Mass Effect 3 - - - - - Part 14

I thought DA3 was going next-gen, too?

Anyway, so is the consensus that this DLC is worthy of the price tag? My sister was saying almost everything in the trailer happens within the first hour of the DLC. I dunno if that's good or bad lol.
Yes it is, I just emphasised the Mass Effects as we're in the ME thread :woot:

I'm actually pretty excited about the engine change over to Frostbite for both games.

Can someone tell me when the Leviathan, Omega and Citadel DLC should be played during the story?

Do Omega any time after the Coup. You need to speak to Aria once for it to unlock. Leviathan fits best after the Geth/Quarian war and before Thessia.

Citadel's a bit more tricky since for a ME2 character to show up you need to have done all of their main game content. If you want Miranda to appear (at least in the main quest portion of the DLC) you need to do it after Horizon, obviously before attacking the Cerberus base. If you're not specifically aiming for Miranda to be present then I'd slot it before Thessia after you've done all of the other ME2 character side quests and talked to them - Miranda will show up in the new Hub area even if she wasn't present for the earlier portion.

Will Miranda still show up if you haven't done her personal quest? How does that work?

For instance, in my playthrough I want to
let Miranda die.
But to do that, I have to ignore her initial request for help IIRC. Any idea how she slots into the Citadel DLC in that case? Will she still show up if I deny her request? Or do you have to
do her personal quest and keep her alive during it
in order to have her show up?

Because that would friggin suck.

You're going to need to keep her alive but I've been told Miranda has a pretty substantial amount of content in Citadel.

GAHHHHHHHH that friggin sucks!! Oh well. I guess having substantial content for her kinda negates the point of letting her die anyway.

I YouTubed some of the others that I wouldn't see in my playthrough. Jack has some particularly awesome scenes. Same for Garrus.

Tali's is hilariously bad IMO.

I've already got enough quality Tali bits anyway so that won't ruin my day. I'm really moreso happy to see the ME2 characters back anyway.

I'm definitely going to have to youtube all the bits that I don't get to see. Can't believe I never saw that Wrex thing. :csad:

I've done quite a bit of Citadel, very awesome. Definitely a great big piece of fan service. The first level might be my favorite Mass Effect stage ever.

Just so people know, you can do the Main Quest for the DLC whenever you feel like it, that plays out like a standard DLC with the main squad [blackout] plus Wrex [/blackout]. The rest of the DLC (which is a whole lot of it) is where the all the character interactions happen.

So you should wait until Horizon is done to start the party and all the character interactions but the main content is totally okay to do prior to that (whenever you feel is best).

That's good to know. I hope I don't miss any of the interactions because I hear a lot of people saying they didnt see this or that.

The DLC sounds great though.

So best to use a late save so that you've met as many of the characters as possible?

I was going to play last night but started downloading it & kept jumping into games stopping the download from completing. Looking forward to doing it this weekend though.

Are any of the DLC weapons actually any good? I've got some points to waste.

The Groundside pack has good weapons.

Like I said for the main quest feel free to do it when you feel comfortable. Obviously when you've got as much of your main squad as possible for maximum banter. I do definitely think it fits in that spot after the Geth/Quarian war and before Thessia since there is lull in the urgency of the plot and the primary plot of Citadel's with all of its humor and light hearted fun fits there best I think.

If you want Miranda then definitely wait till after Horizon to start the party but if not do it when you want.

Just saw this. I'm surprised Mass Effect never had an exclusive Armor deal that included Spartan Armor.

Ok thanks, will give it a try tonight.

Not bad! I wouldn't mind having that available on Halo 4 as well.

As I said a few pages back i'm surprised they didn't do that with any of the crisis armors ether. seeing they work for the same publisher and all. and I agree with iceman

After some thought I think the best way to describe the DLC is Die Hard meets Mass Effect.

[Blackout] Wrex [/Blackout] is an incredible bad ash in this DLC. Absolutely a powerhouse.

I think my favorite bit so far was when [blackout] Shepard had a little melt down over the clone's mispronunciation of "I should go"[/blackout]

I'm going to head cannon that the DLC takes place a couple years after the ending. Hopefully there's not alot of talk about the war to ruin that

There's enough that you'd have to ignore a couple of lines or moments. Its not a huge focus or anything buts it mentioned.

I started messing with the Armax arena, its essentially a much, MUCH better Pinnacle Station. Its also where you get to use your ME2 squadmates in combat.

EDIT: Well done with the DLC. This thing is HUGE I'd say easily 6-8 hours depending on how thorough you are with the interactions and then 10 hours if you go down the casino/arcade/combat arena hole. There is really no padding in that run-time, the amount of content that is constantly coming your way is a bit staggering. This was an amazing piece of content. I'd say it beats out Shadowbroker simply because this is just on a whole other scale.

I definitely think the group activities (which in my opinion should be done before the party) and the party itself fit really well just before the Cerberus assault if you roleplay it as a day or 2 of downtime as the Crucible is finished and the fleets are assembled during which Shepard decides to get the group together one last time. So many characters being on the Citadel fit the notion of the force being put together quite well.

Possible 10 hours of gameplay sounds amazing. Does the DLC make up for the incredible linear final assault, and the fact that you don't get to interact with former party members outside of Holo terminals?

Does not change this, but the combat portion of the DLC is pretty cool, and has the feeling of the suicide mission where your entire squad is fighting alongside you rather than leaving you off by yourself.
Also, [blackout]Wrex returns as a squadmate.[/blackout] And his entrance was :awesome:

and the fact that you don't get to interact with former party members outside of Holo terminals?

YES. This is the most character-centric DLC they've done. 3/4 of it is just giving this crew the best sendoff possible. No one feels neglected, put in the background, or under-utilized. It's a very nice especially if you had a ME2 love interest, as they get their own unique time here.

Mostly the DLC is just about sending your guys on one last adventure and being as entertaining as possible. It's really enjoyable, irreverent, and a breath of fresh air from the doom and gloom of the single player. Very replayable and definitely the sendoff this series deserves.

And that last scene...:waa:

For those who have played, when you meet up with your first squadmate after the [BLACKOUT]CAT6 attack, is it your LI that arrives first? I thought it was just Liara and Wrex (I romanced Miranda), but I was watching another walkthrough and Kaidan shows up first. That's pretty cool if true.[/BLACKOUT]
