people are hung up on that when nothing was promised there at all as to what it meant.

Wow, the trailer has more sophisticated touched than it appears...

the ending of a movie about time-travelling to change the past implied that things had successfully been changed, but then the next film ten years later Logan still ended up in the same exact place

the producers and director can say it's the whole "flowing river" time theory or whatever, but it's not hard to see why people (and especially general audiences who don't listen to interviews) would think that was a little weird

Man, it's been a while since I re-watched a Trailer this often.

Honestly, this movie would make a lot of sense if they were rebooting everything. The end of the singer x-men saga.

Yet they let singer direct an entirely new cast with an appearance from Hugh's wolverine. Fox is so confusing lol. They really should just use Deadpool as the starting point for the rebooted x-men universe with x-force and new mutants on.
They don't even officially need to reboot for that. Just make films in the present that align with what Deadpool established and let the flagship films catch up in a couple films depending on where they set Deadpool. They just gotta stop making drastic leaps like killing off mutants with some virus and not contradict Deadpool and or this film and they'll be fine.

Hopefully this film will also explain how Logan fell back into Weapon X's hands though. (Though it's not really necessary since they had that whole "time is immutable" bit from DOFP, thereby establishing that certain things will play out in a similar fashion in the future) A little flashback filling in the gaps of Logan's time on the X-Men post 1983 to 2024 would be good.

So......any chance for the Brown/ Gold costume? :woot:

I kid, I kid (but seriously, I want my brown costume at some point) :cmad:

You're probably SoL, sorry

Maybe you'll get X-23 in the blue and gold some day though :whatever:

I think people thought we were promised some kind of surprised explanation but overall she was saving mutants at the start of DOFP, at the end of DOFP and the start of Apocalypse, thats pretty much the explanation right there.

But hey there was 10 years inbetween DOFP and Apocalypse so its not unreasonable to think logan could meet stryker in that time since unless stryker had been holding him for years we could probably guess it was around 1983 that logan went in for the experiment anyway

But yeah back to logan.

This emotions:csad::csad::csad:

Just imagine how Xavier feels, if he's lost all his kids all over again (it damn near destroyed him the first time in DOFP), and then recapturing a tiny scrap of it at that dinner table with Logan and the girl.

Patrick is so gonna bring the feels, I can already tell. The weariness and frailty, but still the eternal compassion and hope ("someone has come along").
You damn right:cry:

Forget the tights. I hope he'll eventually get the duster.

Yeah that probably won't happen as its too much explanation when its not about what happened in those gaps but more about the next step of logans life.

Seems to me they're clearly going for more Death of Wolverine than OML:

which is.... unfortunate

Because they set up something potentially really interesting and different as the cliffhanger of that film, only to then do nothing with it in favor of "well Stryker just has him again, and we're not bothering to tell you HOW Stryker even got him." So freaking disappointing and lame.

And no, I don't buy the "well she was helping other mutants" because that wasn't the cliffhanger of the movie. Don't do something like that if you have no intentions of paying it off, or explaining why Logan is in Weapon X all of a sudden in the next movie.

You guys think theyre really gonna go DARK with it and have Wolvie be the one who annihilated the Xmen? Like the comic? Or is that bridge too far?

I suppose the question is do we need an explanation to why logan is there? after a 10 year period?

And to be fair her helping logan was her helping mutants, we all just assumed it was a cliffhanger.

Perhaps the frustration is in the fact that people expected some surprise conclusion to it when it just went the same direction anyway

Anyway back to logan!

Man, it looks like he's burying someone in that last (?) scene...

If it's Charles... ohhh man... :( I don't think I'll be able to hold back the tears.

Bridge to far, i doubt xavier would be nice to logan about that.

Charles is definitely dying in this.

I would've preferred to close the door on the original cast with DOFP (including Hugh) just because that ending was so good, but if Logan is great, then I can't be mad about it.
