Hey, Greeneyes, remember that awesome post you made with Tobias hateful comments towards Superman and how much he wanted MoS to fail at the box office? because I do, it was amazing and I wish you could repost it

Thanks Andreth ,I didn't want to quote him like that because I don't like causing hassle if I can help it,but I just felt that others should see what he really thought of Superman and the franchise. Tobias is trying to convince people at the moment that he was wronged and never said what he has and that he is a huge fan who wants success for Supes etc,but for anyone who has read his hater comments they just wont buy his BS.

There are more comments as well that he has made but I don't want to post stuff unless it's needed. As I say,I've had experience of him on other Superman sites which is why I'm on his case more than others here. I just don't like people being tricksy and false,he wont admit his feelings and he wont admit he has been banned from sites before either.

My fear is that I don't want to seem like I'm picking on someone who isn't doing anything classed as really bad here,although he has done enough for quite a few other members to guess at his true feelings and motives and to question him about it.

The Lone Ranger at 28% on RT. It was speculated in here how important RT rating could be for certain people in determining whether or not they will see a movie. Curious to see if this has any effect for this film or this kind of film with Depp is critic proof.

He said on a previous site that Conan is a bigger and better franchise than Superman who(surprise surprise) he said was second tier,passe and would disappear for good. so I'm not surprised at anything tbh t:

Why not? All the trailers for the Lone Ranger have been terrible. Looks like another generic "pseduo Western" adventure...Wild Wild West/Shanghai Noon/Jonah Hexx. Another embarrassment to the dying Western genre.

Yeah, LR will have the Depp factor that makes it a toss up as to how well it'll do. They wrote POTC all over this movie to see if they can bring the old audience into this new franchise. Like the first POTC I was hoping it would be a good start to a franchise before it delves into mediocrity. Might be wrong about that and, because I'm not into westerns, I might be waiting for Redbox and adding to MOS's BO.

If LR had Superman's fanbase it might be able to overcame RT's critic's rotten rating or it is as good as MOS it will do fine... From just the trailer it doesn't look like it... This one is going strait to my redbox rental list...

I too saw "good ol' summer fun" in the advertisings and was hoping for a popcorn munching action adventure, but apparently its way too long, too dry, too dreary and tiresome. Looks like the POTC crew bombed on this one.

Please don't judge Westerns on pieces of crap like Lone Ranger. They have very little in common with all the classic Westerns outside of the time period.

No worries, I've disliked them since I was a kid. So it's just one more reason for me not to see LR.

Loved the mess out of Wild Wild West, though.

Well it's certainly one less movie standing in MOS way this weekend.

I saw On Stranger Tides, and that's what I was expecting somewhat, although maybe a bit fresher with different characters. Just mindless, popcorn munching, seat kicking entertainment, nothing overly heavy. Sounds like it's just a borefest. Too bad, I was looking forward to enjoying it.

A lot of the films that Johnny Depp has been in for Disney have had Low Rotten Tomato scores and yet that didn't stop them from making money.lol

Yes it seems RT's low scores doesn't always make a difference on a blockbuster movie

Anyway, Australian weekend box office was very strong, looking at 25-30 million here when all is said and done

Yep all classics. I'd also include Once Upon a Time in the West, High Plains Drifter, Pale Rider, Lonesome Dove(the original mini-series with Duvall and Tommy Lee Jones), Dances with Wolves, Jeremiah Johnson. Never really cared for John Wayne though...I've seem most of his Western filmography and the only ones I enjoyed were Red River, 3 Godfathers, The Shootist, and maybe True Grit.
