Mass Effect 3 - Part 4

The demo was pretty good. ME combat is still not the best thing, and unfortunately that's the majority of the demo. Also all the facial animations are pretty bad. But the universe and the story still seem fantastic.

The Kinect stuff works, but I don't know how much I'll use it. I'll probably use the Quick Save function and maybe some squad commands (though I don't think I'm man enough to bark orders out load at my TV, just yet), but saying "open" to open a door instead of just hitting the A button seems extremely silly to me.

I'm guessing the Origin servers being not available is the reason none of the demo unlocks unlocked, right? I will probably play through it again in a few days.

So, I downloaded the Kingdoms of Amalur demo on my 360, and played it and...didn't get any type of notice that I got the extra DLC for ME3. Was the DLC removed for Silver members?

someone sent me a free demo code, so I'm downloading it now.

just curious for those who have played the demo, can you create your own Shep ( including FemShep ) and pick your class? or are you stuck with the default Soldier Male Shep?

also, is the facecode system from ME2 still in place? will ME2 facecodes still work?

and, can you put points into the various abilities to try them out?

thanks.

You can create your own Shep, I don't know what facecode is (is that for PC?) and after the first segment in the demo, you get 23 free points to put into a variety of abilites.

Demo was fun, the scope of the game is 10x what ME2 was...the end segment batting that giant robot with tons of cerberus troops around you was nerve-wracking. The battle AI is much more improved, they actually try and flank you.

All in all I enjoyed it.

the facecode system was used in the console versions of ME2, not just the PC.

In the character creator in ME2, there's a line at the bottom that contains a series of letters and numbers. the code changes as you make changes to your Shep.

people post completed codes online and you can just input that code to quickly generate a custom-made Shep.

it was a real handy feature in ME2, imo. so I'm hoping it's back in ME3.

Yeah, there is still a code at the bottom of the creation screen.

Playing through the demo as not-my female Shepard was a bit disconcerting, I'll be happy when I import the real one next month.

Stupid ass Facebook game!! I got locked out. If anyone has an extra code and feels like sharing, I'd be grateful for a PM. Otherwise I guess I'll just wait. Pfffft.

Damn the combat has been improved alot. I'm very impressed, but I feel as if their is less control over the dialogue this time around.

The symbols don't light up for me or anything. If anyone has an extra code, can I please have it?

I tried matching the symbols like someone said to do & it still failed. This is ********. I give up

if you're trying to snag an extra code, and you're a member of the Bioware Social forums, there's a thread there where people are posting extra codes if they manage to get one.

if you're quick enough ( and I mean really quick ), you may be able to PM another poster and snag a code. that's how I got mine earlier today.

here's the thread:

How do you match the symbols up? It's pretty ******ed that they don't even give you a hint.

Hell, I don't even want the demo (I want to leave all the single player stuff a secret until I play the game). I just want the Avatar stuff.

i dont know wtf is going on. i have one attempt left.

Nope. I'm not on that site at all. and as I said it's my catch phrase from when I was a mod at Mutatis Mutandis site and doing the news and previews and doing other info on that site that charley X runs or ran.it'snothing morethen a catch phrase. I'm not ordering any one or anything like that. it's just how I end my posts when I put up news .

I think it's random for everyone. Someone did it by pressing them in the order the app shows, someone else selected them in the opposite order. I clicked on the top left, bottom left, bottom right and then top right and it said I won. It then loaded for a while and took me to the start of the app. I was kinda worried, but it has a "My Codes" or something like that and it listed a code for the Normandy avatar item and another code for the demo.

the cutscene after the first tutorial mission right before the title is pretty powerful

Yeah... Also, Mark Meers seems to be doing a hell of a good job with the voice acting this time around. As great as Jennifer Hale is, I am just so used to hearing his voice as Shepard and he was fantastic in that first level.
