Ok, just a few favs up there ^^

How do you come up with such consistently amazing work?

I'm loving those cards by the way, they're right in line with my sense of humour. You've got me trying to think of some too now! hahaha

Oh, and Santa and Jesus arm wrestling....? GENIUS!!!

: o I noticed your sig on the one stone, but not the Mars ones! Awwww now I'm sad for Veronica all over again.

Sad, of course... I'm still morning the loss of VMars. BUT!!!!! I heard casting rumors that one Kristen Bell is being considered for a role on 'lost'... BEST THING EVER!

Ooh it's okay, it's cause when you mentioned Simon, I remembered the red hair.

*Mwahahaha* <--evil genius laugh. The stones are a nice touch, I like that there's always more to your art than it seems :D

Thanks as always. I did that as more a joke for myself, but Im glad there are others out there as obsessed with VMars as me.

^ That is one of your finest so far dude! great work

Thanks? I think you may have confused Le Diable Blanc's post of a professional pic of Simon as being my work. I will agree, however, that if I had done that picture, it would have been my finest work BY FAR! ;)

TURN AROUND!!

hahaha. that was kinda my concept: a guy looking as bada$$ as I could muster and about the get worked over.

Nah he's safe, the ghosts of Keith, Veronica and Matt are there to help ;)

poor K & VMars. :(

Great piece. Your coloring is always jaw dropping.

Thanks... I put a LOT of working to coloring this one, so I hope it shows.

Well, "consistently amazing" is quite the complement! Thanks for that. Very very nice to hear.

As for the nod to my cards, glad you like them. I have such a bizarrely specific sense of humor that generally involves much explanation, so I often feel like I find those cards WAAAAAAY funnier than anyone who receives them.

This years xmas card is gonna be one of two things (i may post a poll to see which seems funnier)

1) santa riding a unicorn, shirtless.
2) a santa paper doll, with different paper outfits with varying degrees of inappropriateness.

Love it. I think it´s my fav, just next to the slam dunk Jesus...

Here was in inspiration for my Leela pic...

Not completely happy with this, but I lost steam when I had to recreate the final from the scan of a printout, after I lost the file.

Anyway, I threw in some blood, and called it a day! ;)

Well, it's not very often that a ACTUALLY "lol", but i sure did with those new suggestions. It's gotta be the paper doll though. I just wana see santa in a geisha outfit, or maybe a PVC gimp mask and posing pouch hahaha

Thanks! I'm kinda obsessed with 'Futurama', so that pic was a blast to do (especially throwing the Slurm logo in the background). As for Slam Dunk Jesus... Well, he slammed for your sins.

The gimp mask idea is very near one of the directions I was thinking of going in... you may have sold me on that idea.

So, I'm taking a break from Photoshop after breaking my ace on that 'Castlevania' picture.

Thought I'd buy a new drawing pad, a fashion magazine and find something to draw.

Sidebar: When I was younger, I used to go to the store and buy 'Vogue' to get pictures of models to draw... As a closeted gay 16 or 17 year old, buying 'Vogue' was a sweat-inducing experience I alway envisioned ending in lighted torches and pitchforks. I was kinda laughing about that today, as I bought my first 'Vogue' since the late 90's.

Anyway, this has no relevance to superheroes AND I don't expect it to be particularly good since its the first real attempt at a realistic style I've done in a LONG time, but its what I'm working on, so here it is:

I'll keep you updated.

This actually looks really good so far. Remember, the most important thing with realistic drawing is the pencil outline. If that outline is perfect, then everything inbetween will fall into place.

The only thing I notice is that the face seems to be a bit skewed and the bottom half of it looks to be leaning to the left too much. The best way to eliminate this problem is to check out the pic in a mirror or turn it around and hold it up to the light. Looking at a pic in reverse will help you identify anything that doesn't look in proportion.

But the body (especialy the left forearm) and the shading look awesome! Can't wait to see more!

I agree with keith_v. the face seems off, but only if you look at it too long...btw, who is it a picture of?

I know what you about the face, but at this point I'm kinda locked in... I will try that mirror trick next time around though, cause there is plenty I'd change on this one if I had the patience.

Just some girl from a magazine ad.

So based on some replies (and my own two eyes) I realize the face is a bit out of wack.

Like I said, this is the first in this style in some time, so I'm not really intested in scrapping stuff to go back and fix things.

In other words, I can handle it if the end result is less than awesome, as I'll just chalk it up to a learning exercise. Onward and upward (and maybe I can course correct a bit when I add the hair).

Anyway, this is the update of the rest of tonight's work:

Edit: here's an animation of my progress.

Here's the final.

For my first more realistic thing in years, I'm happy enough with it. All the work I've done coloring pics in photoshop made the shading process with a pencil much faster, from what I remember.

Very nice! The only thing I would do is possibly increase the contrast on the dress. And just out of curiousity, are the dark areas on the pic darker in real life? Because in the small image you showed of the pic half done, the dark areas were jet black.

nice! it's hypnotizing! hehe

Thanks... thought it would be an interesting animation.

Thats really nice. Just curious... did you reference the original image as you went along or do the initial sketch from the image then work blind?

More the left side was referenced... the right side I altered from the orginal pic because she was obscured.

Very sweet.
Very different from your usual

Thanks.

I tired to match the contrasts from the picture... I know what you mean about that one progress pic, but i guess it was just how my scanner took the image.

Yeah, I've been seeing some cool drawing animations of late. (what program did you use?)

hey dude

been away for a while from the hype but i wanted to let you know that

[1] your castlevania entry to this month's contest rocked! you got my vote.

[2] that animation of your drawing is feckin fantastic! d'you mind telling us how you did it?

laterz

Amazing work. Nadino was right, your art is superb.

Came out great. I suppose it's nice to get away from the regular style from time to time. =)

Dude, i am not confusing anybody's art here, I can SEE the extra bit of effort in shading put into this one compaired to your other works. :whatever:
