Well that answers that question.

To everyone with a problem with this decision, I would say you have about a week of complaining before everyone else is entirely justified in telling you to 'get over it, because it's happening!' :P

Fight alongside your friends is vague, it could easily be referring to team deathmatch or something to that effect.

Anyway, they've said the campaign is as long as ME2's, they're adding to the RPG features not taking away, I'm not overly worried about this affecting the quality of the core game itself.

Every Krogan in my party thats not Wrex just makes me wwish he was in my party that much more.

Very interested to see where this multiplayer aspect is going to go...

I can't imagine co-op being part of the campaign. I would imagine that everyone would want to play as their Shepard character and not just accompany their friend and watch him be the badass hero of the story.

I'm a bit skeptical about the multiplayer, but that doesn't mean I'll exclude it out entirely. I just need to see some gameplay footage first.

For me it's a reason to subscribe to LIVE again.

is LIVE that much better than the free PSN?

I find Live has a much, much better platform for socialising, much easier to form a big group convo with friends from the moment you boot up, and check friends profiles etc.

It's just that I have the first 2 already for the Xbox. So I'll continue playing the game there.

ah....I see.

how about in terms of "lag" or connection quality. Is LIVE better than PSN in that regard? or is there really no difference?

in my case, I hardly go online to play. heck, there are long periods where I go without playing any games at all. I'm not really looking to socialize or chat. just play some quick matches online, mainly as a diversion from the single player gameplay.

so, I'm not sure if it's worth it for me to spend $ on the LIVE subscriptions.....

Well, I don't have a nasty habit like smoking or drinking. So I can occasionally spend some dollars a month for the LIVE service.

I don't think the connection quality mattes with either service, I think that depends entirely on your internet connection itself.

For you i dont think it is man. Most of my friends are on live and now that they've graduated and started moving to diff parts of the country, its mainly how we stay connected. So i feel that 60 a yr is worth it. However flip that, and say it was PSn that was that price, i couldn't justify it as i dont have many friends on that service nor do i use its only capabilities all that often. I get 60 bux a yr and then some out of Live, which is why iv kept my subscription.

so, I guess it's more to do with which service most of your friends are on, and thus which service will let you stay in touch with those friends.

A standalone co-op mode...seems promising. Still would like to learn more about it though.

I didn't see how co-op in the main story would work, I don't want to watch my friend's shepard talk while I pick my nose.
