I hope discussions about this film won't be reduced to talks how it kicked yet another politician's ass...

with trump down to 39% approal and failing to get crows like he did during election a film which can be called pissing him and supporters off can only help it's box office

Rogue One really suffered when they tried to boycott that....oh, wait. :funny:

Wow, had no idea. What a bunch of nonsense.

Oh yeah. They’re the same ones who tried to boycott Hamilton on Broadway after the Mike Pence thing. That went on to break house records a week later. :funny:

Haha, these really are some odd times.

Hope they enjoyed not seeing a great SW flick with one of the best Vader moments I guess.

Totally. Hell, my dad and I saw Rogue One again just to take a break from seeing that dope in the news.

Anyway....back to the Logan discussion. We keep talking about Trump in here, we’re going to need to have the forum fumigated.

Same people who "boycotted" Starbucks by going to Starbucks, handing Starbucks their money, and getting the Starbucks barista to write "Merry Christmas," instead of their names, on the cups.

I feel like I need to clarify some things... not all Trump supporters are whiny little bi***es that feel the need to boycott everything that is "anti-Trump"... I know, because I am a Trump supporter. Yeah, that's right, I said it. You can bash me, call me stupid, whatever, it won't phase me. I, for one, chose not to judge a person based on political views.

The Rogue One boycott from the right was f**king stupid, and I wanted no part of it. My wife and I have seen Rogue One multiple times and we love it.

The Starbucks boycott is f***ing stupid. I personally chose not to get Starbucks because they're too expensive. I can get coffee much cheaper elsewhere.

The Budweiser Super Bowl commercial that the alt-right threw a temper tantrum about, I thought was amazing! Probably my favorite Super Bowl commercial this year.

And yeah, I heard that Logan sends a "pro-immigration" message, and a lot of Trump supporters will probably piss and moan and call for a boycott. This Trump supporter doesn't give a s**t. I'm seeing Logan, probably multiple times, and it'll probably end up being one of my favorite movies of the year.

Had to get that off my chest. I hope, as both a comic book nerd and a Wolverine fan, that we can all be friends still. Good day, all.

You have right to vote for or support who you want to.I actully cast my vote for trump last november not because i have any great love for him but as protest against Clinton.attacking voters is dumb thing.

Since i now declare myself an independent after years as democrat i can now freely call out both sides.Trump supporters who threaten boycats of rogue on,starbucks, logan, and others are stupid but then so is clinton supporters who consently attack those who supported bernie sanders like me
and ended up not voting or voting for trump or stein or johnson.

I look forward to seeing Logan.at this point most anticapted film of 2017 as major X-Men fan.only other film that is coming that is close is the Last Jedi.

That post actually just makes me think highly of you. I'm not gonna go into politics, or my personal believes, I think there are probably an equal amount of things we agree and disagree on (and that's fine). But the moment we stop acknowledging that there are two sides to every conflict, that both sides want to do the right thing, is the moment we've lost. That goes for both liberals and republicans. We're all humans in the end. And I think all us can agree that Logan is going to be one hell of a ride. :woot:

So what the heck... There is an early fan screening this Friday in NYC hosted by Jackman and Mangold??? Someone mentioned it in the CBM comments. I know that's not exactly trustworthy, but it seemed serious and got my attention.

Does anyone know anything about this event?

Edit: Damn, fans CAN attend the red carpet premiere screening in NYC. I had no idea about this. There were RSVP tickets up for it just like DOFP(now it's just a waitlist) and the line for fans begins at 3pm. First come first serve basis. There is even a costuming contest happening as with DOFP.

It's happening at the Rose Theater, Time Warner Center this Friday I guess.

Oh well! Nobody was talking about this at all, at least not here, so I missed it.

What.

Dammit, I have an eye doctor appt on Friday...

It is going to be playing at the 4DX theater on 42nd St. I saw Rogue One there...it’s SO cool. The seats move and they do special effects (like wind, rain and lightning) in the theater. It’s like being on Star Tours for 2 hours.

Yeah that sounds super fun. I haven't been to a 4D showing of anything yet, but I want to eventually. For this kind of movie I feel like it's not as appropriate, since it's more of a character study lol. But a second time around for sure.

I already have my tickets for the 7pm March 2nd showing at AMC Empire 25 in Times Square. The Dolby Atmos theater room, which I've never been to. I'm going to hit up a local AMC IMAX the next day likely.

I'm still depressed about missing this premiere though. I feel like a lesser fan now lol. Hugh as Wolvie means more to me than any other cinematic performance and I wanted to make seeing Logan as special as I could. Bah!

Same for the UK here. Although me and friends have booked our tickets for the 5th of March (too much stuff to do throughout that week).

The timing is/was tricky for me too. I plan on seeing it again on March 4 or 5 with a friend of mine in IMAX (Feb 28th is 'normal').

So good to see Dafne finally interact with Hugh. So many great pictures of Jim, Hugh, Dafne and Patrick together. They legit look like a family.

So, guys. Since this is Jackman's last take on the character (which I grew up with and loved), I am doing a goodbye X-marathon before seeing Logan. I am thinking of the following order:

1.X-Men
2.X2
3.X3
4.The Wolverine

As you can see, I am excluding Origins, but I am hesitating - do you think I should include it in the order? I really don't want to as it is not very good, but at the same time it is part of Hugh's journey with the character so skipping it would be... irrational?
What would you recommend me? Would you see it or not?

Unrelated, sort of, but there's a hardcore section of fandom I'll never understand. Going on this back and forth with a guy on Twitter who says that going to see Logan contributes to Marvel Studios not getting the X-Men film rights, so as a result, people shouldn't see the movie if they want mutants in the MCU.

What kind of logic is that? It's one thing to be petty like that, it's another to deprive yourself of what looks to be an enjoyable film just because mutants aren't in the universe you want them in.

Keep Origins out, but put DOFP as #5.

There's always a few weird people in fandoms. That's usually how they work. I'd hate to miss out on the cinematic debut of the New Mutants and the Demon Bear Saga, Domino and Cable, and Noah Hawley's visionary work on Legion. But that's just me.

@venom0706 - I'd definitely include DOFP too. I feel like DOFP went a long way towards building that father-son dynamic for Logan. I personally think Singer builds upon what Hugh and Jim refined in terms of the characterization of Wolverine in the film as well.

I am doing the same but I included Origins and intend to include DOFP.
