It really made his last moments some of the most satisfactory among CBM villains. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

Yeah the way he went was almost horror like, surrounded by those kids it was pretty freaky and yeah well deserved for his treatment of others in the film.

I loved the look of the Reavers all round, yeah they were fodder pretty much but their design fitted into the world so well.

I wonder which 7 of the xmen Xavier killed with his seizure.

I think Rogue was one of them. He was staring wistfully at the comic panel of Rogue in the bar (the scene where he discovered that the coordinates of Eden was the same as the coordinates from the comic book).

Is it safe to assume that Jean is dead as well? Logan seems like he has literally nothing to live for, and he mentions that everyone he cares for dies (which to be fair is a running theme with him).

10/10. was enthralled and emotionally taken with the movie. No other comic book movie has done that for me as much. I loved tdk for ledger but this overall surpasses that for me. Deadpool was cool but its not Logan by a longshot. I am easily pleased though but i dont tear up that easily. bravo to all involved

I loved Donald Pierce. It wasn't his film and he existed to move the protagonists from A to B, so I don't care that we didn't get a lot out of him. Boyd did a great job with the role, he was hateable as ****.

I too thought Holbrook was great as Donald Pierce. Even though in the 2nd half of the movie his presence diminished he was still very hatable in his final scenes.

Holbrook is overall a very good actor. He nailed this role, he was as good as he could be. I'd like to see him play some major parts in movies. He already did great on the small screen with Narcos.

The only flaws I saw were
-They didn't play the Johnny Cash version of Hurt over the end credits. They played The Man Comes Around instead
-The pacing was off at times
-At the beginning they really just felt like "oh we can finally say f***. Lets say it as many times as we can" and it just came off as a middle schooler who just learned to curse. But it got better
-They didn't create the greatest moment from the Old Man Logan comic

But other than that. It was phenomenal. 9/10

Excellent film all around. This really does feel like the culmination of the X-Men saga going back to 2000. It gives us arguably the best we've seen of both Jackman and Stewart as they act their hearts out and delivers the rage-filled Logan that we've wanted for years. It's a visceral experience and Logan's fight with X-24 made me remember how sanitized Logan's fights with Sabretooth were in Origins.

But Mangold hasn't made a great comic book film. He's made a great film experience. I would go as far as stacking this along the lines of Batman Begins or The Dark Knight as far as being an emotional experience. This is a bleak world where Mangold pulls you along with some great direction and storytelling.

I like how ambiguous some things are, as well as not learning about the fates of the other X-Men until later in the film. Is this in the happy future post Days of Future Past? From Apocalypse's timeline? Doesn't matter. The focus is on here and now. And like Mangold said, the third act doesn't devolve into some CGI slugfest or potential end of the world disaster. It feels much more intimate than that.

And my word, Dafne Keen is going to blow up. She conveys so much emotion without a word that I might put her above Hit Girl or Eleven as far as range goes. Now Eleven might be a bit too far because we had an entire season of Stranger Things to know her versus one film, but this girl is something special here. While I'd like to see her play this role again, I wouldn't be upset if this was a one-and-done performance or time we see X-23.

Would give it a 9. Not that there's anything bad about the film in my mind right now, but it'd probably require another viewing...which may be next weekend even though Kong comes out then.

Really, between this, Legion, Deadpool, hopefully Fox starts changing its storytelling approach for the X-Men. While Kinberg did admit Apocalypse's shortcomings, it remains to be seen whether the next main series film will have leaned from that. Hopefully Josh Boone has something special for us with New Mutants.

Agreed, wonderful film, though for me personally it is NOT the culmination of the X-Men saga like a lot of people have been hyping it up to be.

I think it's because for me, DOFP did a perfect job at giving closure to almost all of the significant characters of the franchise. Logan on the other hand, focuses completely on Wolverine and Xavier, and even then it is only Wolverine who has a full character arc. The fates of the many other characters are left unknown.

In addition, a lot of DOFP's story threads were built on what came before from almost every single main X-Men movie. Logan is in its own standalone corner of the universe.

