Mass Effect 3

 At least that's one thing about the ending they didn't f**k up. While it wasn't M4 Part I, I was really happy they got a Faunts track for the credits.

That song was done by the Faunts? Nice. Didn't even realize.

Damn, it'd be fitting if only the ending wasn't...you know. But, that's pretty cool that they got them back to do the credits. It does sort of remind me of M4 Part 1.

What have they done to Jacob in this game? The guy is so skinny compared to how he was in ME2. His body is out of proportion. Seriously, his waist is so small yet they kept his big head. Its weird

playing my 2nd play through as a renegade,
during the genophage part. I couldnt help but regret and feel bad for shooting mordin and he died. Wow. Powerful scene.

His waist was super small in ME2 too, I remember specifically being bothered by it whenever I saw him.

Soldiers of the Milky Way –

It is my honor to announce that Operation Goliath was an overwhelming success. By targeting the brutes of the Reaper forces, we dealt them a blow from which they will not soon recover. As I’m sure you’re aware, a brute is made out of the parts of turians and krogan, somehow melded into one. For them to replace those troops, they’re going to have to capture turians and krogan together and alive—and you can ask your turian and krogan friends just how rarely that’s going to happen from now on.

Over a three-day period, you downed a staggering number of brutes, and countless husks and other Reaper creatures in the process. As it is, the Reapers have been pushed back in key positions as they try to make up for the holes you left in their army.

I am confident that word of this operation will get out and that it will give people hope. The stories I am hearing continue to amaze me. They are stories of soldiers braving fire to pull a fallen comrade to safety; they are stories of biotics charging enemies ten times their weight to buy their friends a critical second; they are stories of engineers with their fingers shot off, hacking mainframes with the stumps because their teammates needed them. Thousands of strike teams ran successful sorties against particularly deadly Reaper occupations – those squads will be recognized with a special commendation.

This brotherhood knows no race or species. It is a bond you are forging together, knowing that when the time came, you heard the call, and you answered it with all the skill and passion you could muster. That much… you can say to anyone.

Hahah, over 3 million brutes were killed. :D

Speaking of the scanning system, even though I appreciated the effort Bioware went through to make scanning/exploring a bit more exciting by adding a Reaper threat, I also found it incredibly annoying and it kinda ruined part of the game I'd previously found really awesome.

I might be in the minority, but I thought it was really cool going to different systems and reading up on some of the planets Bioware came up with and the backstories behind them. The Reapers trying to catch you just made that exploration process way more annoying than any "planet scanning" from ME2.

Also, the Reaper threat itself was almost pointless, because once they lock onto you and catch you all you have to do is exit the system and re-enter it as many times as necessary to get all your scanned items. It's more annoying than really threatening, IMO.

I read all the planet descriptions before I started scanning.

I think everything they did with space travel and scanning was a big downgrade from ME2. Systems have maybe 2 things that you can find, and finding them is as straightforward as it could be, and the majority of them just make your readiness number go up or it's fuel that I usually don't need. It's just not fun, and the Reaper stuff just turns not fun into annoying.

I didnt really notice in that game but its very apparent here. Its very unnatural looking. Not just his waist, but he has alot less muscle mass. He was pretty built in 2, but very thin like he could use a burger and some time in the gym in this one

Damn I just realized that for the defender trophy I'm gonna have to play more multiplayer than I wanted to

I used to read the planet descriptions in the first Mass Effect, because when you zoom in on a planet you could see it from a much closer angular perspective that actually felt like observing from a space station/satellite rather the static rotating ball view you get in Mass Effect 2. It's an insignificant change to many people, but it is what made the planet scanning in Mass Effect 2 all the more tedious for me.

Im replaying ME2 now and his build is just, 'off'. I didn't notice it being any different in ME3.

I watched that on Youtube out of curiosity.

NExt time I think I'll argue with Mordin a bit but ultimately allow him to cure the Genophage. Just because him admitting that he was wrong and talking about how looking at the big picture blinds from the thousands of little pictures actually makes his arc from ME2 to ME3 all the more complete. It's a great conversation.

I kinda wish I could hurry up and beat ME3 because the urge to click on all these spoiler tags is getting strong.

Watched the video where you save Mordin and hoodwink the Krogan... and kind of wish I'd of offed Wrex once upon a time in ME1, because it's certainly the approach my Shep would have taken, given the opportunity.

I heard you can convince him to fake his death and secretly go work on the Crucible if you had killed Wrex in Mass Effect 1. If Wrex is alive, you won't be able to fool the krogans and if you do sabotage the cure, later on you will have to execute Wrex as well. I know that Renegades are supposed to be more aggressive and results-oriented but I didn't think you'd have to steep so low and kill two of your comrades in cold blood just to get the salarians on your side. The levels of *****ebaggery you have to indulge in to be pure renegade is enough to choke a whale here. :cmad:

So yeah, I'm really not looking forward to my renegade playthrough.

I'm way behind you guys, so have been avoiding the thread out of fear of an accidental spoiler. I'm loving it so far though. The way previous game choices are having decent impacts, and current choices have real galactic consequences. Bioware did the usual good job of making sure to hit the fine details. Plus...can't remember if 2 did this, but headshots are sooo gratifying. I finally saved up enough for the Widow, and it's non stop head explosions :).

Over the weekend I had a mini marathon
3 deaths in 2 days :(. Mordin, and Thane were moving. Legion...mixed. Like hell I was handing the Geth, who of free will joined the Reapers for self preservation, the tech to kill the Quarians (doesn't hurt my Sheperds got a thing for Tali). Still felt bad clicking "kill Geth" though...until the bastard chocked me, lol.

Also tried a little multi player. Don't plan to go too deep until I finish the single, but it felt solid. Was also relieved to see it be co-op centered. I get so tired of death match shooters sometimes.

Just bought my copy on Amazon! :awesome:

Well if you killed Wrex in ME1 when he turned on you then you can get away with fooling the Krogan here.

I can't wait until we can move away from people whining about the ending.
