I wouldn't say he can't shoot action, its just that its not very flashy.

His shots felt boring to me. I think I'm one of the few who felt the airplane scene was simply shot. Nothing amazing to it at all. Boring angles and nothing much happening in the background.

Not that he didn’t want, he simply couldn’t do it good.
The action scenes in SR or Xmen are very dry and simply. People falls, catch; globe drops, catch; debris collapses, burn; fire spreads, breeze; there were no collateral damages. No sense of urgency and panic. He couldn’t even create a convincing chaotic scene. Everything was in order and neat. That’s why he went the melodrama way.

Hire better writers

Yap, partly it was the 2 young writers’ incompetence. But mainly the director’s lack of creative imagination. You know, there was nothing, nothing!!! Happen concurrently during the earthquake! Every accidents taking queue. So orderly and neat. People leisurely walk out of buildings like a fire drill exercise. No scare, no panic, no worry.

and how can the fighting with a continent be the final showdown of the movie!!!

The plane scene is way better. At least it shows sequence and thought. But then the scene is a copycat from JJ Abram’s script. I truly think Singer is simple minded in the action aspect; needs assistance badly.

And as far as Singer and action goes... He just doesn't have it. At all. Like others have said, his shots are boring and pointless. Everything is Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, etc. And his writers for SR... :wow: How did 2 (3 if you count Singer) brains come up with something so ****ing lame for a charter who is the star of a series titled "Action Comics"?? How? A love story? A Love Story?

And since we are being honest, Syncopy had to get a director like Snyder to do MOS. Because as good as Nolan is, I don't feel he could do it justice either. How was he really okay with those fight scenes in TDKR? Telegraphed slow punches from a guy who is supposed to be one of the top 2 or 3 martial artist in the world? I couldn't buy into it. He should have hired Donnie Yen (look him up!) to choreograph Batman's fights.

I'm glad we have who we have and the team we have for MOS this go round. I am really curious and looking forward to seeing how he is going to handle the hand to hand/power to power combat. His Watchmen fight scenes were boss.

^ I loved the action scenes in TDK trilogy, but it could have been so much more. For some reason I got so excited when I read Goyer saying MOS has more action than anything in TDK Trilogy.

nightcrawler action scene is still imo one of the est action scenes from a comic book movie:o

Most viewers loved it. And others didn't noticed it was so slow and uncharacteristic of Batman. But the martial artist in me couldn't buy it.

When I read that I got pumped too. Lol. But how much more? And what kind?

*Damon Caro is the choreographer for MOS and I"m very happy about that. So I guess we already have some clue.

It's not that it was bad just not great. Mostly blank background with no real shots of earth approaching. I never got a great sense of distance.

I don't find the plane rescue scene that amazing. It's fine and dandy but nothing extraordinary.

Nolan's hand to hand scenes are wretched, his shootouts are incredibly messy and full of technical mistakes as to how guns work, but I like his wide scale stuff. The TDK and TDKR prologue, the transport chase in TDK, the climactic scene in the Prewitt building, the return of Batman in Rises are all pretty decent.

From that scene of Superman flying into the bank vault it already looks like the action will be much bigger and more dramatic than anything we saw in the Nolan trilogy. That should certainly be the case seeing as how he has superpowers.

Plus spaceships. And robot armies. And actual superpowers.

Even Nolan himself said he wouldn't have known how to pull off the action in MOS and he seems to be in awe of what Snyder is doing.

The nature of the character demands bigger action, and I think we're going to get it. My only hope is it won't feel too CGI.

I predict 1 Billion Dollars!

I have a feeling that's the case too honestly. I'm trying to contain my hype. really feel like I've been waiting to see this live version of Superman for decades.
