DM2 is gonna destroy the BO this month.

MOS should be able to ride smoothly to 300 domestic however. About 260 right now. I saw 270 easily by Monday and another 10-12 through next Friday.

Yeah, not sure of the reasoning behind that date, but it was likely the best date WB could get in Japan once they moved MOS from its original November 2012 N.A. Release date.

All that's important to me now is hitting 300 mill domestic. It was something I didn't think it could do after week 2 but am confident about now. 300 mill is a vanity thing. It just sounds more successful.

Because Japan has its own movies...so they probably got that date to avoid Japanese blockbusters

So I think it's safe to hope for $30 million for MOS in Japan, and Brazil should be good for $25 million IMO.

But TA opened in May right? If so MOS is being released faster ( by a couple of weeks) after its domestic debut.

Have to admit, it's a bit disconcerting that my local theater only has it down to 4 showings a day now-- and after only 3 weeks.

Granted, it's a very crowded field right now and the movie's already made a TON of money... but it still feels like it's disappearing from theaters way too fast.

It's possible that as WHD and a few others fizzle out that MOS could gain a screen here or there if demand exists. My local IMAX initially only had 3D screenings but due to demand ( and I'm guessing complaints) they added a regular show once a day. Does anyone know if that is unheard of?

Well the age of piracy existed last year as well, and The Avengers did great. If MOS is released two to three weeks faster in Japan relative to its domestic release, that's two to three weeks less for bootlegs and illegal downloads to impact it's BO potential.

Learn it?? I'm almost a graduate of the $700 million plus MOS believers society. The official ceremony to present the diploma for 'Superhero Origin reboot' will probably be in late September after Japan's final # 's come in.
