Mass Effect 3

Amazon has done that before though. Iv returned opened Blu Rays for a full refund before.

That's not for you to decide.

Depends. Working in retail, iv turned a few people away who tried to return opened items. Sometimes id let them, most times i wouldn't. So in that case, it was up for me to decide.

so did we get a million brutes or what

No crap, Sherlock. (That really doesn't work without the alliteration, does it?)

But if I had a business, and some kid came to me complaining he didn't like the ending of a game/movie/book he finished and wanted a refund, I'dsay no after I finished laughing

Still seems pretty crazy to me.

Its not though. Amazon is just an awesome retailer. Iv never had a problem with that place before. Granted there was an instance where my package never arrived, so i contacted them and they told me they'd give me a full refund and if the package ever did show up, just to keep it. it showed up like a week later.

I'll be honest, I won't hold it against them that there aren't 100 different endings. And I really don't believe that most of the Mass Effect fans are either.

I think Pat hit it on the head. The plot holes are the worst part. I think that, for a franchise that has mapped out and clearly thought out and defined even the tiniest of details, the plot holes at the end are just so...glaring.

The plot holes are, indeed, the worst part. But, that being said, even though I loved the emotional impact the ending had on me, the logic behind the endgame is still completely stupid and makes little to no sense. Because of that, I find that in hindsight the emotional moments seem completely forced and contrived, as if they whipped up some crap deus ex machina character in the Catalyst and gave you some muddled reasoning behind the story in hopes that the emotional impact of the ending would be enough to make you oblivious as to how illogical the Catalyst actually is.

And, to be honest, it worked for a lot of people...myself included. But, it didn't last...as soon as I woke up the next day, I started thinking "...wait a minute..."

Also, I think I'm drifting into Matt's camp where I'm starting to think that Bioware didn't plan this thing whatsoever. If they had, I think they fully would've addressed it by now, and all the information from "Final Hours" pretty much shows they had no intention for a fake ending, unless that app is a fake troll in itself, which I highly doubt. Nah, I think they just f-ed the pooch.

That exact thing happened to me when i worked at Gamestop. I remember one instance with the game Rogue Warrior. Some dude came in to purchase the game and i told him out right the game was horrible, he'd be better off renting it. He didn't listen and bought it any way. He came back that same night asking if he could get his money back and i literally laughed. It wasn't too bad though since he bought the game for like 20 bux, but still.

Yea, we had that happen all the time when I was working at GS. Usually be moms asking about a game, me telling them it's terrible and suggesting a different one, and then my buddy telling me the person came in the next day to try and get their money back.

Yea most of the times id give the person a look that said "are you mental" before telling them, no, no they could not return an open and played game for a full refund. Damn i miss that. Id also have a problem with people buying then returning used games before the 7 day period was up. I got to the point where i started telling people they could only do that twice. I dont know if that was an actual company policy but i said it was.

I wonder how many games Amazon is going to get back.

I thought Gamestop had a 7 day return policy?

If it gets outrageous, i wouldn't doubt if they cut that off. Like i said, this is just amazon being amazon. But who knows, maybe I'm underestimating the level of their customer service.

How much of this does Amazon have to eat? 50%? 25%?

On unopened games I would guess 0%?

I think it is brilliant business. Next time that person buys a game, they'll probably buy from Amazon. Amazon on the other hand can turn it over used for 60 bucks and probably still bring in a profit.

No, I did as well, some others have come out and said as much too, we are not alone lol
