Marvel Heroes rolls out 'biggest update ever' successfully

January 20, 2017 20 Comments

[YT]jn4WhL-8prQ[/YT]
Last night, MJ and I were nervous about scheduling her Marvel Heroes stream -- would the game really be back up and functional when it had gone down only six hours before for its so-called "biggest update ever"?

Turns out our fears were unwarranted; the game was back up earlier than planned. If you haven't been in yet, you're gonna want to check out what's changed.

Gazillion has two new videos, one on powers and one on talents, and MJ's posted her stream from last night, in which she scoped out how her own toons have transformed.
[YT]rf3B0R0P_cw[/YT]

Let us know how it's playing for you -- last night players were frustrated over brand-new inventory issues, so be warned you might be playing the loot shuffle game when you next log in before you can get to kicking butt.

So what ended up being announced?

ok this thing is 4 hours long. so I'll put few short explanations . andI'm busy marvel heroe forum helping with the info.

one was to the director the art of Rawr, of the game about dash he re explained it from the dev's point of view be side the complaints of community asking for it to happen.

on the subject of the dash /mobility when asked why the change on mobility (hens the dash)?

On dash the director art of Rawr said: Quote

"our goal with mobility change was to make difficulty more meaningful. Because before if space is ill relevant to a player .

Then it's is very difficult to impose anything in the game to make it differcult, other then the one shoting you or covering the screen in death such that it doesn't matter where you stand ,or you have to use some sort of ability to cover your self from all that damage while the entire screen is red.

We wanted more nuance to positioning. And the way to achieve that was to put a limit on the way movement worked in the game.

We really like this implementation , we think it's not too retrictive, we could have went with the full cool down rout, but We chose not too amd you have the dash counters , so it's just a we think it's still quit mobile indeed, but you still have to pay attention, youcan't just like Reight click every where and be every whereat once.

And it also makes other movements powers much more viable . before you would only take your dash and other travel powers are illrelevant cause you can dash for days and Dfa was all you need and you had this dominant dash and it's healthier for kits in general to slow the dash down .

And further more cause of that kit restriction , it means we can swap out certain movement powers for other heroes and make them less mobile abddo the oposite for other heroes ( latter of which such night crawler)

End quote

and Beast power three set. Beast will use gadgets along with his strength and melee three and he'll have a tree dedicated to his intellect. one of his attacks will be with the black bird

team up jubilation lee : Looks amazing and face melting so.

And the other is on black bolt power three
black bolt's will channel energy from atmosphere of the universe ( in other words ambient energies) and put into his voice or his fist's. so one three will talk about ranged attacks .and he has wing so he'll be able to fly around & the other will energy charge fists of fury look out iron fist. and every one knows what his Ultimate will be,.

Nick fury is fallowing black bolt he's still set to be the nickromancer and unlike other summoners he'll direct his minions which bring more emphasis on him being a director of his agents

There's also new mode for villains we'll be playing against.

And three New Story chapters are ont he way.

They made this clear ,that this was a foundation update. But there's more still coming and things will be fun still for gamers moving forward.

They are still fixing things so if thing don't feel the same let them know or continue to give feed back, in the forums of marvel heroes. they had game play mission dev's speak already and they said you should look to see if you have some similar things still there game play wise .

Again they are still fixing things, this not the final iteration . For examples one of storm's ability's that malfunctioned in set to be fixed. Another patch for this Saturday is happening this weekend as well

ok so My boy tribal sage has added some new info on the to The Future Of Marvel Heroes Thread!

Here's what he had to say below

Update: 12/28/16 Hello everyone! I want you to know that I am planning to bring the thread out of hiatus some time after the first part of the big system update goes live. If you want to help gather information for when the thread returns, it would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently not on the forums as much as before, but I believe that will change in 2017. Hopefully everyone had an awesome Christmas! Happy Holidays!

