What If Marvel's What If...? - General Discussion

Good to know. I demand a retraction from Variety lol. :oldrazz:

will this be tied into the multi-verse story line?
will this tie into the mcu we know and love?

will each episode be part of the same universe and we see a team-up at the end of the series?

IIRC there is a shot between Captain Carter and Doctor Strange in the trailers. I doubt they will share an episode, so I really think we have an actual story progression. I didnt expected that.

While I don't think I'll be watching this when it comes out (unless the reviews are spectacular) I am curious to see if this has any lasting effects on the MCU going forward. I somehow doubt it, but maybe we'll see Uatu the Watcher in live action voiced by Jeffrey Wright?

I will wait and see what the reviews are before I watch it. My animation these days are Rick and Morty and Invincible, although I will catch Bob's Burgers and The Great North from time to time.

Invincible is on my list to watch. Gotta get to it soon on one of my days off.

I wasn't looking forward to this, but now that Loki has shown the way, I'm hyped about where this could be going.

What If..? Connects to the MCU, Tom Hiddleston Confirms

Tom Hiddleston confirmed Marvel's What If...? will connect to future events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Loki actor described the show's premise during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, stating, "It's like, 'What if Loki wasn't adopted?' 'What if Peggy Carter was the one who got the [Super-Soldier] Serum?' 'What if the Ravagers kidnapped T'Challa instead of Peter Quill?' It's what if some major event in [MCU] history had gone the other way and what reality would we be living in now?"

"I am intrigued because I haven't seen the whole thing," Hiddleston admitted. He went on to mention that many of the MCU's actors will voice the animated versions of their characters on What If...?. "And then it sets up a whole bunch of stuff in the MCU, which I know nothing about," he coyly added.

I'm sort of getting this vague feeling that there could eventually be an Exiles show that follows from this with multiverse versions of the characters teaming up.

As of right now, my belief that the only connectivity this show will have to the live action MCU is to get Uatu the Watcher to appear, voiced by Jeffrey Wright in live action as well. I have doubts that super soldier Peggy Carter will show up in the live action MCU, but if she does, I hope Captain Carter (as she's called in the show) would be a regular in the live action MCU.

Maybe we will finally get some quality cartoons again like Spectaculare Spider-Man? Marvel needs to improve in this area a lot.

I hope future projects show better animation than this one currently is showcasing

I wouldn't mind seeing the animation part of Marvel Studios be it's own shared universe.

It is a mini studio. It is not going to be making full on series.

I'm hoping that it'll be better than what we've recently had, but I feel like noting that Marvel technically had an animated studio and then they closed it down. The Black Panther's Quest show recently run by Geoffrey Thorne was actually pretty good - probably the first really good Marvel cartoon since Earth's Mightiest Heroes went off the air.

Really? I'll have to check it out then, since I basically checked out of Marvel Animation since EMH got cancelled.

I guess its gonna be some what if scenario of that comic, dealing what Fury was doing while Thor/IM2/TIH were going on in the background.

Spoiler for information leaked from merchandise.
I wonder if the "Guardians of the Multiverse" will ever be rebranded to "Exiles" after the mutants and particularly Blink are introduced. Since it's basically the same concept and a version of what seems to be one of the most prominent characters here (Peggy as Cap) is also a member of the current comic Exiles.
