Wow. Give Hugh an Oscar. From start to finish, but wow his last line and then the cross being layed over to be an X. I was crying. I've literally spent half of my life watching Hugh play Wolverine so this was rough to watch. Kind of sucks that the Days of Future Past ending was so short lived.

Still don't get the thing about mutants. So they started poisoning mutants 25 years ago so they couldn't have kids. Where are all the mutants that are older than 25? If they had been poisoned for nearly 3 decades, why does Logan and Xavier fall apart so quickly in the few years since DOFP?

The person I saw it with is from ND and said the same thing during the movie. I rationalize it by saying it's 2029 and ND could be a desert by then the way things are going. But the nitpick is valid.

Anyway, I never post here, but had to chime in to say this was the Wolverine movie I've been waiting for since I started reading X-Men back in the 70s. I'm so happy to be alive to see these stories and characters be treated respectfully and entertain a mass audience. Amazing times.

9.9999/10

There are arid parts of North Dakota. The real issue here is the mountains and hills. It wasn't distinct from the Texas and Oklahoma settings. Wasn't clear they had gone anywhere.

Wow...

I dunno where to begin, but I loved this movie. Yes, there were certain scenes that brought me to tears like Charles' death and his burial and obviously the climax. Pretty sure this is the first superhero/comic film to do that to me.

The story and performances were excellent. The action & fighting scenes definitely exceeded my expectations. I think having the R rating really helped a lot in that regard because we finally got to see the Wolverine we always wanted.

The movie gets a solid 9/10 for me

Loved it. A solid 8.5/10 for me but rounded up to 9 in the poll. Random thoughts. Got a little misty eyed in a few spots. Did not like X-24 but did like Pierce. I wish some hadn't blown this movie out to be the end all be all. Patrick Stewart, what can I say.

Several grown men in my showing, myself included, were wiping away tears when the credits started rolling. Truly a moment I'll never forget.

I am 34 and had tears in my eyes during several moments, but especially at the end.

Words can't describe the feeling I have that an X-Men film is getting critical acclaim as a movie beyond the comic book genre, and being compared to The Dark Knight. It was beautifully shot, acted, told. It makes me wish that we were to get an ensemble film with this tone (the first two X-Men films come really close, but some characters lack development like we see here). My only complaint, which is minimal, is[BLACKOUT] I feel like the wasted a good opportunity on introducing a classic Wolverine villain as X-24, instead of a clone. Omega Red would've been perfect for that, or even an enhanced Sabretooth.[/BLACKOUT] Other than that, a deeply emotional experience for a long time X-Men fan. 9/10.

Thought this was pretty fantastic myself. I really appreciated the quieter moments, and even the action was quite good. I honestly don't know if I've ever gotten teary-eyed at of a CBM movie, but there's always a first for everyone.

X-24 was also excellent BTW, although I wasn't entirely on board with her being a child. I think it served the story well.

Probably the best X-Men film to date, although its got some competition.

10 / 10

I really, really liked it. There is so much heart and drama in this movie, and the performances by Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart were great. A moving story and a nice mold of different genres.

Bravo Fox. They've done it again, and obviously are not afraid of genre-bending their comic book movies to create great stories within their cinematic universe.

I think it's overlong but really well made all around. Top notch performances.

I loved it, 9/10 for me. I thought it was a great send off to the character. Everyone's performances were great.

Logan is one of the rare films that goes beyond a mere adaptation and becomes an essential part of its subject.

The film is savagely emotional, with a sincerity the source material has often struggled to achieve. Wolverine is an extremely over exposed character who has been hitting the same notes for so long that it's easy to become tone-deaf to them.

Logan, though, achieved a genuine humanity that reminded me why I gave a crap about the character in the first place.

Eighteen years of mediocre X-Films was worth it, just to see this movie.

Finally saw it tonight. Damn, I am emotionally wrecked right now. I knew this was the end, but that was one hell of a finish.

It was fantastic. I need to see it again just to take it all in. So emotional and brutal. The kid was outrageous. And Hugh and Patrick, I can’t say enough about them.

Just amazing...

Saw it for the second time tonight and it was even better. This is a film that begs for repeat viewings. I still cried in all 4 spots that I cried at the first time.

The film was what I expected; a strong, emotional farewell story. Jackman's performance was his most deep as Logan. A very intense ride.

8.0

It was really intense, and I really wanted to love this film simply because it's not structured like a blockbuster, which is commendable in the context of a preexisting superhero franchise, but at the end of the day, there wasn't enough meat in the story or characters for me. I didn't find it terribly dramatically interesting, and so the pain and drama felt kinda empty at times.

Maybe it's because I'm just coming off all these exceptional Oscar dramas like Moonlight.

Or maybe I've seen so much of Jackman's Wolverine in pain over the years that I'm just a little numb to seeing it.

Further to the earlier comments about my love of the film, I do in all fairness have to highlight that the film's villains were in my opinion not fully layered and very formulaic.

But I can't think of anything else at the moment as a fault other than this....

Great sendoff for a legendary character. As a lifelong Wolverine fan I couldn't be happier with this film. Just sad to say goodbye.

I'm mixed about this. Technically this was a fantastic film, probably the best composed X film to date. However I found myself bored quite frequently. I don't think the smaller scale worked for me, but I understand why its getting the praise it is. Still the film raised more questions that went unanswered, which heavily annoyed me. I know it would detract from the story, but still it's a pet peeve of mine. I also have no idea about the continuity of this "universe" anymore given the events and references mentioned. It also didn't have the emotional punch for me as I'm not too invested in the X-Men or Wolverine. I'd give it a 7.5-8/10.

I can't really think of anything wrong with this movie. I was wrecked. I can't get this movie out of my head. That ending was perfect. The most perfect and emotional ending since Toy Story 3 and the best superhero movie ending since The Dark Knight. Talk about hitting every single beat out of the park. I've spent most of my life watching Hugh Jackman as this character. I was 8 when that first film came out and now I'm 24 so watching this send off was incredibly cathartic. Losing Jackman as Logan and that ending it was like losing a part of myself in a way as dramatic as that sounds. But these feelings are possible because this story was incredible first and foremost. It told the best story of Logan on screen yet. Everything from that was a reward.

I'm really gonna miss Hugh Jackaman in this role. He went out with the dedication and excellence he's always given for this character and it paid off. And nine movies in, he's given his best performance. Usually by this point, an actor is either gone or sleep walking. Not Jackman. He reminded me why I love this character.

I literally tweeted last night that the only ending I can think of for comparison is Toy Story 3.

Has anyone gone back after watching Logan to watch The Wolverine? Or *shudders* Origins Wolverine? Normally after I watch a new CBM in a series like this, I like to go back and watch the movies that came before, but this time, I am struggling to put The Wolverine on, because I feel like its going to be hard going back to that movie on multiple levels.

No, went and rewatched Shane, (seemed more pertinent), anyone else?

I watched X1 and X2 yesterday.

The mention of that just depresses me that we're getting a Toy Story 4. I'm sure Pixar will hit it out of the park, but a fourth one after the perfect ending and sendoff- even though I think Toy Story 2 is a better film- feels unnecessary.
