MCU: The Marvel Cinematic Universe Official Discussion - Part 2

Guardians looks pretty darn good, digital problems aside. But it isn't exactly 2001 or Skyfall. A film that looks "half" that quality, would be pretty flippin' choppy.

I wasn't meaning the digital filming or any of that technical stuff, I was talking about the scenery, visuals etc...

If they've proven anything, it's that they're good at spinning a lot of plates at once. Ant-man might not be getting a lot of the spotlight right now but I'm sure that will change soon.
Disney/Marvel will market the hell out of that film next year I imagine.

My intense loathing for CW makes me not all that excited for Cap 3. As does the prospect that Tony's name will be dragged through the mud YET AGAIN (and on film this time) to boost Saint Cap's rep.

Honestly, with Captain Marvel's placement in between the two Infinity War installments, it wouldn't surprise me if Mar-Vell was a significant part in Infinity War: Part 1 and most of Carol's origin story plays out in that film. That way the Captain Marvel film wouldn't technically be an origin story (if Marvel's "no more origins" mantra turns out to be true).

I think there's a reason they aren't calling the Avengers movies Infinity Gauntlet - there are going to be plenty of added elements to the MCU version (like the Guardians, Kree, Inhumans) that weren't significant in that story, imo.

Interesting. That's not a bad idea at all.

"Tony's name will be dragged through the mud YET AGAIN (and on film this time) to boost Saint Cap's rep."

Boo hoo, that's the price Stark will have to pay for stealing Hank Pym's best storyline.

Ant-Man is Phase 2. This was for phase 3. Why dont people get that ? They can always include Ant-Man characters in Infinity War if they become popular

Because they changed it. That is where the confusion comes.

IT is about time the jerk Tony is comes to film.

If anyone can survive that kind of drubbing it's RDJ. He's got the charisma. He can get away with it. And I'm excited by the idea of him playing sort of a quasi villain foil to the more altruistic Cap.

The very fact that Marvel is even going this route with their number one money maker shows they continue to take risks.

Well, though Cap and Tony will likely have an antagonistic relationship, the movie will be significantly different than the comics version of CW. So, why not wait and see how the story is developed, what the Russos and McFeeley/Markus say about the script….

Also, wasn't the Marvel editorial board on Tony's side, saying he was supposed to be seen as the "right" side, during the whole CW mess? Oh well. It'll be very different from the books, though, that's for sure. Per Feige's words.

AoU clip details.

Joss Whedon debuted an exclusive clip from Avengers: Age of Ultron next. Cap and Stark are cutting wood and talking about Scarlett Witch. They are arguing about preparing for war and the future of the Avengers.

Well thats the puzzling thing, Hulk became more popular after A1, will be even more so after A2, and yet they still arent giving him a solo movie? I do agree a good Hulk movie is harder to do than for Cap or IM, but if they pull GOTG off, which they did superbly, they can pull a good Hulk movie IMO.
It will surely happen one day, especially if his appearances in other character's solo films and AoU & the Avengers Inifinity War films boost his popularity further. Marvel seem to be doing a hell of a lot right at the moment and I think they'll give us a Hulk solo in the not too distant future, even if after all these announced films (most of which were themselves crucial for various reasons). In the meantime I hope RuffaHulk dominates the MCU so that they can never have 2nd thoughts.

Well they showed that in a very poor manner. :funny:

Also it seems Feige understands how little regard people have for these major crossovers like Age of Ultron and Civil War. They are taking the titles only and assuring people of that. :hehe:

I agree that GotG was easily the most gorgeous Marvel movie from a visual standpoint, but that DP just got done shooting AoU. Unless he wants to be straight-up owned by Marvel, he can't shoot all these movies, people. Spread the wealth. :oldrazz:
