The Amazing Spider-Man Marc Webb to return?

No one was even comparing it to Iron Man.

They were comparing what TAS-M 2's rush job could be compared to Iron Man 2. If you didn't get my sarcasm, then that's your fault.

And I disagree with your opinion.

That it wasn't as good as Iron Man?

Seriously, all of you have to stop these arguments about which is better, TASM or...? Its pointless.

Same with arguing that BB is the reason why TASM is made, etc etc. Doesn't matter because nobody really knows the truth behind most of this. Once again, EVERYTHING WAS INSPIRED BY SOMETHING. Anything that could be done has been done already in some shape or form.

Back to the discussion of Marc Webb returning or not...

I certainly hope Webb returns. I'm not sure I like the thought of a director change over this early, which is one of my fears for Thor.

And then there's Batman's Schumacher... brrr...

I hope he stays for the full three movies and can properly create his vision for Spidey. :)

Marc Webb has only been around for 1 film, not long enough to make a huge impact on the series though. It all depends on who we get for the next film.

I doubt it would turn out like Schumacher Batman though. If it ends up disappointing, then it would probably end up like X-Men Origins or X3 at worst. I really hope the next movie is good...

I really don't doubt that the next movie will be good so long as Webb returns. Webb did a wonderful job for his first big budget studio film. He was able to create strong characters with good relationships, something he obviously carried over from 500 Days, but he also did an excellent job with the action sequences.

If Webb is able to duplicate his efforts on ASM while learning from mistakes and improving, then ASM2 should be a stronger film. That's only my opinion of course and it's still so early to be talking about those ideas.

Hell yes.

Or even as a video game would work, but not by Beenox.

Beenox is a good up and coming developer. I think they have the talent to be exceptional if only they could remove the heavy foot of Activision from the top of their heads. Give them the same resources, time and money, that Rocksteady or Rockstar has available and Beenox would put out a product that is just as good.

Superman: The Movie(CBMs) and Batman Begins(CBM reboots).

If more people start to realize this then no one will be arguing with anything

That is very true. Well lets cross our fingers that Webb returns... we have to find out soon.

That is my biggest reason why I said Beenox shouldn't be involved. I don't think we could get a Spider-Man: Reign game that respects the work when Activision is really pulling the strings.

And even those movies were inspired by SOMETHING. But yes, there is no point in arguing. Lets enjoy the fact that we have all of these comic book movies being made. This is the time to be a nerd!

The whole time watching TASM I really saw alot of potential and set up for a sequel. I kept thinking to myself "the sequel is going to be amazing." I really think TASM 2 would match and perhaps surpass that of Spider-Man 2. And I hope Webb is one to do it, I want a Webb trilogy.

Is there a chance that someone else will be able to make Spider-Man video games anytime soon?

I wonder what the next SM will be like. We will probably get another one in 2013... that sucks.

Activision shouldn't be involved for sure but I'd still love it if Beenox could do a Spidey game on their own somehow. As long as Activision has the rights then of course that will never happen but Beenox has shown more love for Spidey than I can remember coming from a developer. It would be great if they could get a shot to do a Spider-man game on their own terms.

TASM was definitely a great setup for the sequel. Will the sequel be amazing? Too soon to say so.

Big things have small beginnings.

Exactly, i would really want to see something like Spiderman beeing blamed for the death of Gwen Stacy but i don´t want to see Emma Stone die!

Right there with you. I was thinking the same and want the same as well.

It does and it doesn't. The part of the studio that worked on EoT will probably be working on the game for 2013. But that means they will have 2 years to put it out there cause EoT came out in 2011. And hopefully they incorporate the new combat structure, new closer camera and other cues from ASM into that game and it should be pretty good I would think.

I don't know how much longer Activision has the rights to be the developer, but while they do, we will be getting a Spidey game for every single year and that right there probably kills Beenox's inspiration.

And not a newly-created idea; something that adapts such as Reign would be fantastic. Or, if Activision finally lets Beenox take some two-three years without releasing a game and focus on one game to make.

They should stick to free roam games from now on, but really put time and effort into them (which probably won't happen).

Its a shame because I loved the 2000 video game for PS1, Enter Electro, SM1: The movie game, and SM2. Then suddenly... the games just fell apart with SM3. WHAT HAPPENED?!

Beenox is one of the few developers out there that seem to really listen to their fans. I think something like Reign would be awesome.

Unfortunately, I highly doubt we'll have a period of 2-3 years without a Spidey title. ASM showed a lot of promise so as long as they keep improving on those ideas the games will only get better.

The next movie game will probably come out in 2014 and will most likely be free roam. If a game comes out in 2013, which will probably happen, it should be linear based so the free roam doesn't become stale.

They should just remaster the successful Spider-Man games. It would be cheaper and at least be better than anything they have released in the last 8 years.

SD was pretty good and ASM is a great game, imo. Say what you will but that's how I feel about those. That being said, a remaster of Enter Electro or Maximum Carnage would be awesome.

We're kinda getting off topic here though...back to Webb shall we. How long do we have before an announcement of whether or not Webb will return?

Well production has to start in a few months, so I guess somewhere within that timeframe. Probably sooner actually.