IMPORTANT NOTE PLEASE READ: This thread contains lots of compiled info. Please note that ETA's aren't set in stone and often change(sometimes daily), as this is the way of game development. So keep in mind that when you see an ETA it's only an estimate and nothing is final till it's actually on the live server. This is the process used from start to finish for those wondering: 1. Implementation. 2. Testing, 3. Q&A. 4. Whitelist testing, 5. TC testing, 6. Public Release.
https://forums.marvelheroes.com/disc...nt-and-devs/p1

If you want to help the thread out and contribute info, please provide a screenshot, link, or video that info is from. Also please don't post any Datamined pics as it will most likely be removed and I can't put it in the thread anyways.
☆☆SCHEDULED EVENTS INFO☆☆

Next patch is planned for Tuesday January 24th. This could change.
Lunar New Year Event - Starts 1/22 and ends 1/29
☆☆ 2016 PLAYABLES ☆☆

☯ BEAST ☯
On the 01/20/16 Live stream it was mentioned that Beast will have a claw/melee type of power tree and also gadget power tree that won't be ranged.
It was mentioned in 2016 that Fred Tatasciore will do the voice over for Beast.
03/07/15 Cat Beast is currently our official Beast, similar to the NPC, yes. In the future, we may update him. I can't speak to the costumes for a playable Beast as there's no official plans for one right now, but I'd guess they'd be Cat Beast + Classic Beast, with NuBeast or All New X-Men as the third alt.
His default costume.

Uncanny Inhumans is his second costume. This is the original version that was created a year ago by TheDink.

Another artist reworked the costume and this is the final version of the costume that will be sold.

☯ BLACKBOLT ☯
He will be the next playable after Beast.
On 03/23/16 a Newsarama article was posted featuring Ryolnir: When Collins got around to talking about Black Bolt, he mentioned the scale of how powerful he is in the game. “Black Bolt is obviously going to be a fun one to do, what with his power set. Although I will say if you’ve read any of the recent Uncanny Inhumans stuff they actually portray his powers has having visual beams and such.” Collins mentioned he’ll have some really powerful AoEs that will allow players to destroy thugs really quickly, but he doesn’t have a lot of trademark abilities that focus on one person. “He’ll still be good at that, but we try to keep these characters in the same band of powers.”

☯ NICK FURY ☯
For a long time, even before Nick Fury was announced to be a playable in the AP4, Mr. Brevik and other devs hinted him being playable and a summoner. They referred to Nick Fury as "Nickromancer". On the 01/20/17 MH live stream they hinted that once again. They also mentioned that you would be able to control the minions. This type of mechanic was mentioned to be coming with Team Ups when they were announced, it's unclear at this time if that's still the plan for Team Ups though.

There was a thread asking if playable Nick Fury will be black or white. The white Fury has been Senior and black has been Junior(Google it). Ryolnir said on 03/28/16 "He's not Nick Fury Jr. in our universe, since it's a slight amalgamation of 616/Ultimate/various others, FWIW."
On 03/23/16 a Newsarama article was posted featuring Ryolnir: “With Nick Fury you’re going to see some S.H.I.E.L.D. summoning, some L.M.D. action, some of his crazy gadgets like jetpacks, the needle gun, all the goodness from the classic Steranko days, as well as some newer tech and weaponry. Probably some movie-inspired stuff as well because how could we not?”
He will still be voiced by Keith David.

☆☆ CHARACTER ARCHETYPES ☆☆

On 01/19/17(patch day) @MichaelMayhem posted this later on in the evening:

☆☆☆☆☆ TEAM UPS ☆☆☆☆☆

☯ PUNISHER, MARVEL'S DAREDEVIL ☯
There were some graphics issues with this team up and he is still being worked on.

☯ JUBILEE ☯
She will be coming with Beast.

☯ MEDUSA ☯
She will be coming with Black Bolt

☆☆ BOSSES AND MOBS SECTION ☆☆
Mob Improvements - On the 06/03/16 stream when a player asked about if there will be any changes to mobs to make them more interesting and have diversity, ChufMoney stated that "there's work being done to better differentiate the "mob soup."
☯ GRIM REAPER ☯
On the 01/20/17 Live stream they showed off Gazillion created concept art for one of the current bosses in Marvel Heroes, Grim Reaper. @Lord talked about how they were going to try and do more of this for the game in the future.

☯ BLACK PANTHER ☯
Urban Jungle Costume Variant - This costume was shown off on the 01/20/17 MH Live steam. No ETA was mentioned

  • The recipe to transfer Offensive & Defensive crafted affixes between Catalysts has been restored under the Catalyst recipe tab.

