Just got Umvc3 for PS4. Anyone down for a few matches hit me up. Venom8982 is my PSN.

Played a couple nights on the xbone, seems to be really solid online, getting smooth fights even with only a bar or two on the connection indicator!

Infinite will be 'technically easier' than past Marvel vs. Capcom games.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be Capcom’s most “simplistic” fighting game yet.
That’s coming straight from Capcom boss Stuart Turner himself, who is making pains to stress the game’s accessibility for newcomers.
In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Turner called Infinite a “great introduction to the [fighting game] genre as a whole, far more simplistic and technically easier to pick up and play.”
Some of this appeal, he explained, is because the game “obviously [has] some of the best known characters on the planet from the Marvel Universe [with] huge appeal, especially to that younger new audience we’re keen to bring in.”
That might be cause for worry among traditional fighting game fans, but Capcom has previously touted the game’s approachability while simultaneously emphasizing that there would still be room for skilled players to enjoy themselves. At last year’s PlayStation Experience, Marvel Games’ executive producer Mike Jones, explained that Marvel and Capcom want Infinite to appeal to both veterans and newcomers to the fighting game genre.
“There’s an element of approachability to it, you know, accessibility, and that’s part of why it’s called Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, and not necessarily Marvel vs. Capcom 4,” Jones explained at the time. “We want all that depth of these systems under the hood [to] be there for people to get there in the lab and experiment… It makes it easier for people who are maybe just fans of the characters, fans of Marvel, fans of Capcom, and are not fighting game experts… to really get into this and enjoy it.”
The fighting game is expected to release sometime in 2017, and will be playable on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

This is the same stuff they said about MvC3.

"MvC3 will be more approachable for newcomers and casual fans, while still deep enough for competitive gamers".

Its just funny how they say this for every installment, as if the last time they said it wasn't true about the last game, apparently.

All it takes is checking out a few YouTube reaction videos to see how excited—and shocked—fans were to see Capcom announce Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite at PlayStation Experience 2016. Of course, once the excitement died down, the terrible truth sank in: We would now have an excruciating wait until the game’s release. To help pass a little of the time until that fateful day, we’ve dug through all of the information released since the game’s reveal to give you a clearer picture of what to expect when the game hits this year.
MVCI-MMX-Ryu.jpg

What we know we know

What are the basics of the gameplay? By far the biggest change here is the switch from 3-versus-3 to a 2-versus-2 format, harkening back to the original Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes. Tagging in and out between your characters will be instantaneous, in part to facilitate the stringing together of combos (in similar fashion to Street Fighter X Tekken). Meanwhile, the Delayed Hyper Combos last seen in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be making a return. What won’t be returning, however, are assists.
But will I be able to play it?If you’ve ever watched any of the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournaments that have taken place in recent years, you’ll know that the game can seem fast, chaotic, complex, and decidedly newbie-unfriendly. In an interview last March with Gamesindustry.biz, however, Capcom Europe COO Stuart Turner called Marvel vs. Capcom a “great introduction to the genre,” one that’s “far more simplistic and technically easier to pick up and play.” While Turner didn’t specify Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite by name in that statement, those and other comments he made do hint that Capcom wants the game to be accessible for a wide segment of fans—including those who love the Marvel universe—and not just fighting game die-hards.
That echoes what Marvel Games executive producer Mike Jones said about MvC: Infinite late last year, when he noted that the game would be “more elegant and simplified” while remaining as “complex and hardcore” as previous titles in the franchise. Plus, we’ve already seen the publisher try to ease the barrier for entry in Street Fighter V, so continuing that mentality of making a fighter that’s easy to learn but hard to master with Infinite wouldn’t at all be surprising.
What Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite cast members are known so far? At the game’s reveal during PlayStation Experience 2016, we saw the reveal of four characters: Iron Man and Captain Marvel on the Marvel side, and Ryu and Mega Man X on the Capcom side. Right after that, we got the announcement of two additional characters: Captain America and Morrigan. While we still don’t know any roster choices beyond those original six, Capcom Producer Yoshinori Ono visited Marvel’s offices in Burbank, California, in late March, where further discussions on who would be showing up no doubt went down.
Is Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite going to have single-player content? It seems Capcom has learned their lesson from the release of Street Fighter V, as MvC: Infinite already has a confirmed Arcade mode. Along with that, the game will have Cinematic Story and Training options, as well as Missions to challenge. We also know that writer Frank Tieri is involved with the game in some fashion—while he’s not saying anything more than that for now, it seems reasonable that he might be helping work on the writing for the single-player content.
What tech is being used for the game? Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite will be running on Unreal Engine 4, the same engine used for Street Fighter V. Also similar to Capcom’s currently-running fighter, MvC: Infinite will feature ranked and casual matches, online lobbies with spectator mode, and global leaderboards.
What do we know about its release? Unlike Street Fighter V, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite isn’t going for any sort of exclusivity, so it’ll be hitting the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. As for a release date, talk currently is of a late 2017 release—but anything more specific than that is a detail that Capcom is keeping quiet about for now.

