I'm saying Batman and Superman in a movie together makes this movie critic proof.

Superman on his own this time around was technically critic proof. Throw in Batman and their nukes couldn't really dent it.

However i'd be very disappointed if this isn't a top-notch feature and frankly i'd like to see it surpass MoS 1 in quality by some as well.

I think this movie will easily outshine MoS. 55% on RT critically that movie went down like lead balloon.

Depends on who is cast as bats, the tone, and story, but yeah, I would think 800 to a billion at this point without knowing a thing about it.

Good doesn't = Box office

Look at Transformers.

This is true, but I think in the case of Avengers vs WF's, since they are equally well known and of the same genre, the movie with better WOM will win out. Both will have big openings, its their legs that will be more important.... and that sounded kind of dirty ha.

WB have got to be disappointed if this movie doesn't make a billion.
MoS has made 620m and it was a reboot with a poor RT score.

Since it's the same team, I'm not sure this movie will be any better at all, especially since juggling 2 major heroes is much harder than focusing on just one.

I guess WB was expecting MOS to make billions...
What MOS is doing just isnt good enough for them. Thus we don't get a solo sequel. :(

I'm sure WB was expecting ASM numbers not TDKR numbers.

Perhaps if they picked a better release date they would have gotten $700-$750 M. :o

It's their fault.

What the heck is with this doom and gloom crap.

I don't understand why people are blaming WB for the release date.. From what I remember, WB announced the date 2 years in advance then other companies started choosing dates around and close to MOS. if that's the case, WB really had no control over release dates of others..

I do agree that if WB had much better placement, then I could see MOS doing $800M plus

So I guess WB isn't disappointed in MOS' box office since they're fast tracking a sequel.

I'd say the range for WF is:

750-800 m if it's weak

800-1 billion if it's good.

1-1.3 billion is its great.

DC's two iconic heroes together in one movie, with the last film to feature Batman making a billion. WB have got to be disappointed if this movie makes less than 900m.

Latest box office:

Budget: $225,000,000

Domestic: $285,021,000 as of Jul. 21, 2013 (45.7%)
+ Foreign: $338,200,000 as of Jul. 14, 2013 (54.3%)

= Worldwide: $623,221,000

In Release: 38 days / 5.4 weeks

So;

6th Weekend: $1,840,000 (Rank 15)

For all the flak Tobias was getting, his prediction that WB wasn't confident of another MOS might turn out to be true after all.

I guess they needed the BAT to the rescue.

However that came about, WF would be a great addition... I think this would satisfy a lot of fans (of both worlds). Now, if only Goyer's writing will improve, and add a little 'fun' to the movie which will then satisfy the GA as well, and we'll have a Billion dollar plus movie in the making...

OPENING W 300 MIL DOM
600 MIL FOREIGN IF BATMAN IS TRULY IN THE NEXT MOVIE WITH SUPERMAN ITS KINDA LIKE JUSTICE LEAGUE BUT WITHOUT THE REST 9F THE TEAM JUST YET I LOVE THE IDEAL
SO WHERE IS THE THREAD LETS GET IT STARTED WITH A 2BILPREDICTION ww total by the end of its run many are saying this movie will give the avengers 2 a run for its money and some are predicting 1.8-2.3bil for the avengers

Boy you certainly like to go big lol!

Tobias must be so happy to have one supporter in here. WB is very happy with MOS. This is still MOS2 but adding Batman helps set up JLA. Plus its what fans have been wanting. If they didnt do a WF movie now, we might never have seen one

They're adding Batman to prepare for Justice League.

They have more confidence in MOS2 than a full-on Batman reboot film.

I think MOS2 with Batman can beat Avengers 2 and I still feel it could reach 2B

I'm starting to think that too.
Will be interesting to see what trailer captures the general audiences imagination more;

IM, Thor, Cap and Hulk being handed their arse by Ultron or Batman and Superman facing off together.

At this point there really isn't any need to follow the box office numbers for MOS. We know we'll be seeing Superman again in 2015.

Pretty much. The only thing left for MoS is bragging rights of the most successful reboot (WW) of all time. I don't see MoS reaching 752m.

I'd say they're disappointed. If MOS had been a runaway financial smash and a critical success, they wouldn't have pulled the trigger on Batman this quick.

This move feels like it is purely out of desperation.