GAMEPAD CHANGES

Released button mappings were incomplete. Corrections are now reflected in the updated Control Scheme image in Gamepad Options tab. Changes include:

  • Ultimate - Switches from a Modified Left Bumper Press ("R2+L1") to a Modified Left Stick Click (R2+L3). (Accidentally firing the Ultimate was too common when attempting to use L1 for Medkit.)
  • Travel Toggle - Left Stick Click ("L3") is a more intuitive button for Travel Toggle. (Travel Toggle removed from Modified Left Trigger ("R2+L2").)
  • Escape Press - Now on "back button" (Previously R3)
  • Map Overlay - R3 is Map overlay (Previously L3)
  • Inventory - Shortcut to Inventory is now Modified D-Pad Right ("R2+Right DPad")
  • Social Panel - Social Panel shortcut is removed from a Modified D-Pad Right and only accessible through the Radial Menu
Other gamepad changes:

Massively OP Podcast Episode 101: Marvelous heroes

January 24, 2017 12 Comments

You will believe a man can fly -- and you will believe that two gamers can make a podcast. As with great power comes great responsibility, Bree and Justin stand united and ask, "Why so serious about patches?" On today's show, heroes aren't born; they're built from gear, stats, and bizarre character concepts. (It's a superhero-themed episode, if you haven't figured out by now.)

It’s the Massively OP Podcast, an action-packed hour of news, tales, opinions, and gamer emails! And remember, if you’d like to send in your own letter to the show, use the “Tips” button in the top-right corner of the site to do so.

Patch again yet cosmic terminal still broken

Marvel Heroes unveils new variant costumes, adjusts hero stats and abilities

January 26, 2017 7 Comments

The fallout from the massive and controversial Marvel Heroes Update 2.0 continues on, as players are struggling to adjust to the new game paradigm while Gazillion is faced with the task of forging forward.

The studio rolled out Patch 2.01 today, and while it doesn't change Marvel Heroes' course entirely, its across-the-board changes tell a story of a dev team responding to metrics and feedback.

Many heroes received adjustments, several crafting recipes had their costs lowered, and the cosmic trial difficulty was increased a bit.

For players chasing the vanity carrot, there are three new variant series costumes out today that come with a special emote and visual effects. Both Loki and Squirrel Girl are given outfits sans jackets (show off them guns!) while Black Panther got a cape so that he could feel more... Dark Knightish, we suppose.Read more

New Hero: Beast

Beast has joined the Hero roster of Marvel Heroes 2016!
Born with his mutation, Henry McCoy's high intellect and unusually enlarged limbs brought him much hardship before seeking refuge at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Until one fateful day when McCoy's scientific experiments went irreversibly wrong, enhancing his natural senses and constitution but inadvertently mutating him further with animal features such as claws, fangs, and fur.
As an original member of the X-Men, Hank's condition still continues to wildly mutate over time. Despite these challenges, he remains undeterred as the team's wittiest mutant of many talents. Genius. Athlete. X-Man. But to most, he is simply Beast.
New Team-Up: Jubilee

Jubilee has joined the Team-Up roster of Marvel Heroes 2016!
Jubilation Lee's parents gave their daughter a comfortable life growing up in Beverly Hills, until their assassination left her orphaned, broke and homeless. Seeking shelter and food inside a nearby shopping mall, Jubilee's latent mutant powers first manifested themselves as colorful energy plasmoids she would refer to as fireworks. Surviving as a street performer, Jubilee was taken in by the X-Men as a student at their institute where she quickly became the team's newest member.
Cosmic Difficulty Reward Updates

Cosmic power has infused many of our villains and locations throughout the game! But, with great difficulty comes great rewards! Many items have been granted additional power and many boss and enemy rewards have been increased! A suite of brand new items has been added as well!
Terminal Bounty Missions Have Returned!

Before the arrival of the Difficulty Slider, Cosmic Terminals had “Bounty Missions” that tasked players with defeating a certain number of enemies in the terminal for extra loot chests at the end. Those bounty missions have returned and are available in all three active difficulties for players at any level!
Bounty chests in Cosmic Difficulty now also include:

  • High chance for an Epic or Cosmic Catalyst
  • Low chance for a 500,000 credit chest
  • Moderate chance to drop Unstable Molecules
  • Double XP Orbs compared to Normal & Heroic
  • Higher chances to get a Boss Artifact for the terminal in which the bounty mission was completed than before the Difficulty Slider
  • Low chance for Cosmic Artifacts for the terminal in which the bounty mission was completed
Cosmic Artifacts

Cosmic Artifacts are here! Available in Cosmic Patrols and Terminals, many of your favorite artifacts have been infused with cosmic power and have become even more powerful! There are even brand new artifacts with both regular and cosmic versions!
What is a Cosmic Artifact?

