I can't believe Will isn't coming back.
You'd think he'd return after his last few disappointing films.
Then again sounds like he asked for too much dough $$

Some franchises should just be allowed to die. Indiana Jones, Terminator, etc. You ruin them by keeping them around.

I think were at 251,618 for MOS. Or close to it.

Ehh... they need him just as much as he needs them. Whole thing reeks of negotiations gone public. Emmerich's "reasons" made no sense. Whatsoever.

I smell fish.

Agreed. I hope negotiations aren't over. While ID 2 would survive without Will, it wouldn't do as well, Will still has star power in him. Bill Pullman and Jeff Goldblum are back. If Will is asking for too much money, I hope a deal can be made. He shouldn't be so cocky. You can't ask for a massively unrealistic amount of money, especially if the budget is high already.

Looking at poll above,

Who voted that MOS will make less than 200 mil ? less than 300 mil ? Less than 400 ? lol.

Also, all those who voted that MOS will make 800 mil / 900 mil /1 bil. / 1.5 bil. are wrong
:p

(I'm assuming that those are world wide numbers.)

Edit: I forgot that I voted for 800 mil. :hehe:

In hindsight, 8 and 9 hundred were within the realm of possibility if everything went right..
The release date for starters, I mean who know the film would be in a situation where it's making 20mill in 5th place. I look forward to 2015. I'm sure people will be giving far more enlightened predictions in respect to this brands sheer reach.
Less than 500mill srsly

Will could just send Jaden as his replacement, lol.

Thanks. :D

After all, Will will never have trouble finding work, but his kid might, unless Will is the one funding the movie.

I know this is getting off topic but I think Will needs a fun, summer movie like ID4 2 to reinvigorate his career. He's still got star power but man has he made some bad choices these last several years. His last good film was I am Legend and even that movie was flawed.

crap!! can't believe it's been almost 20 years since Independence Day came out......

I feel.........old............:(

I think what happened was After Earth was a flop and they saw that and figured it would hurt their movie

One legitimate flop. In the face of all the mega hits he's delivered?

But wouldn't you blame M Night Shyamalan, since he's responsible for the screenplay and the direction of the film? Will Smith has way too many hits to be the focal point to blame.
