You are being insane. This movie is doing very well, and the idea that it isn't getting a sequel at this point is ridiculous. Everyone who knows what they are talking about is impressed by the business it has done. Even adjusted it, it has already cleared Superman Return (which I like) by over $60m worldwide. This is with everyone who knows this stuff saying it probably has another $170m in it WW at least.MOS has only made about 50 mil or so more than SR did at the adjusted BO at this point, that's not that much more money, almost Hulk/TIH numbers wise for comparison, however, MOS's opening weekend was more than twice that of SR's, almost 3 times as big in fact, so there is an audience for Superman no doubt, I just think the film would have made more if the writing and editing were better. The WOM knocked the opening weekend down by at least 20 mil, IMO. If it was as good as it looked, it would have cleared 135 opening weekend, easily, IMO, and held stronger the following weeks.
I still say thinking there WILL be a sequel is up in the air at this point. It's out there in limbo along with the Superman/Batman movie for now and the SR and GL sequel as far as we're concerned at the moment. Saying they want Goyer to do another means nothing and is as much as we knew prior to the film really. It's no shock.
Just hopefully if it goes through he brushes up the writing a good bit.
Come on. This is ridiculous. Especially when you consider MoS cost about the same and took in $160m pre-release.
