Logan Logan - news & discussion - Part 4

So now we wonder how Fox builds on this momentum. Between this, Deadpool, and Legion- and hopefully Boone's take on New Mutants- they have to realize that thinking outside the box is what helps keep the franchise fresh instead of falling back on Kinberg and Singer.

With Kinberg involved I'm not enthused about Supernova at all. Maybe DoFP and Deadpool raised my expectations but X: Apocalypse was a real let down.

At this point I don't know how they're going to make X-Men exciting again, especially with all the praise Logan is getting.

Young, teenage X-Men in the past is inferior to older X-Men in a modern/future setting.

Shame for Kinberg everybody forgot he is the producer of everything.
In fact, Noah Hawley (Legion) is his friend and he asked him to make Legion at the beginning. He isn't a good writer but don't forget he works with everybody in X-Men universe.

Yeah, as a producer I don't mind Kinberg at all. In fact, according to the Deadpool writers, Kinberg as a producer is part of the reason that movie's tone was safeguarded during production. It's him in the writer or possibly director's chair where I have the problem.

A buddy of mine who just saw the film said it might be the most violent superhero film too.

A few people have said Deadpool doesn't even come close to this movie in terms of violence.

Oh, I'm just trying to think of violent or bloody superhero films in addition to the ones named, since ones like Watchmen or The Dark Knight, a lot of the terror comes from what's not shown.

Collider said there are times it seems like a horror movie.

These Logan reviews have me all like: :mrk:

Fox regains it's title as the most inconsistent studio making cbm's.

I don't know if anybody listed this.....

The BBFC lists the exact run time as 137 minutes 7 seconds.

The longest run time of a theatrical version of an X-Men movie except for Apocalypse.

Now we just gotta see how far this movie truly goes. Let's hope we're talking about this movie come next winter as the Oscar's come around so we can all rally behind Ryan Reynolds as he leads this Oscar hype train lol.

In all seriousness, this movie seems to have done everything. I'm ecstatic.

They've had two bad Marvel CBMs this decade. Like them or not, they've been more on the good side than bad side - occasionally striking greatness. They've learned from their mistakes and hopefully we'll continue to be more good than bad.

pretty much and XMA was more forgettable and generic than bad F4 was trash tho lol

fox this decade with X_men related titles take more risks

first class was 60's silver age marvel film and nodd to classic bond films

the wolverine was film noir set in japan inspired by japanese saga

Days of future past was adaptan of one of most popular X-men stories and unlike dark phoenix they nailed it.

Deadpool was r rated action comedy woth sex and bloody violence

Apocalypse was hero vs villain film in disaster film in year where comic book films were mostly revenge yawns or heroes vs heroes

and now logan is r rated graphicly violent western

In my mind some of these would never be done by marvel studios and i feel
it's warner brothers which is true clustercrap of studio right now.

Some may not like apocalypse.some may think deadpool or first class overrated but fox with X-Men related properties are doing different films.

It almost makes you wonder how F4 ended up crashing and burning so badly when they have stuff like this blossoming?