Cosmic Artifacts function much like Cosmic Armor, Rings, and Catalysts do. While their existing affixes are not more powerful, they gain one of eight new Cosmic Affixes. These affixes activate in combat and can last for up to 30s once you exit combat.
These affixes are:

  • While in combat, reduce the cooldown of your Signature Powers by 10%.
  • While in combat, reduce the cooldown of your Ultimate Power by 10 seconds.
  • While in combat, your maximum Primary Resource is increased by 150.
  • While in combat, your Attributes are increased by 1.
  • While in combat, your Defense Rating is increased by 1500.
  • While in combat, your Dodge Rating is increased by 1500.
  • While in combat, your Deflect Rating is increased by 1500.
  • While in combat, your maximum Health is increased by 1500.
  • While in combat, your abilities cost 15% less Primary Resource.
Additionally, many Cosmic Artifacts have had their minimum roll ranges improved, making it much easier to obtain one with better rolls than their normal counterparts as well as making it easier to reroll for better values!
How Do I Acquire a Cosmic Artifact?

Cosmic Artifacts drop from the same bosses that Boss Artifacts have dropped from in the past, but only in Cosmic difficulty. These are not on the shared boss loot tables, only on their specific bosses in Cosmic Difficulty Terminals and Patrols.

Hero Changes

Angela

  • New Primary Resource - Heven's Wrath. This resource builds up slowly over time, and when full, triggers the Rage of Asgard buff effect.
  • While Rage of Asgard is active, all of Angela's cooldown powers will spend the resource to instantly refresh their cooldown, allowing for a large burst of rapid-fire cooldowns. During this period, no further Heven's Wrath can be generated.
  • Powers utilizing Xiphos now have a Sword keyword, and powers utilizing the Blades of Ichor now have an Ichor keyword, which are referred to in Talents. Sword powers have a general theme of generating Heven's Wrath quicker, Ichor powers have a general theme of exploiting Bleeding enemies, and Ribbon powers have a general theme of regenerating health.
  • Rending Blades - Now deals bonus damage to bleeding enemies. Animation speed slightly increased.
  • Rage of Xiphos - Animation speed drastically increased, and each hit now generates Heven's Wrath.
  • Whirling Wrath - Now a cooldown power with 3 charges, and deals bonus damage to bleeding enemies.
  • Hunter's Blades - Now a basic attack, and generates both Health and Heven's Wrath (as it is both a Ribbon and a Sword attack)
  • Ichor's Wrath - Animation speed slightly increased.
  • Know My Name And Weep - Animation speed slightly increased. Now generates Heven's Wrath.
  • Heven's Fury - Animation speed slightly increased, reducing the hit total to 8. The power now moves Angela using her Dash animation rather than clipping through to world to the targeted location.
  • Nothing for Nothing - Animation speed slightly increased for the sword sweeps and ribbon final hit. The Sword attacks now generate Heven's Wrath, and the Ribbon final hit restores a chunk of health.
  • Writhing Ribbons - Now has the bleed effect from the former Ribbon talent baked-in by default, and has a 4s cooldown. When activated, the power also restores a small amount of health. Angela no longer interrupts her other powers or stops moving when using this power.
  • Binding Ribbons - Now restores a small amount of health on use.
  • Hypnotic Ribbons - Duration adjusted to 4 seconds, cooldown increased. Now grants a moderate amount of health regeneration while the ribbons are dancing.
  • Piercing Ribbons - Now gains 1% damage per 1% attack speed.
  • Angelic Smite - Now only performs the Sword-crash portion by default and does not grant Ribbons bonus damage (these effects are moved to a talent).
  • Stunning Ichors - Animation speed greatly increased, projectile speed increased, axe range distance increased.
  • Hel & Back (Ultimate) - Can now be used while moving, has the Sword and Ichor keywords, and the buff applies immediately, so the power itself can gain its benefits.
Talents

