I predicted an over 200 million dollar opening weekend! <---Mud on face...:)

I was going to say, each of my viewings my theater got a kick out of the parts they were supposed to get a kick out of. Again, must of been a different "MAN OF STEEL" screening:woot: I'll say it to the end of time and won't budge: Man of Steel shows emotion and has humor, it just doesn't wear it on its sleeve and I love that.

I'm GLAD it wasn't IM3 humor because this isn't Marvel. This is DC. BIG DIFFERENCE.

How am I acting? I am voicing my opinion. I never claimed to be an expert either. I guess people who are moderators can pick and choose who they bully on here. Everyone else can speak their mind but when I try to defend my beliefs you want to threaten me and say I wont be on here. I never attacked anyone and this is a violation of my rights. I feel its foolish to say a movie is a fail after 13 days. To voice an opinion like its a fact is what that user did and I gave my opinion back.
 
WB needs to go ahead and announce their late july 2015 release date before some other studio grabs it.

I thought for sure I read that Terminator reboot said july...close one.

I agree it had humor it wasn't all joking every 5 minutes like Iron Man 3

While I wouldn't go so far as to say that there aren't some DC characters where IM-style humor would be appropriate, I do agree that Superman isn't one of them. And even so, there is plenty of humor in MOS. Just not an overwhelming amount of it. Apparently to some fans and critics, that translate to ZOMG WHY SO SERIOUS MOST DEPRESSING MOVIE EVER. I guess we should bring back Gus Gorman and Drunk Superman.

Agreed. I don't want IM3 style humor in most of the DC movies. The only characters I see that working with are Flash, and Plastic Man, and no one likes Plastic Man.

This is the only site I see that moderator would say such a thing to forum memebers... I though they were to police the forum to make sure it is civil not to call out someone with an opinion... It wasn't like you were out of line and attacking the other members ... Oh well, I guess it's just the way SHH operates here...

problem is GA get used of Marvel kinda humor and format. and to some, they think DC should follow Marvel format.
 
Wouldn't it be more ballsy for WB to stake out a 2016 date and make other studios work around its release then try to find the last remaining scrap of space in the super crowded 2015?

In the end isn't competition and an arguably crowded release date cause for MoS to have dropped a bit in the Box office?
 
Marvel have established that their movies is going to have a healthy amount of humour if DC want to establish themselves as being the studio that will provide serious drama don't undermine that by have a 40 minute action fest, it sends conflicting messages of what the movie is trying to be.

DC needs to find its own style of humor. We dont need punchlines galore (nothing wrong with that) just have it flow within the story of the film.
 
I wonder what villain they'll use for the next film outside of Lex. Superman's rogues gallery doesn't really have another "realistic" character for Nolan to use. I don't see Brainiac in a Nolan movie at all.

This is a non-sequitur. Just because one movie does X, doesn't really say anything about another movie being able to do Y.

They might need to ditch the idea of "realistic" and go for pure sci-fi at this point.

If the box office numbers are holding up as everyone believes they are, then why not? Its proven to work, right? Why go in a different direction with MOS2?

I don't see that as a problem at all. As a DC and Superman fan, I'd rather both companies act as polar alternatives and I love DC's more series tone. They set their niche with BB and Supes needed to tell his edgier story, but the end to MOS showed theres a direction here to be takin and the sequel, still with deeper tones, will be more fun-loving so to speak and I much prefer that over Marvel.

They might have to. The problem is I can't see certain heroes fitting in this ultra realistic universe that's been created with Man of Steel. I can see Batman and Green Lantern fitting in, but Wonder Woman? Because if Wonder Woman exists, then so do the Greek Gods. That's gonna be really difficult fitting in this universe, because you got realism, sci fi, and now you're gonna add magic and mythology as well?

I dunno, I just don't see it working.
