Yeah. The second week did it's damage. 300 would be a breeze right now. I'm greedy so I want as much money as possible.

700 mill total is nothing to sneeze at. Far from it. How much did cap make? thor? first class? I'm Not trying to downplay those films. my point is this was a reboot following a not so well received film. If anything, it says Superman is still just as popular as ever.

The numbers are actually pretty darn good when you think about it with all the starts and stops we've seen and the uncertainty with a sequel to SR.

MoS has laid the foundation for future films and thats the most important thing any of us could have asked for.

Given the box office potential of Batman, I would say yes.

I think Supes can make far more than 300m domestic. Do you not share that opinion?

Superman can make more than 300 million domestically. It isn't man of steel's fault that WB released it on a mediocre date. It also didn't help that the next three weeks after it's release there were numerous blockbuster films released. (World war, despicable, Lone Ranger, Monsters University)

I agree. I think they would have wanted Pacific Rim's slot. They would have made more. But WB own PC as well I guess they figured that PC may not make enough money with the packed schedule this summer had.

I haven't been getting a 'troll' vibe from him, just what he said, realistic expectations. He even mentioned it could reach $400 million...just not $500.

I loved the film, but even I know it's going to be a battle to get the amazing numbers some have respected. Still sticking to round $700 million WW and $300 million domestic or pretty darn close.

That's because I'm not one. As I've said numerous times: i'm just looking at the hard numbers.

I have to say that is not good at all for its prospects of hitting $300M domestically. From here on it has to hold at least 67% of its weekly audience to have a shot.

Even I am beginning to see the prospect of $300 million is starting to look grim unless WB can leave MOS out there until Labor Day. Next week I think $3 million is its absolute max.