  • Apprehending Ribbons - Now additionally restores 20 Heven’s Wrath resource when Living Ribbons strikes an enemy target.
  • Predator's Claim - Now grants bonus damage and an extra charge to Hevenly Charge, and causes it to Slow enemies.
  • Relentless - Redesigned - Now gives Sword and Ichor powers a 25% chance to automatically activate Disabling Ribbons.
  • Slaying Blade - Redesigned as "Wrathful Blade" - Now increases Sword powers' Wrath generation effects are increased by 50%. Sword power also increases by 10%
  • Sharpened Fury - Redesigned. Now grants offensive bonuses while Rage of Asgard is active, such as damage and critical chance, but causes Heven's Fury to decay when the buff is active.
  • Scything Ribbons - Now "Rejuvenating Ribbons", which increases maximum health, and raises the amount of healing provided by Ribbon powers.
  • Soaring Huntress - Now restores the ribbon-twirl portion of Angelic Smite, and adds the buff to Ribbon powers. This was migrated to a talent to make Angelic Smite more responsive by default, but can be re-added if you enjoyed it.
  • Whipping Ribbons - Now grants the offensive bonuses to Living Ribbons previously granted by Striking Ribbons.
  • Guardian Ribbons - Now allows all Ribbon powers to apply the bleed from Writhing Ribbons.
  • Ribbon Warrior - Redesigned. It now grants 10% critical hit chance to her Ichor, Ribbon, and Sword powers, if you are using each of them in a rotation, via a 4 second buff effect.
  • Tooltips were clarified for Whipping Ribbons, Apprehending Ribbons, and Guardian Ribbons. Flying Ribbons and Mistress at Arms talents have not changed.
  • Sundering Throw, Killing Blow, and Hevenly Wrath have been removed, and three new talents have been made in their place:
    • Thirsty Blades increases Ichor damage against bleeding enemies, and makes Angela take slightly less damage from bleeding enemies.
    • Mastery of Xiphos increases the number of activations of her signature by 1, and makes every activation use the Sword portion of the power.
    • Mastery of the Blades of Ichor causes every activation of her signature to use the Ribbon-wielded Blade of Ichor portion.
Blade

  • New Primary Resource - Blade's Spirit has been replaced with an Ammo meter, used by his guns and tools that he brings to a fight. His sword and chain powers are now free of cost, and can be used at any time. Ammo does not regenerate until it is fully depleted, and will quickly regenerate afterwards. During this 'reload' period, powers that spend Ammo cannot be used.
  • Hyper-Toxin Grenade and Stake Through the Heart have been re-added to Blade's main progression and no longer require a talent to use.
  • Hack n' Slash has been removed from Blade's power set - with the new Ammo resource, he has no need for multiple single target sword powers. All Out Assault serves as the go-to single target Sword attack.
  • Hand Cannon now spends a small amount of Ammo, is no longer a Basic, and deals more base damage.
  • Disembowel - Removed. All Out Assault becomes Basic. Gains bonus damage when you run out of ammo.
  • Killing Strokes has been redesigned for ease of use. The melee signature still consists of three button presses, but is more consistent with how it operates. Each activation performs the former 2nd activation - a powerful circular sword slash, as well as a bonus effect. The first slash is the shortest in radius and adds invulnerability. The second is about twice the radius as the first, and causes enemies hit to become terrified. The third is about twice the radius of the second, and deals a guaranteed critical hit.
  • Stake Thrower - Now has two charges with a 50% faster cooldown, and fire only a single stake per shot, giving more control over aiming the power. The visuals of this power have been scaled up for better impact and visibility.
  • My Namesake - Can now be animation-cancelled after the final projectiles (the stake) has launched. Projectile size of both the knives and the final stake increased for better impact and visibility. Animation time reduced down to 2.5 seconds (from 2.9)
Talents

  • Blade's talent locations have been swapped around to support these changes.
  • Steady Regimen - This talent no longer requires the Serum to be used shortly after Starving. It now increases the Serum's duration by 100%, and activating Serum instantly reloads your Ammo. Additionally, the talent also reduces the self-damage inflicted by Starving by 50%.
  • In Control tooltip rearranged to make it clear the effects are always active, not just during Serum. The talent no longer grants cost reduction.
  • Psychoactive Pheromones - Now grants the Toxin powers 1 additional charge, and increases the damage of the on-death Explosion effect by 50%
  • Precision Strikes - Now grants Any Means Necessary and Hand Cnanon 25% damage and 10% critical hit chance, and removes the ammo cost from Hand Cannon (allowing it to be used while reloading).
  • Life of the Party - Now also makes Party Crasher always deal a critical hit if used while Starving
  • Hyper-Toxin Grenade - Removed, as this power is now a part of Blade's base kit again. In its place, "Killer Glaive" has been added, adding a cooldown and bonus damage to Unleash Glaive and Glaive Orbit, and increasing Unleash Glaive's bounce count.
  • Stake Through the Heart - Removed, as this power is now a part of Blade's base kit again. In its place, "Vicious Wounds" has been added, increasing the damage of his Grievous Wounds effects and adding a slow effect to it.
  • Fearsome Arsenal - Now "Expanded Arsenal", increasing maximum Ammo, reducing Ammo costs, and increases damage of Shotgun and RapidFire by 15%.
  • Deadly Aim - Redesigned as "Sharpened Stakes". Now increases the maximum charges of Stake Thrower and Stake Through The Heart by 1, and increases their bonus damage vs bleeding enemies by an additional 50%.
  • Vibranium Batteries - Now additionally grants +1 maximum charge to UV Grenade.
  • Indomitable Hunter - Now "Vampire Hunter", increasing damage, critical chance, brutal chance, and incoming damage received by a small amount. The effects are tripled while Starving.
  • Ruthless Efficiency - Now causes your signature to restore your Ammo and refresh all cooldowns and charges of other powers.
  • Patient Hunter - Redesigned. Now increases signature damage by 10%, and causes it to be reduced in cooldown by 1s whenever you use another Cooldown power. These effects are doubled while Starving.
Bug Fixes:

  • Never Sated talent now properly grants 50% more health regeneration while Starving as the tooltip indicates
Cable

Bug Fixes:

  • The roaming beam from Greymalkin Bombardment will no longer display a health bar.
Captain America

  • Fixed Crashdown Strike not refreshing Photonic Energy when used immediately after Stellar Strike.
Colossus

  • Colossus damage resistance from Armor changed to 60%.
Cyclops

  • Hyper Optic Beam now has unique audio, separate from the normal Optic Beam.
Hulk

Bug Fixes:

  • Hulk Wreck Everything talent will now properly cause the cooldown of Meteor Strike to be reduced.
Iceman

Bug Fixes:

  • Renewing Cold talent now displays the correct amount of damage bonus on the tooltip (100%), and the tooltip reflects that this damage bonus increases Ice Slick's damage, not Iceman's while he is standing in an Ice Slick.
Iron Man

Bug Fixes:

  • Upgrade Arc Reactor talent no longer lists a defunct tooltip regarding increasing the size of Arc Reactor Overload
Jean Grey

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue where Jean could get into a bad animation state when entering Psionic Avatar form out of combat, then switching to the Unleash the Phoenix Talent while Psionic Avatar was still active.
Magik

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed Magik's Back From Limbo doing excessive amounts of damage towards the end of the power's duration.
Magneto

Bug Fixes:

  • Debris visual scraps floating around Magneto have returned based on his current Debris amount.
  • Wrecking Ball will no longer fire at an angle away from the targeted position.
  • Metal Tempest visuals will no longer appear slightly to the right of where you are targeting.
Moon Knight

Bug Fixes:

  • Cestus Uppercut will now display the number of charges on the tooltip when Tools of Vengeance: Cestus Gauntlet talent is selected.
Nova

  • New resource - Nova Force. Nova Force constantly regenerates and doesn’t pause when you use a power. Power resource costs and restoration values have been adjusted to match this new resource.
  • Cosmic Shockwave (Talent) now also increases Movement Power damage by 25%.
  • Triggered Nova Pulse (Talent) now also increases Nova Pulse’s damage by 50%.
  • Nova Corps Training’s (Talent) doubled effect now triggers when you use a Movement Power instead of when you detonate a Pulsar with a Power.
  • Unstable Accumulation (Talent) now additionally restores a charge of Blast Off! when you detonate a Pulsar with a Power and allows Pulsar Powers to be used while moving. Other Talent effects remain unchanged.
  • Cosmic Combo’s dashing effect is now treated as a movement power.
  • Blast Off! Max charges increased to 4.
  • Nova Beam Radiance will no longer lock you in place while channeling Nova Beam.
Psylocke

Bug Fixes:

  • Clarified Finish the Job tooltip - it will state 'refresh the cooldown' of Katana Typhoon if it has no charges.
Rogue

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue that caused a stolen power to not appear immediately in the stolen power library unless a second power was stolen, or the player changed regions. Stolen powers should now be visible in the stolen power library immediately.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a minor hitch each time Rogue successfully stole a new power.
  • Rogue's stolen Human Torch power no longer lists +0% damage to Pyrotechnic Burst on the tooltip, but the accurate value of 10%.