What we think we know

What’s the situation with X-Men and Fantastic Four characters? Well, there’s good news and bad news on this one based on what we know at this point. On the bad side, while Marvel has the right to use characters from both of those franchises in games, the company has an internal ban on doing so for any releases coming after 2014’s Marvel: Contest of Champions. The reason is simple: the company is still engaged in a feud with 20th Century Fox, and they don’t want to help promote any characters that are still under the rights of the movie production company. So, this means that beloved MvC characters such as Magneto, Wolverine, Dr. Doom, and Sentinel are probably off of the table—at least in the beginning. NeoGAF user Ryce—one of the people to leak MvC: Infinite in the first place—claims that both X-Men and Fantastic Four characters have been cleared to come later as DLC. Who exactly that’ll include if it happens, however, remains to be seen.
Who is being rumored to be in the game beyond the six announced characters? There are a few rumors currently floating around about who might be showing up in the game. Polygon had “multiple sources” confirm to them that a new Marvel vs. Capcom title was coming—though they were calling it “Marvel vs. Capcom 4” as of that point—which included talk of Ant-Man and Groot. While they didn’t really clarify why they believe so, Eurogamer seems certain that Rocket Raccoon and Doctor Strange will also be showing up in the game. Going back to NeoGAF for a moment, member SaikyoBro said they “know for a fact” that Nathan “Rad” Spencer from Bionic Commando will show up—but, again, we aren’t clear on the legitimacy of their source.
What’s up with the Infinity Stones? The Infinity Stones will be a new system that replaces X-Factor from Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. In Capcom’s 1995 fighting game Marvel Super Heroes, Infinity Gems were part of the game, granting players temporary boosts based around Power, Time, Space, Reality, Soul, and Mind. While MvC: Infinite‘s Infinity Stones may work similarly to MSH‘s version, there are at least small differences between the two from what we know as of now—such as the older Gems and new Stones not matching up color-wise. (They do, however, match up to the current canonical color choices in the MCU.) So far, Capcom has revealed two of the Stones: Power (purple), which seems to booth the strength of attacks; and Time (green), which looks to increase the speed at which characters can move or unleash combos.

What we still want to know

Who’s the rest of the cast? Really, that’s the biggest question that exists at this point on the mind of every fan out there. On the Marvel side, we can at least assume that particular characters that are being pushed currently in comics and movies will have a strong chance of being candidates. The previous games tended to also include some more lesser-known choices as well, though, so will we see that trend return here? The bigger unknown may actually be on the Capcom side, as there’s a lot more freedom in what choices can be made—especially when it comes to the unexpected and downright bizarre possibilities. We can all assume that Chun-Li will be showing up, but how far and wide might Capcom dip into their vast legacy of characters beyond those two? Will they go for choices that help promote their current slate of games, or will they do some serious digging into their archives?
What is the game going to look like? While the visuals shown for the game’s reveal certainly aren’t bad, they definitely are somewhat plain compared to the more comic book-style graphics that were implemented for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Of course, the visuals for a game are often one of the latter things to be polished up before release, and Capcom’s most recently fighting game, Street Fighter V, went through obvious changes between when it was first shown off and when the final game hit. So, is the graphical style that we’ve seen so far how the game is going to look? Or could there potentially been some cool visual gimmick that’s not to be revealed until a later date?

Rocket Raccoon, Thor, Ultron, and more.

When Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite was revealed at PSX in December, only a small handful of character were revealed for the game. Since then, fans have been speculating at who would show up next in the iconic fighting series.
Today, it was revealed via NeoGAF that a press event for MvC: Infinite was recently held in Germany and a whole plethora of information was revealed. Although the information is embargoed until later this week, one site accidentally published eight new characters that will be joining the game's roster. You can view the list below.

 • Ultron
 • Hulk
 • Thor
 • Hawkeye
 • Rocket Raccoon
 • Chun Li
 • Strider
 • Chris
So far it looks as if we'll be getting a healthy amount of iconic Marvel characters (both heroes and villains) as well as some fan favorite Capcom characters such as the legendary Chris Redfield from Resident Evil. Although these new characters have yet to be confirmed by Capcom, several reputable sources have reportedly confirmed that the roster is real.

I got confirmation from multiple people that the list is legit; also, this probably isn't the entire roster (I expect newcomers @ E3) https://***********/Lordofthesuplex/status/856580920018644992 …

Lol, nice leaks but more female characters please. They really shouldn't leave out FF or X-Men if only because most of marvels most famous female characters come from x-men and sue storm.

It's all about the MCU now.

Well, I mean...then why can't Capcom provide all the ladies? Its not just a Marvel game, ppls...

They had no problem with project x(cross)zone. the capcom side should be able to provide that as well.

Well, I mean...then why can't Capcom provide all the ladies? Its not just a Marvel game, ppls...

They shouldn't have to provide all the women. Marvel needs to give fans what most of us want and provide X-women (and men) and Sue Storm. They still have comics to sell and the x-men aren't going anywhere no matter how much marvel wants Inhumans to replace them. Hell Storm has long been considered marvels Wonder Woman and to place her only as possible dlc is ridiculous. I'm guessing we'll see:

Blackwidow
Captain Marvel
Scarlet Witch
Elektra
Quake
Hela
Medusa

With Storm and maybe Jean being x-men dlc.

for Marvel ladies, I want Scarlet Witch, Magik, X-23, and Psylocke at least.

This tralier was pretty badass. So with the confirmations in this video, the playable characters are

Marvel
Captain America
Iron Man
Hulk
Thor
Hawkeye
Captain Marvel
Rocket
Ultron

Capcom
Ryu
Chun Li
Morrigan
Mega Man X
Strider Hiryu
Chris Redfield
Sigma(DLC)

So far that's actually a lot of carry over from UMVC3. Makes me wonder if despite rolling back to 2v2, this roster will be larger than UMVC3 thanks to just cutting and pasting characters.'

Also really surprised with the September release date. Was expecting in Nov/Dec.

September!! much sooner than I expected!!

Dang, thats alot of info. Didnt expect to see so many characters confirmed at once

I liked it. Only wish they would have given Chris a different design. I hate RE5 Gorilla Redfield.

So I see there are also 6 Premium costumes. Do you guys think this will be like UMVC3 where we got the Scarlet Spider costume for Spider-Man and the Super Solider for Cap or will they take a page from Netherrealm who are giving Captain Cold A Mr. Freeze alt with new voice over and basically counts as a different character.
