These reviews are making me so happy! While I expected a good Mad Max movie, I never expected this kind of critical love! :up:
 
Lexi has a point, but it's misguided considering it's not even valid in regards to Fury Road. So she kinda does more harm to the cause than good.
Well this is what happens when you have a good cause, and use it to defend your annoyance.
 
Yeah there's a difference between having a good cause and having an "everyone is against me oh look hidden sexisms everywhere" complex.

Good on WB for still being the most friendly big studio to creatives, even when it bites them in the ass.

Yes. But successes like these will be forgotten by those who would rather moan about momentary mistakes like Green Lantern.
 
Outside of having two Batmen on screen and the cast, I remember some people making fun of the fact that his last few films were Babe and Happy Feet.

I never had a problem with 2 Batmen on screen and was open to seeing how the cast worked in the final product. I don't question movies until I actually see them if they grab my interest. I had faith in George Miller. A Justice League movie from George Miller was like some kinda unicorn project to me. What a great combo of creative type and source material.

It's not like he suddenly forgot how to structure dynamic action just because he's diverse with the genres he directs in. He's just that varied and talented. The funny thing is both Happy Feet and Babe: Pig in the City had 2 of the greatest chase scenes I've ever seen too.

It is what it is but man what a waste.
 
Assuming we are the same people and you are the lone different one. I was right there calling Avengers Ultron's BS right there with the rest of them....not that any of it matters.

I can't get over the Brothers in Arms track on the ost...has this thing leaked yet? or do albums not leak anymore?

Well, there were multiple reasons people were against the film. With regards to Miller, people brought up those films and the casting choices he made as to why he shouldn't have been hired.

Not me Vile. Every RT thread, I defend the critics having their own opinion. In the end, what should matter for you is how you feel about the movie. It is the same for I SEE SPIDEY.

Happy Feet is good, but Babe 2 is a fantastic film. Roger Ebert's review is a great demonstration of why.

Well yeah of course, you can't deny that there is a sense of satisfaction in being validated by having "your" film that you've rallied behind being praised by others.

I get that. It happens to all of us. But it is how some use the critics that is hilarious. They are only relevant if they agree. Otherwise they have a horrible agenda against the film or the genre as a whole. :funny:

It gets silly, though. A movie is getting "slammed" if only 7/10 critics like a movie.

Eh, they're gonna have hits and misses just like everybody else. The hits shouldn't make them immune to criticism of the misses, just as the misses don't invalidates the hits.

In other words, I'll keep criticizing Green Lantern whenever it's appropriate, along with every other movie they make that I feel deserves it, even as I'll probably be singing the praises of this movie and the other good ones they put out. A studio is not a person, nor a sports team where each part contributes to some greater whole, so I'll never understand people having loyalty to studios the way they do with filmmakers, actors and sports teams. Each film is a unique product of the very specific combination of various creative voices involved throughout the process. So judging a studio's filmography as a whole is pointless, as is giving them passes for bad decisions just because they make some good ones too, imo.

I'm not saying you shouldn't criticize GL, or that people should be blindly loyal to WB. I'm talking about the people who say they'll never trust WB because they have such an "awful track record."
