And so it begins. :wow:

I do not understand the point of this post. I was explaining the confusion.

Well, though Cap and Tony will likely have an antagonistic relationship, the movie will be significantly different than the comics version of CW. So, why not wait and see how the story is developed, what the Russos and McFeeley/Markus say about the script….

Also, wasn't the Marvel editorial board on Tony's side, saying he was supposed to be seen as the "right" side, during the whole CW mess? Oh well. It'll be very different from the books, though, that's for sure. Per Feige's words.

Editorial may have been on his side, but none of the writers were. You need only look at his borderline cartoonishly fascist portrayal for proof of that. And I just flat-out never want to see it again in ANY form, I hated it that much.

My intense loathing for CW makes me not all that excited for Cap 3. As does the prospect that Tony's name will be dragged through the mud YET AGAIN (and on film this time) to boost Saint Cap's rep.

Yeah, because SMART writers can't make a SMART story, where the audience is put into a grey situation and feels for both sides, and has a hard time deciding what is right and wrong. Not like real world politics and war, these days.

NOTHING like that.

Everything's so "black and white", I guess.......

I remember post-civil war in the comics when every superhero kicked Iron Man's ass for a couple of months. It didn't seem like editorial was on his side then ;)

I just want to know if they are going to cast any Civil War reenactors in Cap 3.

So you are on the side of the alcoholic, egoistical maniac? No wonder you are a Loki fan. :o

Yeah, especially when Thor seriously tried to argue that Secret Invasion was ALL Tony's fault (shut up Thor).

I want to see the Thor/Iron Man scene come to life.

You can't say that the press conference is about Phase 3 when it showed footage from a Phase 2 movie and brought of the director of a Phase 2 film. I know that we're all in love with Marvel, but it wouldn't have hurt to MENTION Ant Man. The general audience is already pretty unsure of that film, so they will need a major push to rehabilitate the property in people's minds. Not mentioning it at all during your biggest press event didn't help. It's silly to pretend otherwise...

Well they showed that in a very poor manner.

Also it seems Feige understands how little regard people have for these major crossovers like Age of Ultron and Civil War. They are taking the titles only and assuring people of that.
Marvel editorial said both sides could be seen to have a valid viewpoint, not that both were "right" per se

I also believe Civil War the movie will be much closer to the comic than Age of Ultron is to its namesake

I think it will be a slow burn with Hulk. I wouldn't be surprised if Hulk/Banner is heavily featured in every film EXCEPT GotG2. That way they can develop him a ton as well as build up his brand so when the solo comes it will be quite the big deal. It would allow Banner/Hulk to develop some great relationships that are later put to the test by WWH. It just makes more sense to me than shooting him off into space and then returning with the Guardians. But if they do go that route I'll still be pleased

My head's spinning from all the day-dreaming I've been doing.

All the directors there were Phase 3 directors.

And AntMan HAS been announced, no need to go over it at this point. It's at the filming stage.

No, I was on the side of the guy who was arguing that potentially dangerous superpowered beings should have SOME level of training and that there be a way to hold them accountable if the screwed up, were negligent, went crazy, etc. I was NOT on the side of the idiot who somehow thought that dressing up in a costume and committing acts of illegal vigilantism somehow gave you a fundamental right to privacy and that you should be accountable to no one but yourself. Yeah, that's like me arguing that I have some fundamental right to privacy if I were to rob a bank and then use the money to help feed the poor/homeless. See how stupid that sounds.

The concept was explored years ago with Watchmen. Rorschach is still right.

For those wanting clarity on the Phase II/Ant-Man issue.

See,

There WERE arguments to be made for both sides

All the pointless Civil War bashing can end anytime now.....
It sold well as a comic, and now it's a movie.... haters can suck it!

Damn it, I wanted to get stuff done today but can't help constantly refreshing this page and speculating with all of you! Curse you Marvel!

...and that we should lock those people up in a prison in the ****ing Negative Zone without a trial.
