Yeah, I am going to go with the X-Men and FF being classic characters who are already a part of the meta. Which is why they will be put in. Wolverine, Magneto, Sentinel, Storm, Cyclops, Doom, Gambit, Super Skrull, etc.

The thing is, none of the actual Four have ever been in the fighting games, just Doom, Galactus and Super Skrull.

Considering how they used Super Skrull last time, they don't need them either.

He was a decent blend of the men but IW was poorly represented with him. If he makes it back, I think she should still be considered

yeah New Mutants, if it ever comes out.

She sounds so good on paper. She's a teleporter, has a big sword, is a sorceress with access to spells and she can conjure up demons to fight alongside her. Plus I really want to use her against Dr. Strange :D

I've really enjoyed reading Majik in X-books of the last few years.

She could make for a really interesting character with a unique power set and style.

plus, she's hot and BLONDE!!

which is the most important thing to me. :o

DLC for fighting games is nothing new. Warner Bros. Interactive and NetherRealm did it for Mortal Kombat X too.

Hell they've been doing this even before DLC existed. It was really no different back in the SNES days. They would basically add DLC and charge you 50 to 60 dollars by calling it a new title. See: Street Fighter 2, Street Fighter 2 Hyper Fighting, Super Street Fighter 2 and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo or Mortal Kombat 3, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat Trilogy. All cost 50 to 60 bucks and by the standards of today, all were not much more than DLC updates.

I don't mind DLC, as long as the base roster is a good size. and as long as the DLC characters aren't already "on the disc" and you have to buy the DLC to basically unlock them.

and if they include X-Men and FF characters as DLC, I'd rather they be as expansion packs that add a good number of characters and incorporate those characters into the story.

So, an X-Men themed expansion would add a good number of X characters ( like 5 or 6? ) and add them into the story. Same with a FF expansion.

that being said, I hope there are at least a few X and FF characters on the base roster.

If not even Wolverine makes the base roster, then I think he's likely going to be a free DLC character, as incentive to buy all the others.

Predictions:

Captain America
Wolverine
Hulk
Magneto
Dr. Strange
Spider-Man
Wolverine
Deadpool

Juggernaut

There's a few in your list that could be replaced with Marvel owned/partially owned characters. I feel like Wolverine and Deadpool have a shot of being in the game but the rest feel like they'd be downloadable content. So I switched what I thought could go in their place.

Captain America
Captain Marvel
Wolverine
Hulk
Magneto Scarlet Witch
Dr. Strange
Spider-Man
Deadpool
X-23 Squirrel Girl or Black Widow
Juggernaut
Dr. Doom
Ant-Man
Black Panther
Loki [What about Thor?]
Blade
Moon Knight
The Punisher
Ghost Rider
Psylocke Elektra
Apocalypse Thanos
Star-Lord

I also feel like Ms. Marvel could get put in along with some other female characters.

This is mostly a wish list from the article maker. But it's also an interesting one and no different then other's making them here. but then againthe thing I found interesting as far as most gamer news out lets along with this one & where this one are involved is how far Dare devil (who I've always called the batman of the MU) has come all due to netflix's. Hopefully he gets his due in this game .

Justin’s Most Wanted Characters for Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite

Thursday, December 22nd, 2016
Hopefully we will get to play as one or more of these characters!

Marvel Vs Capcom 4 is now at a thing, or rather Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite is now a thing. Many of us thought this would never happen as it was never fully clear whether Capcom would be able to gain the rights Marvel properties again after their movies have blown up in popularity in recent years. However at the last PSX, what was just a rumor was now proved to be a reality. Next year, we will have the next iteration of what is one of my favorite fighting game series. I’ve been following these games ever since X-Men Vs Street Fighter back in the day, both in the arcade and at home on PS1. I always love crossover games like these as people always try to predict the roster for the game. This time, I will jump on that bandwagon as well and show you who I would like to see in the game on both the Capcom and Marvel side.

Venom – Why Venom was not in Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is beyond me. You might say it was due to a certain “divisive” movie, but he was incredible in the original Marvel Vs Capcom and its sequel Besides with the new Spider-man movie coming out, it would make sense to promote this series more and attempt to regain some of the goodwill back from the 5 people that still read Spider-Man after those last couple of arcs and the cancellation of a particular show…

The Punisher – For you youngins out there, Capcom actually had the rights to The Punisher back in the day. They even released a Final Fight-style beat ’em up where you can play as both him and Nick Fury. If The Punisher makes it into Marvel Vs Capcom Infinite, that would be an incredible opportunity for Capcom to include easter eggs for fans of their older games and also Punisher is just a badass!

Black Widow – Today, The Avengers are HUGE! Yet for some reason, I notice many people seem to not give Black Widow as much attention as the rest of the guys despite her being a cool character. She has yet to get her own movie (probably because it would be rated R considering her backstory), and also the rest of that team is in the game, why not add her too? An acrobatic gun-slinging assassin has EVERY right to be in this kind of game and I would definitely look forward to kicking butt as her.