It's this reason that I still see X1, X2, X3, The Wolverine, First Class and DOFP as my personal 'main' X-Men saga. Logan for now is a 'what if' story, a beautiful tribute to Jackman and Stewart, and also a great set up for a possible X-23 movie. Dafne Keen was amazing.

Agreed, for me DOFP was the grand finale of the X-men saga and "Logan" is an epilogue of sorts. Something not completely necessary but something that puts an extra definitive bow on our lead protagonist but if you want to you can disregard it.

The fact that this movie is still on mind so much now makes this a 9 for me, rather than an 8.5 I think.

That's fair. At least the culmination probably of this particular take on Wolverine and Xavier, that'd probably be a better way for me to put it.

I don't think it matters whether some of the X-Men survived or not since they were not around in Logan anyway.

Xavier was being taken care of by Logan in a world where mutants are slowly becoming extinct.

Just go along with the ride and see where its heading since this franchise isn't stopping on Logan, infact in many ways its just starting to open up.

I saw the movie last night and I thought it was really great. It had everything I wanted in a Wolverine film and more. It was so sad though. I have to admit that I shed tears at the end.

I thought it was a bit odd how it just kind of jumps from Logan slumping over I'm the car and Lara taking the wheel to them pulling up on North Dakota. I guess Logan was just out for two days but visually they didn't seem to switch locales. In general that area didn't look like any part of North Dakota that I've ever seen.

This movie was fantastic. Its easily over a 9, and it has become one of my favorite X-Men movies. Loved the emotional part of the story and also the gritty violence. X-23 was a bad ass in this as well.

The person I saw it with is from ND and said the same thing during the movie. I rationalize it by saying it's 2029 and ND could be a desert by then the way things are going. But the nitpick is valid.

Anyway, I never post here, but had to chime in to say this was the Wolverine movie I've been waiting for since I started reading X-Men back in the 70s. I'm so happy to be alive to see these stories and characters be treated respectfully and entertain a mass audience. Amazing times.

9.9999/10

Im still on cloud nine. Incredible movie. Cant think about anything else. It was so awesome!

I'd say The Man Comes Around was more fitting, and worked with the wallop in the heart of the ending.

Hurt would have been good too, but this was a slightly deeper (actual) Cash song too.

Spectacular. Definitely one of the greatest CBM's to date. Hugh was absolutely heartwrenching in this and took it up to another level. And down to the bone. So sad it will be his last and I don't envy the guy who has to fill his shoes. Amazing performances all around. Keene is a revelation and Patrick was sublime as always. A little over–the–top/on the nose with the political hand-wringing and a little too much of a slow burn at times, but those are small complaints in the big picture. This is a great achievement for all involved.

Emotional, moving film.

8/10

Masterfully executed, this movie is exactly what it wanted to be. Its dystopian flavor and morbid intensity permeates from the first scene and lasts even after the credits roll. Logan is the opposite of a "leave the theatre smiling" movie yet it's rich and complex.

24 hours later and I'm still haunted by the movie. Is that a good thing or a bad thing???

It's a one note grim film but man, WHAT A NOTE.

I can't say it's as entertaining as even The Wolverine, however. This movie may fall in to the "Million Dollar Baby" category for me. Seen it and it's exceptional film making yet I really don't want to watch it ever again.

Hurt would have been good too, but this was a slightly deeper (actual) Cash song too.

Cash has so many great songs that could've been included in the movie. Personally, my favorite Cash song is She Used To Love Me a Lot, and that's ironically the one that wouldn't make sense if it was included.

But Hurt is Logan's epitaph. It's spooky how lyrics of that song are relatable to the state in which Wolverine is in this film. I'm glad they used it in the trailer, I'm not sure how it would've worked in the movie, they would need to film a scene that fits perfectly with the song.

I've read some reactions from fans in my country, where I live... Here's the one that got me:

"Logan is very much a tragic character - it was already hard seeing him in pain in almost every movie he was in, and now he also dies this exact way. I don't know how I managed not to cry, but I surely had a lump in my throat. When the movie ended, it was priceless to see how a number of grown men in their 30s left the theater literally in tears."

Several grown men in my showing, myself included, were wiping away tears when the credits started rolling. Truly a moment I'll never forget.
