Mass Effect 2

I guess Im the only one that didnt like Overlord. I think a big part of it was the beginning part bc like Bentsamania, the driving felt tedious and I wasnt interested in it

Oh I agree, Overlord is GOOD DLC... I just hated the Hammer Head parts... I just don't like driving around in ME. I hated it a bit less in 2... but still.

The ending of it is pretty emotional... but the entire time I was playing it I kept thinking "Lawnmower Man" lol.
same with Shadow Broker. a flying car chase through Illum is a great idea, but the thing controlled like crap. took any fun away from that segment.

I thought the car chase controlled fine for what it was.

The car chase was great! I kept losing Tela Vasir just so I could restart it. I hope vehicular sections are more like that in ME3. No one likes tough vehicle levels, just make them easy, fairly tight and fun.

Kinda weird, the Arrival will essentially be the end of Mass Effect 2. I mean, its the last planned DLC, isn't it? Its the segway to ME3. Just a kind of odd thing to think about.

We'll, it's the last story DLC. I'm sure they'll release another costume pack or two before ME3.

Oddly enough I actually enjoyed the car chase through Illum. It was quick enough to where I didn't really notice any issues... that and it felt very 5th Element. :p

Yeah, I think Bioware did a really great job designing the car chase because it's so brief and they didn't make too difficult. Set pieces like that can be extremely frustrating if they're too hard or they'll become tedious and wear out their welcome if they're too long. Bioware hit the sweet spot I think. Not just with that section, but with the whole of "Shadow Broker".

Bioware really came through with their promise of releasing episodic content post-release this time around, it makes me wonder what kind of stuff we're going to see for ME3, and if they'll do anything set after the main conflict.

I'm currently deciding which level 4 Warp Ammo I should get for Jack. Is it better to have it upgraded to deal against barrier, or make it so everyone in the squad can use it? I'm leaning toward the latter, but it is also because I probably won't pick Warp Ammo for Shepard as his Loyalty power.

I read its always best to go with Squad ammo and share the wealth. Going with heavy for one person only benefits that one person.

I playing Insanitywith a sentinel and man Tech Armor has saved my butt on many occasions. I picked Armor Piercing ammo as my bonus power even if it isnt all that spectacular

I just started the suicide mission. So far no deaths. Here goes nothing. :word:

Edit: Ok, I did everything I could. All the Normandy upgrades and everyone was loyal. Mordin still died. :csad: What did I do wrong? Is it always random?

Edit 2: Dang math averages. :argh:

About your Mordin issue...

Did you have him take the Normandy crew back to the ship? That's the ONLY thing he can do without getting it. Seriously, he can't do anything against the collector hord

No, I sent Grunt back and then took Garrus with me to the finale fight.

I redid the mission. I sent Tali back to the ship and left both Grunt and Garrus to defend the wall. Everyone lived that time. :woot: I wasn't about to let all that hard work go to waste and have someone die on me.

I'm trying to do all the loyalty missions before I do the Collector IFF mission. Only 3 more to go...

thats not true. I had Jacob take the crew back and Mordin stayed for the final battle with the squad and he lived. The Squirel, what did your Mordin do and who did you take with ou to face the final boss?

Mordin doesn't automatically die if you don't send him back with the crew, but his chances are higher than anyone else because his 'hold the line' score is the lowest of everyone, especially if you sent Grunt back to the ship and have Garrus in your final squad. Those two (and I think Zaeed, if you have him) are pretty critical to everyone surviving that section.

Yeah, you need 2/3 of the heavy hitters for everyone to survive that section present.

If Mordin stays with you or goes back to the ship, he'll be fine. I had Kasumi escort people back to the ship and brought Tali and Mordin with me to the final battle.

That said, I had Jacob and Jack die. Jack, I admittedly let die because she annoyed me (I let Miranda make the biotic shield and brought Grunt as the third member of the party as Jack was not loyal due to me siding with Miranda so I figured she would die. I was correct, she was devoured by the Collector bugs). Jacob on the other hand went through the vents. He described it as a suicide mission and volunteered so I said, what the hell? I was considering Tali but it was described as a suicide mission and I would much rather see Tali live for ME3 than Kaiden 2.0.

I could have loaded a file and saved everyone, but that takes the fun out of it. I want to see the effects and consequences of Jack and Jacob's death on ME3. In the future, however, I will start a new file where everyone lives and one where everyone dies but Shepard and two others (its my understanding that two crew members must live for Shepard to live).

When it's time for me to do the suicide mission, I'm going to try to ensure that everybody lives; I want to see all the characters back in ME3. Hopefully Liara and Ashley will return as well.

Do we know when the last DLC is being released?
