I can't wait until we can move away from people whining about the ending.

Anyone see this thread on BSN? I thought it was a pretty interesting read:
http://social.bioware.com/forum/Mas...-31912-334-PM-UTCGMT--4-hours-10084349-1.html

There's some insights in there from a dude who used to work in PR apparently and he's been pretty spot on in his various assessments of the situation. Pretty cool.

Yea, never underestimate nerd rage. I mean its not like they have anything else to do.

That'll happen once the people whining about the ending stop whining. Once that happens the people whining about the people whining will have nothing to whine about.

You make me lol, dude. You seem to have a big hate-on for "nerds" yet you have 17k posts on an internet forum devoted to nerds.

You know, people should be allowed to voice their opinions without being called "nerds", "whiners", "haters", or whatever.

After all....

That guy just never learns. :(

Huh.

Well that certainly gives quite a bit of weight to the [BLACKOUT]indoctrination theory[/BLACKOUT]. Either that or [BLACKOUT]poor writing[/BLACKOUT] but I'm enamored with Bioware's works, so I'm inclined to believe the former over the latter.

I don't agree with some of their statements and have, what I believe to be, logical counters to them, but for the vast majority I find myself without a counter.

Then remove the word nerd. Feel better now?

I didn't say there was anything wrong with being a nerd/geek etc, but c'mon, this is nerd rage. You have nerds, raging. Nerd rage.

I don't think that's how it works. I'm pretty sure, as a people, we either agree to give up our freedoms to dictators, or retain them with the catch that we be labelled negatively for them.

Your idea sounds like idealistic nonsense.

Hey, I feel fine, bro. It's you who seems to be constantly bothered by all the nerds and their nerdy nerd rage nerdiness. :o

To be clear, I'm not picking a side in this nerd battle. :p

I am just obligated to post that whenever NERD appears.

LOL.

What is that from? It looks familiar.

*edit, i figured it out, hahaha.

Yea i just youtubed nerds and it was one of the first things to pop up. Iv actually never seen that film, just bits and pieces. Iv never seen that clip tho, f'ing hilarious.

Not if they are nerds, whining and hating.

The problem is that the "nerds" are just people and the "whining and hating" is just discourse. A discourse that you and others feel the need to interrupt with childish insults every chance you get because it involves opinions that you disagree with.

I generally cannot stand the Bioware board but that post was actually REALLY interesting.

That said, people ought to be careful what they wish for. That PR guy kept talking about how movements like this are changing the rules and making history....and they are. Have you ever seen a video game cause this kind of movement much less a company/developer acknowledge it and attempt to have a dialogue with the upset fans?

At the same time, like the PR said....this is all about dollars and cents and even the "hold the line," people are acknowledging that a new ending will cost money (and one even says how they will gladly shell out the few bucks). If this happens...video games will be changed forever. EVERY major game will have some kind of comparable DLC for the "real," ending. It is going to set a dangerous, bad precedent. History is being made, but history is not always pleasant.

I think them eventually turning on Jarrett Lee for being friendly and nice when that's the way he has always been and then squabbling amongst themselves is a sign of just why Bioware is not openly discussing anything at the moment.

But in fairness, they were right. Lee essentially said NOTHING in a very polite way. At first they were so desperate for just any direct contact with a Bioware staffer that they ate it up. Then someone pointed out that he was just spewing the company line (exactly as the PR guy predicted would happen) and they felt a bit played.
