It's ironic how I ignored RT when it came to MOS but can't stop staring at the low RT score for Lone Ranger. I hope it underperforms a bit so MOS can have the best 4 day weekend possible.

Just shows your bias.

This is my stance on critics.
When a film big or small gets mixed reviews, it means half liked it, half didn't like it. Which means my opinion can go either way. When a film receives mixed reviews I don't listen to the critics, I go and decide for myself. It doesn't impact wether ill see it or not.
However, if a film gets an overwhelming positive or negative response from critics, lets say it has below a 35 on metacritic or Rotten, or lets say it had above an 80 on Meta or Rotten, then most likely I will agree with the majority.
The only time I decide for myself is when there is a mixed response. I have found in the past that if a film is reviewed positively from critics, I'll go see it. Just like if a film gets an overwhelming negative response ill probably wait for it on DVD or wait till my friends see it.

Both Gatsby and Steel got mixed reviews *steel favoring slightly better* and you know what, I though Steel was pretty good, and I liked Gatsby. Sometimes critics are just too harsh.
Look at TAKEN's hilariously low score of 58 on rotten.

How very convenient of you. :cwink:

I agree with you Connor.

The only times I really pay attention to critics and scores is if I'm on the fence about seeing a movie to begin with. Then I can be influenced and swayed. Otherwise, I'm going to see or not see a movie based on my own opinion anyway. I think some critics are overly harsh on summer popcorn movies because they're looking for the next Casablanca.

Anyway. MOS box office...

Get someone who can act...

Mercy Mercy Graves is basically a bodyguard of Lex luthor, so not much acting ability is needed.

Off topic, Lone Ranger is now at 16 % RT rating. :wow:

(Disney execs will not be happy, but I am as Jonny Depp's POTC pretty much eat up SR's money, Go forward MOS !)

It will be interesting to see if the rating slides down further of climbs up.

And that is why some seemingly thankless roles can end up being crowd favorites (Faora) and others just add to mediocrity. Theoretically acting ability wasn't necessary for Faora, but they cast a true actress and she rocked it. Antje made Faora truly memorable.

The Boba Fett of MOS. :woot:

Only, she actually did stuff and didn't just look cool in the background, and then died like a chump. Saying she is the Boba Fett of MOS is almost an insult.

You are opposed to Gina Carano as Mercy Graves ? I know that she is not considered as genuine actress but it's not like she could not do even that much acting.

You will be surprised how many people vote for her as Wonder Woman (I am totally opposed to her as WW.)

Getting some other actress like Li Bingbing would be a good idea too, though I think Carano fits the role better.

Hey, Empire Strikes Back Boba is a boss. Not his fault Lucas decided to ruin it all in RotJ.

Nuh-uh, a good death is its own reward. :yay:

I oppose Gina Carano because while I find her very attractive, I have also seen her act. And she is not good at it. People thinking she should be Wonder Woman are simply thinking body type and not actual acting or characterization.

Not even remotely the same. She didn't get knocked in the back by some blind guy, then fell to her death screaming. She died because a Soldier sacrificed himself to take her with him.
