The Black Panther concept looks fantastic
the infiniy Gaunlet story needs the 2 parter and we don't have to wait
3 years to get the conclusion :hubba

looking forward to the inhumans

I would only be worried if they made a script of the film and then split in half. But i'm going to assume they are writing two scripts for two films, but following the same story.

I think it is implied at this point that its one story split in two.

 One story split, is not the same as one script or book split.

They have probably known this was going to be the case for a while and they will still be a year or so away from even starting the script for the film/s

If this was called Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War it probably wouldn't have people saying it sucks.

I bet the main reason it's called Part 1 and 2 is just so everyone knows it's one story, not like Avengers or Age of Ultron, not like Cap 1, Cap 2 and Cap 3, not like any of the Iron Man films or Thor films. It is more like Lord of the Rings or Star Wars or Harry Potter or countless other books and films which are one story over more than one film or book.

It doesn't mean Part 1 is filler, it doesn't mean all the action and good stuff will be in Part 2.

I for one am glad Avengers: Infinity War is a two part-er.

Assuming the majority of characters are alive/included, it will be quite the line up.
Probably the biggest lineup of major players in a film EVAH!!

It's... beautiful. I remember reading up on all this MCU stuff after IM1 and failing to convince people that Captain America, Thor, and certainly Avengers would ever work on film.

Now, not only are they rapidly increasing in popularity & quantity, but they're increasing in quality (for the most part) and variety in terms of tone/style. As long as they keep up the good work I won't feel any oversaturation.

Why is Cap's name so small in comparison to the Civil War subtitle? It's as if that overshadows him. In all the other logos, the main character has a bigger font size so you know it's his/their movie.

Maybe because there will be a lot of other characters in the film? Civil War is big to show it will be a war between supoerheroes rather than just a Cap film.

Help it fight off BVS.

Anyone else but me just stunned at the magnitude of Feige's task and the scope of it all????? We fans all specualte and gush like these are monthly comic books we're talking about but it's amazing what Marvel Studios is doing.

I was watching a podcast talking about this announcement and it hit me that the logos they were showing on screen represented a BILLION dollars in budget alone and that didn't even include Avengers: Infinity War. A BILLION dollars or more to make seven solo superhero films and that doesn't even include marketing. Feige is one cool customer!

I am not worthy.

I remember back in 2008, as I was watching Iron Man at it's midnight premiere, my mind was racing with excitement at the idea that what I was watching was just a part of a bigger piece of a puzzle that had yet to unfold. I knew about Nick Fury cameo and the plan to build up towards the Avengers, yet I never would have guessed it'd be this big in just a short span of 6 years.
It's fun to go back and watch Iron man every now and then and realize that somewhere out there is a gun-toting racoon, an alien/Norse god, etc.

Fiege is the man.
What podcast were you listening to perchance? I might want to give that a listen.

Woo hoo! The Hype's added a few new sub-forums for us! :woot:

Is anyone else confused as to why Ant-Man is Phase II? The Phases should end with Avengers movies acting as the big finale.

I'm hoping it's because they want to slot a surprise extra film into phase 3 called 'Wasp', but ar waiting on the reception to Ant Man first.

But I know it's unlikely.

I think that was the plan all along because wasn't Antman suppose come out in November this year but then they moved it because of Edgar dropping out. I could be wrong.

I'm actually Surprised Part 1 isn't in November and Part 2 is in the Summer they just give a year apart from each other.

Oh, just a few. :ninja:

IIRC, that was Feige's original statement (Avengers to close out each phase). My guess would be they decided to fire up development and it made more sense to connect Phase 3 as we saw it laid out yesterday rather than to arbitrarily delay or segment things to keep in line with original thought.

I wonder who will be in the new Avengers team for A3 part 1 and 2 and if any of the original roster will remain.

Now I immediately saw the two-parter as the way for them to pass the torch from Cap, Iron Man, and Thor, to Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and the Inhumans. It just makes perfect sense. Evans, RDJ, and Hemsworth's contracts will be over. Some may not be interested (Evans) or affordable (RDJ) to come back for any more films. So it's time to move the MCU's focus from the original characters to the next set of characters.

I suspect Infinity War I will mark the end, quite possibly even the deaths, of some of the original Avengers. Cap & Tony are the most likely to be killed off, probably Fury as well if he's still around by then. If Thor gets killed, I suspect it would more likely happen in Ragnarok, but there will be some reason by Infinity War II that he can no longer return to Earth, clearing the way for Captain Marvel to step into his role as the Avengers' powerhouse. Bucky can step into Cap's role. Panther and/or Ant-Man slides into Tony's. Widow & Hawkeye may or may not survive both parts. Ditto Hulk.

It's very ambitious, but if done right it leaves Marvel a clear field to run Phase IV & beyond without requiring any of the Phase I cast.

Ant-Man feels like the odd man out in all this MCU stuff.

True. He's starting to feel almost like how Edgar Wright intended him: completely cut off from the rest of the MCU in his own standalone movie. I thought that Michael Douglas was contracted for several movies though (which wouldn't necessarily be Ant-Man sequels).

I'm just so pumped that we're actually getting not just three but FOUR Avengers films. But I have to wonder what that means for the Big Three: Iron Man, Cap and Thor. It seems like that fourth falls outside the actors' contracts. It's kind of a dead giveaway plot wise if they are not signed on for more.

They might not be contracted but Marvel will be able to afford the real Ultron by then. And sure they could command ****loads, but can they command those same ****loads doing anything else and do they really want to miss what could be the biggest film ever?