  • Fixed an issue where Focused Barrage would not deal damage if the hotkey was released immediately
Thing

Bug Fixes:

  • Call-In powers no longer give hidden bonus damage to Bronx Beatdown - this was removed in the Talent update in favor of a different affix but was still providing the bonus.
Thor

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an issue that could result in Thor entering a T-pose state when using the Ragnarok power while certain Talents were selected.
  • Bring the Thunder no longer refers to an invalid mechanic when the God Force talent is chosen.
  • Odinforce Trait no longer uses the same icon as Son of Odin.
  • Aura of Asgard talent will now properly apply the Empowered buff when For Asgard! is automatically activated via the Anti-Force.
  • Fixed Thor's Odinforce bar not displaying the correct amount of accumulated Odinforce.
Vision

Bug Fixes:

  • Phase flavor text adjusted to match the power's animation, no longer referring to going under enemies.
Wolverine

  • Run Through will no longer pause after moving. The mechanics of the movement had to slightly change in order for this to occur - Run Through will now only cause Wolverine to move to the opposite side of his target if he is in melee range. If used as a gap-closer, he will move to the front of his target.
Miscellaneous Changes & Bug Fixes

  • The following hero's primary resources will no longer be generated to full upon level up, as these resources are not traditionally 'spent' and can cause issues when filled out of the normal rotation:
    • Storm's Tempest, Gambit's Kinetic Energy, Hulk and She-Hulk's Anger, Juggernaut's Momentum, Venom's Ichor
  • Human Torch, Scarlet Witch, and Storm's Primary Resources will no longer be in a bugged state if their resource becomes fully spent while in a hub.
  • Donating an item to your pet for Cybernetics should now work correctly immediately after that affix tier has been reset at the crafter.
  • The Nefarious Mask of Doom artifact may now be unbound at crafters. So says Doom.
  • Fixed an issue with the Chapter 6: Stryker Under Siege mission where the completed mission failed to grant a reward.
  • The room housing Taskmaster’s mysterious tape in Chapter 2 will keep it's portal door open until you've completed the objective to view it.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause a mission's objective to revert to a previous step incorrectly in some circumstances, such as when changing Difficulty Slider settings.
  • Fixed instances where the Chapter 5 Mutant Shakedown Story Mission could not be completed due to insufficient civilians.
  • Dreadnoughts have been removed from Doctor Doom's Phase 3 summons.
  • The Cable boss in the unique Danger Room scenario will now be able to provide the Cable stolen power to Rogue.
  • Uniques and other items in Midtown Patrol no longer drop at level 57 for level 60 heroes.
  • Gourd of Prestige can no longer be used on a Hero while you are currently in a party. The item tooltip has been updated to reflect this change.
  • Pressing the map button will now cycle between minimap, fullscreen map and hiding the map.

Known Issues

  • A.R.M.O.R.E.D. Catalyst Boxes are currently not available for purchase from Jocasta's or Clea's inventory due to an issue with the Catalysts they produce. These will be added back to their inventories for purchase once this issue has been addressed in an upcoming game update.
  • Beast's Feral Flare power is currently displaying the incorrect power name. This will be corrected in the next game update.

Marvel Heroes gets wild with Beast and Jubilee

February 3, 2017 9 comments

[YT]2tuflUnCFAE[/YT]
Two of X-Men's finest have joined the crew over at Marvel Heroes. This week, Gazillion added Beast as the game's 60th playable hero and Jubilee as the newest team-up character. The patch also came with the addition of cosmic artifacts to the game and the return of terminal bounty missions.

In other Marvel Heroes news, the studio clarified a change that was slipped into the 2.0 update. Basically, when players are going through content on normal difficulty, there is now no chance of unique or cosmic gear to drop from mobs or bosses; players will need to increase the difficulty to epic or higher for better gear.

The community was not pleased to discover this, saying that the studio failed on communicating the change and will adversely affect the progression and availability of gear for new players and alts.
Check out Beast and Jubilee doing their thing after the break!

Animation Improvements, Reponsiveness, & Animation Cancelling, Coming Soon!

MichaelMayhem

GazillionLocationSan Mateo, CAStaff

February 11
Greetings everyone!
Some of you may have noticed the hero updates slow down slightly this week, and though that was partially due to bug fixes, we've also taken some time out to resolve a long-standing friction point with almost all heroes - Animation Lock.'

Shipping with the next patch, we have vastly opened up our Animation Cancelling feature, and have allowed most cooldown and non-spammable powers to be animation cancelled shortly after their 'contact time', or 'the point at which the power deals damage'. Powers can never be cancelled before the contact time, so you don't have to worry about cancelling out of a power before it hits.

Animation cancelling is performed automatically so long as you have queued a power, so you don't have to worry about precise timing of button presses - the cancelling will happen behind the scenes as long as you have queued up another power to activate. The most noticeable way to see this is when using a Dash power - Cooldown powers with long animations can now be cancelled by using a Dash power much faster than before, getting you out of harm's way sooner, ultimately making the game feel more responsive and giving you more control over your hero.