Daredevil – I would love to see Daredevil in this game due to the very nature of his abilities. The guy is blind meaning his main attacks wouldn’t necessarily be too offense heavy but instead rely on his other senses to fight enemies. How do you capture this in a 2D fighting game? I would imagine making him more of a counter/defensive character is a solid way to accomplish this, though that would make him a much more technical character. It’s kind of different for these kind of games as they tend to favor the aggressive playstyles, but perhaps having a more defensive character in the lineup could very well be the thing to add a whole new layer of depth to the series.

Anyone from the Fantastic 4 – This might be a controversial pick as I know with the recent movies, they are not exactly popular. I do think having these characters in the game could add some genuinely unique approaches to fighting games considering their abilities. It would also be really cool if their super moves can have them calling the rest of the team to help them dish out massive damage!

Jin Saotome – Jin is one of the craziest characters from the original Marvel Vs Capcom. Each of his punches can set you on fire and when low on health he can activate super armor. He can even call in a mech so big that just the fist takes up half of the screen as he screams BLOOOOODIIAAAA!!! Sure Jin is fairly obscure and relatively unknown to newer gamers, but he has such a unique sense of style that would be more than welcome in this game. It’s such a shame he was cut from Marve Vs Capcom 3 as we never got to see the greatest taunt in HD:

Gene – Gene, like the already confirmed Mega Man X is a character that got passed over in Marvel Vs Capcom 3 despite ranking high in the controversial character poll. God Hand was a very misunderstood game when it came out. Other than being the butt of a long-running meme involving a certain big name video game journalism outlet, God Hand developed somewhat of a cult following. I’ve been playing the game a lot lately and I have to say, it is absolutely brilliant. The developers will have NO trouble coming up with moves for him, I mean listen to the credits song. This character writes itself!

Franziska Von Karma – The lady with a cold stare and her hand on a whip. Franziska was a force to be reckoned with in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney − Justice for All and only became more endearing of a character as the series went on. I would hate to count the amount of times she has whipped Phoenix Wright throughout the games. She was supposedly meant to be a character in the highly underrated and overlooked Tatsunoko Vs Capcom, but the developers were not able to get it quite right. Now is the time for them to try again so her and Phoenix can finally settle their differences.

Valgas – The final boss from the original Power Stone would make an amazing addition to Marvel vs Capcom Infinite. This man is menacing but also incredibly fun to play as. Honestly, having Power Stone characters, in general, would be great especially since gems will be a gameplay mechanic in this new game. These characters would transition wonderfully!
These are just a small sample of the characters that could be put into this game.

All it takes is checking out a few YouTube reaction videos to see how excited—and shocked—fans were to see Capcom announce Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite at PlayStation Experience 2016. Of course, once the excitement died down, the terrible truth sank in: We would now have an excruciating wait until the game’s release. To help pass a little of the time until that fateful day, we’ve dug through all of the information released since the game’s reveal to give you a clearer picture of what to expect when the game hits next year.
MVCI-MMX-Ryu.jpg

What we know we know

What are the basics of the gameplay? By far the biggest change here is the switch from 3-versus-3 to a 2-versus-2 format, harkening back to the original Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes. Tagging in and out between your characters will be instantaneous, in part to facilitate the stringing together of combos (in similar fashion to Street Fighter X Tekken). Meanwhile, the Delayed Hyper Combos last seen in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be making a return. What won’t be returning, however, are assists.
What cast members are known so far? At the game’s reveal during PlayStation Experience 2016, we saw the reveal of four characters: Iron Man and Captain Marvel on the Marvel side, and Ryu and Mega Man X on the Capcom side. Right after that, we got the announcement of two additional characters: Captain America and Morrigan.
Is the game actually going to have single-player content? It seems Capcom has learned their lesson from the release of Street Fighter V, as MvC: Infinite already has an Arcade mode announced for it. Along with that, the game will have Cinematic Story and Training options, as well as Missions to challenge. We also know that writer Frank Tieri is involved with the game in some fashion—while he’s not saying anything more than that for now, it seems reasonable that he might be helping work on the writing for the single-player content.
What tech is being used for the game? Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be running on Unreal Engine 4, the same engine used for Street Fighter V. Also similar to Capcom’s currently-running fighter, MvC: Infinite will feature ranked and casual matches, online lobbies with spectator mode, and global leaderboards.
What do we know about its release? Unlike Street Fighter V, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite isn’t going for any sort of exclusivity, so it’ll be hitting the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. As for a release date, talk currently is of a late 2017 release—but anything more specific than that is a detail that Capcom is keeping quiet about for now.
MVCI-IM-CM.jpg

