Mass Effect 2

All the DLC has only been about an hour or so, I heard an hour and a half... which is ok for me... more so at 5 bucks.

I only bought the Firepower pack and I'd recommend it, the assault rifle is a beast. The shotgun and pistol are pretty damn good too. Didn't really care for the other weapon/costume packs, I got the armor when they were all accidentally on the marketplace and they're not that great.

I brought the Firepower pack which is recommended since it has (arguably) the best assault rifle and shotgun in the game. I also brought Aegis pack because it has an armor that contains pieces that I can incorporate on my soldier Shepard. Equalizer pack is better for biotic/tech so I didn't purchase it.

I think Shadowbroker took me like 3 1/2 hours my first time through to see and do everything.

I think Overlord took me 1 hr 1/2 so that's not so bad, it all depends on how Bioware uses that time really.

Is it really only an hour?

Yeah I beat it in just under an hour, knocking out all 3 achievements. :csad:

Awesome. I wish I waited until the Firepower pack was released before I did my insanity run that would have made it a lot easier lol.

Does anyone know if this has been released in Australia for PS3 yet? Arrival that is.

I just finished it. It took me an hour and 10-15 minutes to complete it. I believe I read somewhere that there were supposed to be five missions in Arrival, but by my count there were only three. I guess Bioware counts talking to the Admiral as a "mission". Oh well.

Overall I thought it was very good, not nearly as awesome as Shadow Broker, but still good. I really liked how the whole situation was kind of a reversal of [BLACKOUT]Bring Down The Sky.[/BLACKOUT] My favorite part was when you [BLACKOUT]take control of a mech.[/BLACKOUT] I don't know why, but I always enjoy stuff like that. I'll be very interested to see what happens [BLACKOUT]at Shepard's trial[/BLACKOUT] on Earth in ME3, especially since [BLACKOUT]I didn't warn the Batarians.[/BLACKOUT] Also, [BLACKOUT]Shepard being left unconscious for two days[/BLACKOUT] in such close proximity to that [BLACKOUT]Reaper device[/BLACKOUT] can't be good.

I guess I should also mention I don't know if the music was made up of leftovers from Jack Wall or if the new guy did it, but i liked it a lot. I hope some day day after ME3 they release a full Mass Effect soundtrack.

Arrival was good. Not great, but good. Hackett's face is weird - it looks like they took Zaeed's, then altered the shape and scar a little, then added some wrinkles and facial hair. And while I liked Overlord's solo-Shepard bit, I don't know if an entire mission solo was as fun. It makes sense, but a shadow team a la Virmire would have made just as much. Null point, though.

All the ME2 DLC has been worth it, and this one continues that trend.

Did anyone else think you'd have to fly a shuttle to the normandy? lol when it turned out you just have to call Joker I was really sad hahah, that would have made it just as good as Shadow Broker to me.

Virmire was a military operation though. Even though Shepard and his crew were a "shadow team" they were still going to run into a lot of resistance. Shep's original mission in Arrival was supposed to be a quick get in, rescue whatshername, and get out kind of deal, but neither Shepard nor the Admiral could have foreseen what was going to happen.

No, I didn't really think about that. Would've been a cool idea though.

Took me about two hours. It was fun. The confrontation between Shepard and [blackout]Soveirgn[/blackout] was the high point. It really sets the mood for ME3. Almost gives an Empire Strikes Back vibe. We know that the Reapers are coming. Humanity has more or less turned their backs on Shepard. The Council has disavowed him and if you destroyed the Collector base the Illusive Man is none too pleased either. The cards are stacked against the Commander. Really sets the stage well.

Oh, I know. That's why I'm saying the solo mission made sense, but so too would a shadow team. Shepard isn't a single operative to begin with - he/she is military, regardless of original background.

I think a big part of it was because they wouldn't be able to get the AI to not shoot at the enemies lol, and either way it felt badass going in solo.

Yeah, definitely. It would have required a slight change, there.

Did anyone else see that room with the [BLACKOUT]bloody handprints, a reaper painted in blood, and a body bag with the "3" from the ME3 title on it[/BLACKOUT]? I wonder if that has any significance? You know, other than the obvious, "Yo, reapers are going to kill a bunch of people in Mass Effect 3".

I bought it last night and got the mission from the Admiral. I wont try it till the weekend when I have more time

When I got the renegade interrupt when confronting Kenson, I pulled the trigger almost immediatly and shot the *****. Anyone go through the entire scene? What happens?

:funny: I had a brain fart.

I used the interrupt too but my guess is the same thing.

[blackout]She presses the button, kills herself, Shepard is knocked out, wakes up with 30 minutes to go.[/blackout]

So if you guys can pick either Overlord or Arrival DLC to purchase, which one would you buy? Both cost 560 MS and I don't want to buy both right now.