Here's an example: Captain America has a movie-inspired animation for his shield throwing powers, which has a bit of flourish time at the end as the shield leaves his hands - half a second, to be precise, from the time the shield leaves his hands to the time you regain control of Cap. Now, after the shield is in the air as a projectile, if another power has already been queued (or you activate another power manually), then that flourish at the end will blend seamlessly into the new power that has been activated. If you want to see the flourish, no worries - it will always play as long as you aren't telling the game via another key press that you want to do something else immediately. To help visualize this, here is a sample of the timeline before & after:

Before - 900 Millisecond Animation of a Non-Repeatable Power
|-Start------~450 MS------Contact Time-------~400 MS----Power Is Cancellable-~50 MS-End-|
After - 900 Millisecond Animation of a Non-Repeatable Power

|-Start------~450 MS------Contact Time-~50 MS-Power Is Cancellable----~400 MS------End-|

These cancel windows are meticulously manually placed, to ensure that no animation 'breaks' or looks awkward when cancelled. For example, Human Torch's Scorching Pyre has a very slightly longer than average cancel window, because he's up in the air during the contact time, and interrupting the animation at that point causes some visual hitches. We instead allow him to cancel when he's about halfway back to the ground.

Additionally, we took the time to analyze every single animation in the game regarding its lock time - how much time between the moment the power is activated to the moment the power deals damage. This time frame is always going to prevent further power activation and movement, since cancelling is only allowed after the power has dealt damage. Any animations that were found to be excessively long have been trimmed down, and some animations have been replaced entirely with new, crisper, more responsive animations.

In total, over 400 Hero Powers have been changed to better their responsiveness in this pass.
Question: Will this mean I need to execute these cancels in order to maximize DPS?!

Answer: Strictly technically speaking, yes. However - since the system accepts queued commands as instructions to cancel, most players won't change the physical button presses of a rotation. Almost all players queued the next power they wanted to use quite some time before they were allowed to use it, and the power queuing system simply took care of executing the power when it was able to do so. All of that is still true - the only difference is that those powers will be executed just a hair bit faster than before. If you are familiar with a particular rotation, you will not need to master new timings or make flawlessly timed key presses - the queuing system will still do the work for you, just like it did before.

We're excited to deliver this long-requested feature - it really does feel like a night & day difference regarding the responsiveness of the game. We expect it to be released towards the end of the month. Current expectations are that this will be available in Public TC next week, but as always, dates are subject to change.

PSA: Make sure you submit character feedback in Marvel Heroes by tomorrow

February 13, 2017 9 comments

In case you're among the players still unimpressed or even downright unhappy with Marvel Heroes' biggest patch ever -- now a few weeks distant -- you should probably be aware that Gazillion is continuing to collect feedback on specific endgame heroes.

Players have until February 15th to head to the feedback collection forms and rate those characters they've gotten to 60. Ticked off about your character's movement speed? Make yourself heard. Annoyed about pet class hotbar buttons? Now is the time.

"The survey feedback will go directly to our design team as they continue to implement feedback and fix bugs,"
says the studio.

Massively OP conducted an interview with Gazillion following the controversial patch, and we're hoping to have that back and out to you sooner rather than later.Read more

Some pics I got off the forums didn't look as good as the costume did in game(lighting or they didn't have the graphics turned up all the way), so I delete them from the OP and added mine in the comments.

Marvel Heroes makes big changes to summoner builds

February 15, 2017 3 comments

Pets and pet classes are one of the strengths of Marvel Heroes, as the superhero game has scads of characters that can summon and control minions, from Emma Frost to Squirrel Girl to Doctor Doom. These archetypes have been struggling with the fallout of the 2.0 update, but Gazillion said that it is currently testing out some major changes that could help these player pocket armies.

On the forums, the studio posted a list of summoner changes, saying, "Essentially, in this upcoming patch we will be changing all summoners to scale off normal damage stats rather than summoned ally damage bonuses."

It seems as though this move is to allow pet-using superheroes a lot more flexibility in their gear choices and loadouts. The new changes are on the test center, and Gazillion is asking for summoners to give them a try and keep an eye out for bugs.Read more

Damn I really need them to hurry and release this for PS4.
things would be easyier if they'd give both tribal sage and me details on console over all and which ones this game will come to . even if it's all plat forms like they orginally planned.

but they have priority's like making fun again among alot of other stuff patch wise . So I'm still waiting. man I'm I waiting

well sky forge is coming so this will eventually too. they don't want to be left behind

If they're balancing it out then I can definitely wait but man i wish my Laptop was stronger graphics wise.
