What If Marvel's What If...? - General Discussion

So who do we know is not coming back to do voiceovers? By my count:

-RDJ (probable reason: Money/retired)
-Evans (Needs a break)
-ScarJo (Contract Issues)
-Bautista (Says he was not asked, prob small role)
-Zoe Saldana (No idea, her character features)
-Pratt (Tchalla took his role)
-Letitia Wright (Unknown/no role)
-Lupita Nyongo (See above)

and then on the plus side we get Bradley Whitford, whos never been in the MCU before
Any others??

He was in the Agent Carter one shot, which is still canon as far as I'm aware since it was produced by Marvel Studios.

And we saw Shuri in one of the new promos, though she did not sound like Letitia Wright.

Ah right
Its been so long since I saw any of the one shots
Forgot he appeared there

I was a little on the fence about the stylistic choice they went for this show, as I wasn't sure if the animation was going to be clunky or not. But seeing this full scene, the animation for it actually seems good. Can't wait for next week.

I think someone else, who's seen the first 3 episodes, also said that the animation works really well in action scenes and based on that clip, I agree. It's like the opposite of the current DC animation style, which works in some static scenes but blows in action scenes.

It seems this all comes down to money at the end of the day.

If they got Downey or Evans they'd have to pay them top dollar just because of their contracts in which they get top percentage . You can thank Downey who foresaw the money potential, and he personally advised Chris Evans when he took the role in Captain America: The First Avenger. Evans was paid a substantial amount and his salary growth increases with every appearance.

As for the others I'd say it's a mixture between scheduling and availability, as well as money.

Tom Holland is simple Sony wouldn't allow it.

Which is interesting cuz since this is a TV show, wouldn't that be outside of their control anyway?

since Disney Plus is a streaming service, it wasn't an option for the contract when Tom Holland went through negotiations for Civil War, Homecoming, and Far From Home

Unless Tom's contract states he can't play Spider-Man outside a Sony production, I don't see why that matters.

Huh that's interesting. I wonder what episode was they had to move to the 2nd season.

Edit- Based on everything we're seeing in the trailers, I'm guessing its the episode of Stark getting stuck on Sakaar. We haven't seen any footage of that episode and I know there were Lego leaks awhile back with Tony in a makeshift Sakaar suit.
Judging from the cast list, some of the Sakaar crew is back since Goldblum, Taika, and even Rachel House are involved. But that could just mean that they're in the Party Thor episode. Still, if there's an episode with Tony on Sakaar I'd rather see it with RDJ instead of another voice actor, even though it's probably not in the cards.

What's the first episode about? Do we have a description or listing yet?

It looks like Captain Carter is going to be the leader of the multiverse heroes similar to how Captain America (Steve Rogers) lead The Avengers.

Buzzing for this, just as one great show ends (Bad Batch) another potential great one begins! :mrk::mrk:

Cant wait for Captain Carter as well, going to smash it. :cap:

Too dark? How? I remember the 90s animated series having an episode where Peter turns into a spider. I think even the X-Men came out during that story arc. So I call BS on that. Bunch of prudes
