Freudian slip?
Yes, I'm actually modelling the dredd's lawmaker at the moment:yay:

iron Man 3 isn't as horrible a crime against humanity as its detractors are claiming since it's showing healthy legs. If it was it would've had Spider-man 3 drops.

To be fair, Spiderman 3 wasn't an Avengers victory lap, moreover Spiderman 3 opened in maybe the biggest movie storm in history.
Had IM3 opened before Avengers, I'm sure that would telling.

I chalk it up to fanboys; a loud but insignificant minor minority. The layman doesn't give a crap about the Mandarin.

Transformers has proven this point time again. And I'm sure STID will as well. I say that in light of Faraci's fanboy rant against the film.

People didn't expect Gatsby to go as long as it is. Leo is a draw for the most part, but while the book itself is a classic, it's not like Hunger Games "omg I gotta see this!" level for most people.

I used to deny this, but Leo really is a draw. He's no Will or Depp but without him that movie would have surely under performed. One day he's going to get into one of this big genre block busters and really sell. He'd be a great choice for Luthor.

True,if you ask the normal folks who have seen it most said they really liked it.

Leo has definitely become a draw Marvin. I'm still not a fan but he can act and doesn't ruin films or anything.

I think he's one of the best actors around.

Same here. Leo's top notch man.
I love "Catch Me If You Can". He was great in Gatsby too. From the "shut up!!" scene, you knew he was the best actor on screen.

The buzz would have been much much greater if said film was sold on "Abram's Khan re-imagining"

I think trek could have had a huge buzz increase if they had only marketed Kahn from the start and not some unknown actor playing some unknown character.

Is this legit? Because some of us haven't seen the movie yet. If so, WOW. Thanks for giving away a major plot point. :cmad:

Here's a tip: Learn how to use spoiler tags so you don't ruin movies for people on the opening weekend.

Yeah spoilers don't mean much on SHH apparently. I've seen Khan pop up in about 2 or 3 other non star trek related forums. Hell i think the mandarin thing was spoiled here before the movie even came out...

Sorry, I saw it everywhere else figured the cat was out of the bag.

Here's a tip, major movie forums are wrought with spoilers 4 days after a movie premieres. I can only apologize so much.

hey, freakin Yahoo homepage spoiled the Star Trek villain a couple days ago.......:o

star trek dead on arrival, not surprised.

I actually learned about it on IMDB's actor listings a week ago to be honest.

Alright, Man of steel might actually make really good money OW, while I was at walmart for my tickets I heard 10 people talk about how they were excited that Nolan was directing this movie. two of my friends think Nolan wrote the whole thing and helped direct the movie. So, I know it is a small sample size, I think we are vastly under-predicting this movie (my walmart and my other towns walmart sold out this morning by 9!) If I was a betting man I would bet Over on 100 million easily. And from what I have heard about the movie, Get ready for long legs at the BO, it is amazing!!

new prediction - 138.5 million OW/400D/545 IN/945 WW probably under on these numbers but 120-140 OW

If the film is really great, I wouldn't be surprised if it made at least "Inception" like numbers. I mean Inception wasn't from a successful franchise, it came right off the bat (no pun intended) from the success that Nolan had achieved from making "The Dark Knight".

:funny:

Agreed.

Wasnt ST09 about 85 million OW?
STID is going to be about 84 million according to Deadline .
and they had a 80% increase in OS earnings .
Sounds pretty good to me

I believe that STID has good WOM and will have some legs, it's overseas collection will be better than the first one too.

Absolutely 100% agree.
And the OS earnings for STID have already showed a 80% increase according to Deadline .

If you guys look at movies being released before and after MoS there really isn't another Superhero film or anything that stands out that is close to June 14th or a movie that screams Epic/non-stop Action. At least, I don't see anything I myself am interested in seeing until Pacific Rim is released.

This could really help MoS in the long run. I think if RT ratings are mid 70's to mid 80's this movie makes bank, period. You're lucky to get into the 90's club. I really could care less about critic reviews. I just want to be able to forget all about SR which I think I will on June 14th.

You will. This is going be E P I C and we can all F O R G E T about that thing called SR.

It's really Monsters Universy that's going to hurt Sups. Damn Kids movies make Bank. Sure it'll do good but Monsters will be number 1 for a while. I still haven't decided on a number but 900 mil seems a possibility. The hype is high and with Iron Man 3 disappointing alot of people, I can't see any other type of other movie as big.

Despite some people being dissapointed, it has not hurt IM3's box office the slightest bit.
It will still be the biggest movie of the summer when the dust clears.

Yep, Man of Steel has a shot at 2nd, depends on how good it actually is. I still think it can break June's OW record.

3 tracking companies/theater chains have opening weekend tracking ...

From last week
RS - 125
BTC - 125

New today
MTC - 130 (just released @ hsx.com)

Man, it this film fails to break 100, it's going to look bad for the tracking systems.

We'll see in a little over 3 1/2 weeks. :)

Is anyone else buying tickets for the midnight showing that has already purchased their 7pm June 13th advanced tickets?

Or am I the only one?