What we think we know

What’s the situation with X-Men and Fantastic Four characters? Well, there’s good news and bad news on this one based on what we know at this point. On the bad side, while Marvel has the right to use characters from both of those franchises in games, the company has an internal ban on doing so for any releases coming after 2014’s Marvel: Contest of Champions. The reason is simple: the company is still engaged in a feud with 20th Century Fox, and they don’t want to help promote any characters that are still under the rights of the movie production company. So, this means that beloved MvC characters such as Magneto, Wolverine, Dr. Doom, and Sentinel are probably off of the table—at least in the beginning. NeoGAF user Ryce—one of the people to leak MvC: Infinite in the first place—claims that both X-Men and Fantastic Four characters have been cleared to come later as DLC. Who exactly that’ll include if it happens, however, remains to be seen.
Who is being rumored to be in the game beyond the six announced characters? There are a few rumors currently floating around about who might be showing up in the game. Polygon had “multiple sources” confirm to them that a new Marvel vs. Capcom title was coming—though they were calling it “Marvel vs. Capcom 4” as of that point—which included talk of Ant-Man and Groot. While they didn’t really clarify why they believe so, Eurogamer seems certain that Rocket Raccoon and Doctor Strange will also be showing up in the game. Going back to NeoGAF for a moment, member SaikyoBro said they “know for a fact” that Nathan “Rad” Spencer from Bionic Commando will show up—but, again, we aren’t clear on the legitimacy of their source.
What’s up with the Infinity Stones? The Infinity Stones will be a new system that replaces X-Factor from Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. In Capcom’s 1995 fighting game Marvel Super Heroes, Infinity Gems were part of the game, granting players temporary boosts based around Power, Time, Space, Reality, Soul, and Mind. While MvC: Infinite‘s Infinity Stones may work similarly to MSH‘s version, there are at least small differences between the two from what we know as of now—such as the older Gems and new Stones not matching up color-wise. (They do, however, match up to the current canonical color choices in the MCU.) So far, Capcom has revealed two of the Stones: Power (purple), which seems to booth the strength of attacks; and Time (green), which looks to increase the speed at which characters can move or unleash combos.
MVCI-Ryu.jpg

What we still want to know

Who’s the rest of the cast? Really, that’s the biggest question that exists at this point on the mind of every fan out there. On the Marvel side, we can at least assume that particular characters that are being pushed currently in comics and movies will have a strong chance of being candidates. The previous games tended to also include some more lesser-known choices as well, though, so will we see that trend return here? The bigger unknown may actually be on the Capcom side, as there’s a lot more freedom in what choices can be made—especially when it comes to the unexpected and downright bizarre possibilities. We can all assume that Chun-Li will be showing up, but how far and wide might Capcom dip into their vast legacy of characters beyond those two? Will they go for choices that help promote their current slate of games, or will they do some serious digging into their archives?
What is the game going to look like? While the visuals shown for the game’s reveal certainly aren’t bad, they definitely are somewhat plain compared to the more comic book-style graphics that were implemented for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Of course, the visuals for a game are often one of the latter things to be polished up before release, and Capcom’s most recently fighting game, Street Fighter V, went through obvious changes between when it was first shown off and when the final game hit. So, is the graphical style that we’ve seen so far how the game is going to look? Or could there potentially been some cool visual gimmick that’s not to be revealed until a later date?

Well yes if we're talking about the x-men and ff showing up then indeed that's sorta correct. but then again if look at it another way it another site adding to the possibility giving it credence to who reported it earlier.

But I was also more alluding to the fact that capcom showed up to my buddies post to asking those of us that answered there " what characters and what we'd like to see in the game" after he put it up and we answered .

oh almost for got this is even more current from the same place

Yup there were like a half-dozen versions of Street Fighter 2 back in the 1990s before Street Fighter 3 finally happened.

Nothing new in that article, nothing but rehashed information and pure speculation.

Apparently alot of site are saying this is dated but no real full on date yet. here's been put out

1482934208MarvelcCapcomInfinite2017.jpg

Details for the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite have been very basic at best when it was first announced at the PlayStation Experience.

While we already know that it will follow the 2v2 format, feature arcade mode, Mission, and Cinematic Story Mode, and a new villain, we’ve only been given so much as a glimpse by way of the announcement trailer.

In an interview with 4Gamer (translated by EventHubs), Capcom’s Tomoaki Ayano has finally confirmed the time window in which the studio is looking to release Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite.

“Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is set to release in the latter half of 2017.”

While this in itself is already good news, Ayano gave even more hints of what the studio has in store as far as its games are concerned. He continued that another title coming in 2017 is Street Fighter’s 30th anniversary.

“something” is remains to be seen, but Capcom teased that “anyone who’s a Street Fighter fan, get as excited as you’re capable for this upcoming year.”

Just this year, Street Fighter V was released with a rocky start. There hasn’t been a lot of game-changing progress, so it is possible that the upcoming 2017 Street Fighter treat will be far more of a title for the pros.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be released on the PS4 come 2017.

Hmm.... Venom. The new Brock version or Flash? Also, the list looses credibility when they list Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel as different characters.
