After seeing the trailer & taking into consideration in less than 3 days the trailer has been watched by almost 12m at the time of writing this & looking like the majority seemed to like what they saw & intrigued to see more.

I think you are talking at the very least $400m & the very most $800m.. I'm going to park myself right in the middle & say around $600m as an early prediction.

It all depends on the reviews (combined with marketing). If it get LOTS of good reviews then I can see it reaching above 800m.

(You would think reviews do not play a part of a Film succeeding or not, but some people are just that dumb/lazy to either see or not see a film based on a review).

From the reactions to the trailer and I don't mean YouTube views I mean people's reactions I.e. reviews I think Man of Steel will surely make a decent enough amount of money. If course it will depend in factors nearer the time too, I.e. if there's an unexpected hit that stops people seeing it, reviews, word if mouth etc. I also think the 3rd trailer (hopefully with Iron Man 3) could be a HUGE factor.

Yeah review count for a lot. I don't think Skyfall or Avengers would have grossed as much as they did had the reviews not been so rave for both.

Yeah, with the expanded marketing, 3D and the strength of Superman's name alone it can make good money. If gets great reviews, then ii can become huge.

 really really hope so we need this film to do well. I'd love it if it really exceeded expectations.

I want it like hsrry potter, james bond... But the reality is...

An ongoing series, so do I but right now I'd settle for a trilogy. If it does have to have an end like the Dark Knight trilogy then I hope it has the All Star Superman ending.

Agreed! Hopefully this will be a smash hit at the box office in 6 months (and all signs are indicating it will be considering that trailer has >19M views already) and we can get our trilogy!

The most important thing above all else is that the movie is good. Even if it doesn't blow away at the BO. It's in a tough month and going up against a Pixar movie. But if MOS is a great film then that's all that matters.

Yeah if it doesn't do we'll enough but it's the best film ever then at least we'll have a great modern Superman film. I just really want a film series, Superman as a visual idea is perfect for today's fx.

I think studios recognize quality though. Batman Begins didn't exactly blow the roof off the box office but look what it led too: 2 of the most financially successful films ever made.

Yeah but it wasn't executed too, I do wonder what the studio is expecting of Man of Steel numbers wise?!

Probably ~$700-$800M. I think it's definitely doable. Especially riding Christopher Nolan's name in the marketing as hard as they are.

Well see I'm just worried Superman Returns has pit people off

Ha I think most people have probably forgotten about that film. I don't think that the film did enough to make people adamantly hate the character or franchise. I feel that the majority are just indifferent regarding that film.

True it wasn't as bad as Batman & Robin lol

Lol yeah that was a far worse place for WB to bounce back from. Reeling from SR should be much more manageable.

To be honest I have 4 ratings of comic book films, the great ones, the good ones, the OK ones and the bad ones. Superman Returns would fall into my good ones, the low end of the good ones but still the good ones. There are far far worse CBMs lol.

I'm thinking it will be a 250M domestic and 600M international box office honestly, it's the restart of a new franchise and people have to get over their pessimistic thoughts of Superman.

I think that would be already very good.

Same here that would definitely be enough to guarantee a sequel

500/550 mill ww and we'll get a sequel i'll wager.
