Did something new drop with Yellow Jacket today? Off to the Ant-Man thread!

EDIT: Just checked it out. Looks great, thanks for the heads up.

Man, the MCU is an awesome place. I totally want to live there.

I really hope I don't get any hatred for this, but I'm a big Ronda Rousey fan, and although she has a long way to go as an actress, it would be a shame not to put her in a superhero property where she can kick some serious ass. Plus, her best friends are Groot and Black Adam, so she has connections.

This might be a question for a different thread, but who could the baddest woman on the planet play in a superhero film? Maybe the new Thor when Hemsworth is deemed unworthy?

Ronda should get a Batroc the Leaper type role in a superhero movie where she gets to have a cool fight scene and doesn't get much dialogue.

So, basically do with her what they did with Georges St-Pierre...

I have faith that by hanging out with the Rock and his ex-wife (her new manager, no joke) non-stop for a few more years, and she'll learn how to talk better.

It's probably too late, but after watching all 13 hours of Daredevil, I want him in Civil War. Damn I wish that could happen.

What are the odds of these Defenders series characters showing up in Infinity War? They're surely going to need everybody to take on Thanos.

we basically know nothing at this point, so from that on i would say everything is possible

I suppose it's possible. I mean if the Rock and Channing Tatum could actually learn over time and with dedication and a lot of work to actually develop acting chops(and I'd argue they have) then there is no reason she couldn't if she want to put the effort in as well. It'd probably take her 5 years or so of continually staying at it but she could get better. Not saying she'll ever win an Oscar though.

I'm not asking her to be Oscar worthy, just good enough to play the Goddess Of Thunder.

It's up to her to put the work in. There is no other art that is more deceptive regarding the actual skill set needed to pull it off. It's easy to think anyone can act and how hard can it be? It takes some real skill to do it well and you have to work for it. If she really wants it(and we don't know that) then she'll have to pursue it with as much vigor as she pursued her fighting skills. That is, if she really wants to get good. And I'd love it if both her and Carano would pursue it. We can sure use skilled actresses with the extra assets they'd bring to the table.

I brought this up in another thread, but I think the argument could potentially be made that 2015 is Marvel's best year so far. We'll have to wait until the numbers for AoU come in and see how it is received, but if it even somewhat meets expectations I think it'll be an open shut case.
Not only are we getting a follow up to the biggest superhero movie of all time, but the universe has expanded in so many unique, different ways with Agent Carter, Daredevil, and Ant-man.

^I agree. Plus we may get the Jessica Jones series before the year ends(I'm betting November) and AoS has been doing pretty well recently.

True, only reason I did not count AoS is that it did not start this year. But I guess it improving helps the argument that 2015 has treated the MCU very well.
And I forgot about Jessica Jones. You really think we'll see it before the end of the year? Is that speculation or do we have something confirmed?

Well season 3 will start this year so that counts too. Yes I think they'll have it finished in around 6 months or so. If not then it won't be much longer beyond that at any rate. Just me speculating but it seems to make sense. They can't wait very long to keep these going, maybe a year-year and a half between seasons at most so they should all be hitting 6-8 months apart from each other, it seems to me. The MCU is built upon the perpetuating of momentum and that means you can wait too long before another nudge has to be given to keep this merry-go-round spinning. They've created a lot of MCU addicts at this point and you gotta keep them addicted by letting them continue to consume what they are addicted to. Otherwise withdrawal occurs and then they clean up and don't have such a drive to consume this material anymore.

We're talking about Ronda Rousey... A woman who has accomplished literally everything she has set her mind to since she came up short of winning the Gold in Beijing (taking Bronze). That's not me just hyping her up, that's a factual piece of information.

You and I both know she wants to be a great actress, and you and I both know she will do her best to improve her acting skills within the confines of her busy UFC schedule. It may take her a while to reach her potential as an actress, but I believe she'll eventually reach it.

I personally have no knowledge of what her ambitions are but if she wants it then I support her fully.

Anyone have any idea as to WHEN the Daredevil series takes place? I'm thinking late summer of 2013 until about Christmas.

I responded to this in the daredevil thread as well, but I think it's been, at the very least, 2 years since the events of Avengers (In episode 1, I think, Karen mentions how "the last 2 years" have been good for (the construction) business). So that would put it into at least 2014 (with the question remaining of whether it's before or after The Winter Soldier). Though it's also possible that it could be (relatively speaking) "current day" and take place Spring of 2015.

I was under the impression it was current day, but admittedly, not a lot of thought went into that. :daredevil

Considering that in the first couple of episodes it is obviously hot weather, and that by episode 13 it is so cold outside that you can see people's breath, I'm going to assume that it takes place between August and December of 2014.

Thanks for pointing out the "last 2 years" comment. This gives me an excuse to rewatch the episode!

Alright, Karen says it at the 25 minute mark in episode one (Into The Ring).

That puts this in the summer of 2014 as the start date.

It looks like I'll have to watch DD and the first half of Season two of AoS this summer and determine an appropriate timeline.

My current theory is that Marvel is going to have a two-hour block on ABC next year, with Agents of SHIELD and its spin-off running concurrently and Agent Carter and this new show being developed filling in the off-season. Which means Marvel is probably going to end up with a dozen MCU-based series by the end of Phase 3.

Umm, I think this new show IS the Agents of SHIELD spin-off
